'The Dark' is Neiderman's story of how one man's persuasiveness pushes others to commit evil deeds. There are some strong similarities to his earlier work, 'The Devil's Advocate', but none-the-less there is joy to be had in reading this dark and twisted (albeit, rather short) tale. The characters are well defined, especially the mysterious 'villain', who dominates every scene in which he appears. The narrative is excellently executed, creating several scenes which exude malevolence and will keep you enrapt. Unnerving from start to finish 'The Dark' is a quick treat.

I really enjoyed this twisted little story.
It gave me 80s horror film vibes, but was subtle and mysterious.

I can definitely see a little similarity with Devils Advocate, even though the storyline is different, the characters are similar and the vibe of the plot felt similar.

I'd love to read more books by this author as this was my first one.

A pschitrist's client is a strange, yet powerful in a subtle way and gets people to the actions by using their weaknesses. The is a dangerous man or is he the devil.
