My family is LOVING this book! We used to have a really hard time making the time to read scriptures, but since we started this book in September, we rarely miss a day.
The book has selected scriptures in The Book of Mormon that are easy to understand and apply to our own lives (like most scriptures can, but this is simplified).
I like that there are actual scriptures to read, not rewritten sentences that are similar to scripture. I also really like the discussion questions after the scriptures that help my family apply the scriptures to their own lives. My kids (ages 14, 12, 9, and 6) are all able to answer the questions and like this book.
The bookmark ribbon is handy for saving our spot, but we had to add a post it arrow sticker to put on the right side of the page so we can make sure we are in the right spot the following day.
When we first started reading, it would often be right after dinner since we were all already together. I sometimes made the first person finished eating be our reader so they weren't bugging me to be excused to their room (duel purposes: no whining about leaving and maybe they eat slower the next time...) We have since started reading just before putting the younger kids to bed.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND, particularly if having trouble getting into a family scripture reading habit.

What a great experience I had in reading this wonderful book! It was the hardcover edition; for some reason no other editions were available for me to choose from on Goodreads. The beautiful original artwork made this book even more appealing. I loved reading this, one of my daily reads forever, in this new format, with illustrations to add to the inspiration of the words of the prophets.
This version of The Book of Mormon was especially meaningful with the introduction and summary of each chapter provided by the author, as well as thought provoking questions at the end of each. The questions were my favorite part because they helped me glean the most important message from that chapter, and think about how to apply that to my daily living. I can see how this format and the questions will help young children as they learn the teachings of Jesus from these pages. I loved the experience, and read through this quite quickly because I want to share this book with one of my family members for them to use with their little ones. Reading the Book of Mormon at a faster pace always benefits me as I take in the story more intensely.

I think this is a great help for family scripture study. There are small sections of scripture verses to read, along with discussion questions. Each section is tailored to take about five minutes to read and discuss. Dan Burr does the illustrations and they are great. We have several of his children's books that he has illustrated.

Did we read every single page of this book this year, technically no. Did we do our best, and did we feel supported in our efforts because of this book throughout the year, yes. The shortened chapters really helped with our young kids’ attention spans. So did the beautiful illustrations. Highly recommend.

This devotional takes small sections of the book of Mormon and extracts a lesson from it. It's good for getting a quick context of a scripture with out having to go through all the pages or verses. I would recommmend it to those people with children or tweens who might not be ready to sit through the whole book of Mormon. I filed this under the prompt read a book that includes something broken (hpootp 2024)
