"Food Infographics is filled with curiosities and useful information on the ways we eat, drink, and enjoy food." -- Simone Klabin
Both informative and beautiful, this book fits into several categories. First, the utility factor is very high if you cook, bake, or drink. It is a reference book at its core with answers to almost every related food and drink question. Second, it is an art book. The physical format is massive which allows you to get fully enveloped into the art and graphics. Finally, it is so instructional from an infographics perspective. So many brilliant examples are included which enable you to deeply study how to convey information in graphics form. This is a great book.
Not just a great coffee table book (although that is certainly what it is), this is a beautiful compendium of information about food, lovingly presented in infographics. I learned much from this book and I already thought I knew a lot about food (e.g. the word "gumbo" comes from okra or pork butt is really another term for pork shoulder)! Sometimes you admire the information in the graphics, sometimes the design, oftentimes both.
Infographics looked amazing. The book could have benefited from a scope limitation sợ that it could cover a few more topics deeper. The breadth is overwhelming, but sometimes it feels the depth isn’t quite there
Overall, it makes for one of the best coffee table books I have ever seen
