I started this book and expected it to act as a supplementary for one of my research tracks. However, I ended up reading it all. This book is pretty clear and concise when it comes to explaining various terminologies pertaining to the world of photography. I like the constructed roadmap that kicks off with the fundamentals and delves deeper into various aspects of the field. Each topic in a chapter follows a definitive pattern; starting with some with comprehensive text on the general theory and principles before signing off with some conventional Dos and Dont's. The illustrations and images describing the nitty-gritty reinforces the reading experience and is the prominent reason why I got hooked to it. In my personal opinion, it would have been a complete book, had a few other topics like diffraction, airy disks, tilt-lens, HDR imaging, etc been included. In any case, this is a great introduction to the technical details for photographers.
This book provides a lot of good information. Depending on what information and what level of photographer you are, it does have a lot of good ideas. The chapters on equipment and cleaning of your camera are very valuable, though I can't say I'll be trying to clean my own camera, basically due to fear of messing up my sensor and other components. This book does go over various techniques that in the long run will improve your photographer.
I would recommend this book to go along with another photography book. These two combine would be great and really help improve anyone photography skills in general.
Solid clear explanation for beginner or an easy to read refresh for those with more experience. This book was a gift. It would not be a book I would choose but I enjoyed the read.
