Jack Youngblood was fiercely competitive, so much so the thought of injuries, such as a broken tibia just below knee, didn’t prevent him from playing. Youngblood had a Football first priority that cost him his first marriage, you can gather his regret throughout the book but understand his desire to win above all else. I enjoyed the 80’s Rams stories sprinkled throughout the book.

"Blood" is a story of a true throwback player of old. Jack played the game because he loved the sport. Period. You would be hard pressed to find someone else who would ask to play a game with a broken leg, much less actually do it. A must for any hard core football fan."
