Hi! This is the 2nd book in my super sexy series about the Kings of Castle Beach! While this family saga is a series of interconnected book, each one can be read as a standalone.

Growing up, Tate Prescott was just my older brother’s best friend, but over the years he became my first love… and my biggest secret.

Yes, you read that right...Tate Prescott, *The Tate Prescott*, Hollywood Superstar and now the most sought after movie director in the industry is *mine*. We’ve hidden our relationship from the world for so long that it’s become second nature. The last thing we wanted was a media frenzy to rain down on us.

But after my little brother drowned at sea and I became wrapped up in the guilt of knowing that his death was my fault, I shut down… and Tate left when I needed him the most.

Four months have passed since then, and now Tate’s back in town, demanding that I give him thirty days to make our relationship work.

All I want is to forget about the mistake we made the weekend my brother died.
Only Tate’s not so easily deterred and he’s not just some big talking man from Hollywood—he’s my *husband*, and he wants a second chance to prove to me that he can win back my heart.

I still want him. I still love him. But can I forgive him for abandoning me?
Worse, I think we’re a couple.

In the end, though, Tate will go back to L.A., no matter what he promises... just like he did before, because he's nothing but a big talking man.

I liked getting to know Quinn in the beginning of this series and was glad to read she was next. Tate was a good match for her. I really liked his buildup in general wherein he definitely wasn’t perfect but was ready and willing to grow after having made a big mistake. Quinn was slower to develop and I liked the contrast that offered. That said, she was as frustrating at times so Tate’s patience was certainly warranted and conveyed well in the writing.

The plot was interesting. Pacing, imagery, and prose done very well. The secondary characters continue to make an impression and I’m very much looking forward to gaining a better understanding of the overarching connected plot.

Safety: No others for either. No rape or abuse.

3 – 3.5 'On The Fence' Stars.

We meet the whole King family in book 1. Where Knight King gets his HEA. Now it is Quinn’s turn. It’s not going to be that easy for her.

The whole King family is grieving for the loss of their youngest brother Laird. Each of the siblings Knight, Quinn, Barron, Deacon and Duke are handling it all differently.

Quinn owns a salon in Castle Beach and is successful but it wasn’t really that what she wanted to do. She wanted to study art and become a painter. Quinn though is the one that is going to crack under all the pressure of everything she does and all the emotions she isn’t processing. The guilt, the grief and the difficulty of moving on.

Tate Prescott, actor and producer is moving back to Castle Beach to win back his wife. Yes you read right wife. He was given some bad advice and has now been paying for it. He is persistent in winning back Quinn anyway he can.

Did I like Quinn? Meh, sometimes. She grew on me. But then she mucked up. She was just too OTT.

Did I like Tate? I didn’t like him. I loved him. He has the patience of a frigging saint.

I always enjoy Ms. Valentine’s writing, its feel good and makes me smile like a goof. It is a pick me up with no o/w drama. Sweet, sexy and some minor angst.

Barron & Wren are up next and I can’t wait to truly get to know them as a couple.

This is the second book in the Kings Of Castle Beach series, and while I did already have the first book on my to-be-read list, I did not get to read it before I picked up Big Talking Man. I intend to read Picture Perfect Lie – the first story within this series as soon as possible, as this was a pleasure to read.

I do not feel that I struggled with understanding the characters or story-line due to reading Big Talking Man without reading Picture Perfect Lie first but I do think it may be even more enjoyable to read this series in the correct order.

Marquita Valentine really has managed to pack so much into this relatively quick read. There was sadness, happiness, humour and passion all mixed up in the relationship between Tate and Quinn and these feelings and the accompanying thoughts leap off of the page in this wonderfully written story.

The whole book flows beautifully and each development within the story feels like a natural progression. The King family, Tate and the other more prominent personalities are incredibly well developed and it feels like Marquita Valentine knows her characters well.

I will definitely be following this series closely and look forward to reading more work from this hugely talented author.

Thanks to Marquita Valentine and Social Butterfly PR for granting me an ARC copy of Big Talking Man. #2 in the Kings of Castle Beach series. This is my honest review.

Big Talking Man by Marquita Valentine is a fun, light and charming second chance read. This book can be read as a standalone but I must forewarn you that the story is interconnected with the knowledge of what occurred in the first book. With that being said, Valentine introduces readers to Quinn and Tate. These two are married but when Quinn lost her brother in a tragic accident, their relationship kind of crumbled. But this time around, Tate is ready to win back his wife. Tate is a man who will stop at nothing to win back her heart. So if you are looking for a romance that was endearing and has a hero that will win your heart then this is the book for you.

I liked Quinn in the first book but holy freaking shit was she annoying in the parts I read of this one.

I get it...you feel extremely guilty because of your brothers death AND on top of that your husband abandoned you but put your big girl panties on and deal with it! You’re almost 30 years old for crying out loud.

It looks like the next book (in December) will be an enemies to lovers and I may read it...problem is that the H is engaged to OW in the beginning of it - it will depend on how MV handles that situation. As for the book about Deacon...eh...probably not, didn’t like how he was described (goes through women like water) but has it bad for his friend who gets to witness it all...

In theory I should have really enjoyed this book. Both have been celibate during the 4 month separation and have always been faithful. Hero was never a manwhore and seemed like devoted and caring husband who made a mistake and heroine was no doormat.

But for some reason I just couldn't get into the story. I couldn't get invested into the characters and their stories enough to actually care what happens to them. I was just reading it robotically at one point, just for the sake of finishing it. They said they loved each other but I couldn't feel it, it didn't feel real to me. Maybe because from the beginning they are separated and the heroine is really mad at him and whole book is just him trying to win her over with no flashbacks and explanation on how and when they started dating.

So I didn't know why and how they loved each other. I was very briefly told what their back ground is. But we readers want to know to be shown what happened not told. Show not tell #writing101. I thought the book will be full of feels- angst, love, desperation, anger but instead I just felt indifferent. I don't really know why. Maybe it was the writing style but I had no problem connecting to characters in the first book. So it probably was the plot and the way the book was structured.

The heroine spend a lot of book pissed off at him. In fact I actually found it a but annoying- she wasn't reasonable. Yes the Tate left when you needed him the most but you are one to push him away and then your brother told him to give you space. What do you expect the guy to do??

I didn't remember the blurb of the book or the some of the parts of the first one when I read the prologue. And in those few pages, I got invested in Laird and Ophelia. And when the first chapter began with him dead my stomach dropped and I got very disappointed and sad. I want Laird by some miracle to be alive and kicking. Maybe he is in a coma or has amnesia and that's why he is not back yet. I just don't want him dead.

Now, that I've got this out of my chest I can talk about the book. The heroine was a tiny bit annoying because she kept pushing the hero away when I just wanted them to be together. I loved them as a couple and they had a lot of chemistry which made things better and got me hooked on their story. The kings are an interesting family and I look forward to their happy endings. So far I have liked both books in the series and I hope we will go for 3 out of 3. A part of this book's timeline is the same as of book 1 and that makes me hopeful that Ophelia won't be without her husband for a long time.

I couldn't but recommend the book since it has a hero who is book boyfriend material and a good pace and writing.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but that picture isn't always a beautiful one. How is it that Ms. Valentine can break a heart in one breath and piece it back together in the next? Tate and Quinn are love at it's purest and it's most heartbreaking. Brought together by love, torn apart part by grief and given a second chance by hope. Big Talking Man is a complicated story that thrives on an abundance of emotion. What once was pure becomes unbearable after tragedy enters the equation. Now it's up to these lovebirds to stay the course or go their separate ways. With a hint at another precious love and a devotion that quickly envelops Marquita Valentine continues to be a must have on my bookshelf.

This is the Second book in the series Kings of Castle Beach.
I just love this series. maybe it's because it takes place in the south or because of the Blackbeard Legend. My family and I use to have a place on the Julienton River, and we would jump in the boat and make our way through the sounds and we would climb over the dunes and hang out on Blackbeard Island. It's uninhabited. A beautiful place and brings back the best memories!
Moving on..
This is Tate and Quinn's book. Quinn is Deacon's twin who we met in Picture Perfect Lie. So glad we got little bits and pieces of them in this book too! Love!!
The book begins with Laird's funeral. I still have my fingers crossed that he is really alive, some freaking where and will come back to Ophellia once we make our way through the other King men. My heart hurts so bad for Ophelia and we don't even have her book.
Quinn is a great character, she always takes care of each and every person except herself. She never puts her own needs ahead of everyone else. She is a very selfless character. I read a review and saw where someone said she was immature or something, that blew my mind..Did we read the same book?

Quinn is upset with Tate whom she secretly married, but he took off without her four months ago when she was given the devastating news that her brother, Laird had disappeared while out on the boat.
She is surprised when Tate shows up at the funeral.
" Listen we made a mistake. It was the heat of the moment, a one night stand turned into a honeymoon." - Quinn
" Really that's what your going to call what we've been doing for years?" Tate
"Maybe." - Quinn
" Quinn King, my one and only wife, you are duly warned that I plan to return very soon, fully prepared to win you back by any means necessary." - Tate

Tate was a great hero. He really did love Quinn and it wasn't an instant love type thing. I loved him! He was a very likable guy.

There was this quote that I highlighted, it had nothing to do with Quinn and Tate's story but it really stood out to me.
" Besides, in Castle Beach we're not allowed to run on party lines. Makes us loyal to the town instead of whatever letter happens to be beside our name. People don't want to do away with that section of our town charter, so it stands." - Baron King
I just think that it was brilliant.

Anyway this was a fantastic read. I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to reading Baron's book and oh my gosh Deacon's book too. And I really hope that Laird is really alive and that he and Ophelia will get their HEA.

After the loss of her brother, Quinn King needed the support of her husband more than anything. And when he decided to leave town and return to life in Hollywood, Tate made an unforgivable mistake...

Tate Prescott is a movie star who is secretly married to Quinn King. Keeping their marriage a secret was meant to protect Quinn, but in the end all it accomplished was to drive them apart. Now that he's returned to Castle Beach, his plan is to win Quinn back and give her everything their relationship has always deserved, and prove to her that she can trust him once and for all...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I really enjoyed the plot of this book. I felt a little lost with some of the characters as this is book two in the Kings of Castle Beach series, and I would suggest reading book one first so you will experience the entire scope of this story...
When Tate has to return back to work in the wake of Quinn losing her brother, she freaks out on him and decides that his leaving means that he is walking out on their marriage. Needing him to be there for her at her most desperate time, she can't handle the fact that he doesn't stick around.
I really wanted to like Quinn, she was an amazing help to her family, always lending a shoulder to cry or pitching in when people needed her. But, she drove me completely nuts when it came to Tate. Yes, he made a bad decision to leave when he did, but even after she has "forgiven" him, she still goes out of her way to stomp on his heart when she gets a little emotional.
Tate seemed like a pretty amazing guy. He seems to really love his hometown and the King family, and hasn't let Hollywood change him. Also, he put up with Quinn a lot more than I would have. His only goal is to repair his marriage and make Quinn happy, and he sticks with her through thick and thin, and forgives a whole lot easier than she does.
This book was a good read, well written and entertaining. While I didn't love Quinn, I enjoyed the story as a whole and would love to see more from this series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
Review by Trinette Dungee
Quinn and Tate have been secretly dating for three years and four months ago they secretly wed but before they could celebrate Quinn’s younger brother Laird was lost at sea and full of grief, she pushes Tate away. Although she pushed him away, Quinn feels betrayed by Tate for leaving and despite her feelings for him she’s not sure she can trust him to be there for her should she need him again.
The worst decision Tate ever made was allowing Quinn to push him away and give her space; but now he's gotten her to agree to give him thirty days to convince her to tear up the divorce papers she’s served him with and stay married to him.
I love storylines where the main characters admit to their mutual attraction and love for each other from the beginning; and I loved these two. Banter and dialogue are high on my list of what makes a good book and this book is full of it. I’m not a fan of angst and I didn’t have to worry it during this read.
Tate and Quinn know exactly how they feel about each other; they just have to work through the one obstacle keeping them from moving forward which is Quinn. She’s holding on to a misplaced guilt that keeps her from finding her happy. What I love about Tate is there is no shame in his game. He’s not too proud (although he tries to be) in expressing his feelings for Quinn or what he wants for their future. He even discusses his feelings with his best friend Barron, who happens to be Quinn’s brother. I love men who TALK, men who discuss emotions and feelings. Sexiness just jumps off the page when it comes to this guy and I practically swooned the entire time I was reading. Not to mention he’s described as a hot nerd…sigh.
Quinn is a bit of a complicated character but at the same time, so easily understood. She’s strong, she’s independent but at the same time her neediness shows and it makes her very lovable. Her pride is her character flaw but it doesn’t come across in a negative way. I mean the women grew up in house full of boys….who can blame her? Tough exterior and mushy center completely describes Quinn.
I loved the flow of this book and of course all of the supporting characters have my attention. When an author can write a story and manage to have you interested in every character, it’s a natural home run for me.
This is book two of the Kings of Castle Beach Series, and although it’s stated that they can be read as stand-alone, I recommend starting with book one (Campbell and Knight’s story) just to get a little more background on the King Family. After reading book one, I was anxious to read about Campbell’s brother Cain but now I’m feigning for Deacon’s and Duke’s story but Barron’s is next and I can’t wait to read about him too. Then there is sister-in-law Ophelia, l can’t help but to hope she has a story too and I’m praying it plays out the way it does in my head.
Tate Prescott is a Big Talking Man when it comes to his wife, Quinn King, who told him to leave her alone almost immediately after they were married when her baby brother was lost at sea and she felt she was responsible. The dumba$$ listened to her and left her alone for four months but he is now back in town and he has come back for his wife, although she may not want to be woo'd back and comes at him with divorce papers. Those are not easy to get in North Carolina so she had to do some fast talking but he is not signing...These two have some hurdles to get over but it was fun to watch the groveling and making up and even the backsliding and making up again. This family has their drama but in the end they are are big and messy family. I cannot wait for the next sibling to get their HEA!
This can be read as a standalone and you will not be lost but the first book in this series was better than this one so I recommend you read that one too!
4 "Wild Child" Stars
Big Talking Man was an enjoyable read. Witty banter, undeniable chemistry, no drama, and swoony moments made this an easy read.
Tate and Quinn had me smiling so big with their bickering. Both stubborn and at times both having me shaking my head at their expense. Tate and Quinn are both going through some things and trying to work through them. And as much as Quinn wants to forget about Tate, she can't. Their connected, and her heart always sings for him. I liked the growth they both made in making their marriage work. They didn't take the easy way out, and I really liked that.
I can't wait for the next book in this series. I'm dying for Barron's book. I can't wait to get more of him and Wren. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Laird is out there somewhere. Ophelia needs a HEA, and she needs it with Laird!
I can't decide on a rating yet, but for the most part I did not connect with these characters and that is a big problem for me. Erm I'll think on it and come back and rate it.
But yeah I'll figure it out soon.
Big Talking Man is book two of the Kings of Castle Beach series. It can be read as a standalone, but certain things are best understood if the first book, Picture Perfect Lie, is read prior.
Tate and Quinn have known each other for years. Tate happens to be Quinn’s brothers best friend, and a Hollywood Heartthrob who has taken a step back from the spotlight. The two have had an intense, passionate, relationship, and now, Tate is home to win Quinn back.
I really enjoyed Big Talking Man. The chemistry between the two was hot, and their story kept me hooked. Tate and Quinn are easy to root for as they each dig into the other, mending one another while creating new. Big Talking Man felt a bit on the slow side, but I was obsessed with Quinn and Tate, and didn’t want to put their story down. I’m so excited to see what happens with this series.
4.5 Stars, and recommended to the reader looking for a sexy and emotional second chance.
*ARC REVIEW*
Please note that this book was provided for free by the author's publishing PR in exchange for an honest review. Feel free to check out my full book review policy on my blog for more details.
Oh man. I can’t believe that I’m saying this but I didn’t enjoy this book. I thought I would love it having adored the first one in the series but I think that the problems I had with it just overwhelmed me to the point where I couldn’t enjoy it too much at all.
I try to be positive about books and in keeping with that theme I’m going reveal what I could have done without in this book and what I actually liked.
Ok, negatives first. The premise of the book just didn’t work for me. It was so clear to me who between Tate and Quinn was at fault for the breakdown in their relationship and I just didn’t see the need for the person who, in my view, hadn’t done anything wrong, to beg for the other person to take them back. I found myself so confused by this as I was reading. It felt like such an unnecessary difficulty that I just didn’t see the need for all the groveling and begging that happened in the book.
I also struggled with the editing. Now, I have to point out that I received an ARC and of course not all the editing is done at that point but I think it didn’t help my reading experience that I had to keep adding in words to the passages so they made sense or that I had to keep stopping to go back and make sure that I read things right. I am hopeful that this was just a bug with the ARC and won’t be the same for the finished work.
Because I struggled with the premise, I didn’t find Quinn to be a sympathetic character. I found her to be sort of selfish and immature at times (she's 28!) and that also made it hard for me to get stuck into the novel. I felt like I wasn’t rooting for her so much as I was rooting for Tate who wanted to be with her.
So, on to the positives. I love the Kings of Castle Beach. I feel like there are so many more great stories to tell. Like what’s going on between Barron and Wren? And what about poor Ophelia? In a book where I didn’t necessarily love the leading lady there were plenty of other characters to love! I enjoyed the cameos from Campbell and Knight and loved the continuation of their story as a family.
I thought the issue of survivor’s guilt was tackled really admirably and there was a part of me that felt all sorts of sad for Quinn when she was going through it. I also thought it was so admirable how she took on the role of the care taker but also how that tied into trying to assuage her guilt. The way she tried to compensate for not being there the one time it felt like it mattered by being there all the time now felt really realistic to me.
Overall this was a disheartening 3 star read to me. That being said I love this series and will be coming back to Castle Beach in the hope that Ms Valentine has a great one in store for me when I return.
Big Talking Man was such a fun and sexy book to read, yet I found it to be way more emotional than I had expected as well. I absolutely loved that Quinn and Tate had grown up together as friends first before becoming so much more years later. The fact that Tate and Barron, Quinn's older brother, were best friends made this story even more perfect. I also loved Tate and Quinn had secretly gotten married; yet most of her brothers seemed to know it while keeping it from their mother.
I loved the banter between Tate and Quinn anytime they were together. There was always an underlying spark there that you could just feel between them, and they both gave as good as they got when bickering. I loved seeing Quinn and Tate find their way back to each other, yet wasn't prepared for many of the bumps in the road they encountered along the way. Quinn seemed way more easy going and go with the flow when we first met her in Picture Perfect Lie. I won't lie, when I found out Quinn was supposed to be with Laird on the day he disappeared, I cried a bit. I could feel Quinn's anguish as she pushed Tate away and stayed in her safe life almost as punishment for surviving.
I loved that Tate loved Quinn so much he was willing to fight to have her stay his wife. It was fun to walk down memory lane with these two and watch them build new memories along the way. I absolutely loved Tate was Quinn's assistant at the face painting booth and it made me laugh this big Hollywood star was being a lowly assistant to the woman he loved. Tate knew he had messed up big time and was going big in every way possible to try and fix the situation. I did feel like Quinn held onto her guilt for way too long without sharing with her family. The Kings are such a close-knit group, it just seemed so wrong that Quinn wouldn't have confided in one of her brothers.
As big as Tate was willing to go to make things right with Quinn, I loved Quinn was willing to go even bigger. I really felt like Quinn owed it to Tate to put herself out there in a big way and the fact that Quinn agreed and went all out made me respect her so much. Tate and Quinn just worked as a couple for me; even with all they work they had to do to make it work. Maybe that is why I ended up loving them as a couple so much.
Big Talking Man left me wanting so much more from the Kings of Castle Beach. Seriously, I can't wait for the rest of the King men to find their HEA in the future. I'm a huge fan of books in a series centering on a family, and Marquita Valentine is a master at such books. As a series purest, I tend to read books in a series in order, but can say with all honesty that Big Talking Man reads just fine as a stand-alone story.
This is the second book in the Kings of Castle series and though it says it can be read as a standalone, I kind of wish I read the first book because I felt a little lost and at times confused during this book. I’m not sure if it’s because I missed something in the first book or if it’s just the way the story played out for me.
Quinn’s Kings family just suffered a great tragedy and the person she should be able to lean on to help her navigate through her grief isn’t there for her. Nope he up and left for months when she needed him most. So Quinn is attempting to close her life off from the only man she ever loved and move on. Problem is Tate isn’t just some guy, he is her secret husband and when he shows back up in Castle Beach asking for a second chance what’s a girl to do?
“Don’t close yourself off to love. That would be denying yourself life.”
Tate Prescott Hollywood superstar turned famous producer knows he made a mistake when he left Quinn four months ago. But now he is back and wants thirty days to change her mind about ending their relationship, well marriage. He has loved her for as long as he can remember, she was his best friend's sister-turned lover and they married in secret to keep her safe and out of the spotlight. Now Tate wants her back and will do anything to keep Quinn in his life.
“I’ll be your anchor in this storm called life.”
Ok, so I really loved Tate, he owned up to the fact that he made a huge mistake and over and over tried to prove his love for Quinn and win her back. He was sweet and tried to give her the space she needed but was always there waiting in the wings to show her his support. Now Quinn I really struggled with. I just couldn’t connect with her and at times she just drove me nuts. I liked the book, I just had a hard time through parts of it and with Quinn. I think I will go back and give the first book in the series a try.
Overall Rating-3/3.5
This is the second book in the Kings of Castle series and though it says it can be read as a standalone, I kind of wish I read the first book because I felt a little lost and at times confused during this book. I’m not sure if it’s because I missed something in the first book or if it’s just the way the story played out for me.
Quinn’s Kings family just suffered a great tragedy and the person she should be able to lean on to help her navigate through her grief isn’t there for her. Nope he up and life for months when she needed him most. So Quinn is attempting to close her life off the only man she ever loved and move on. Problem is Tate isn’t just some guy, he is her secret husband and when he shows back up in Castle Beach asking for a second chance what’s a girl to do?
“ Don’t close yourself off to love. That would be denying yourself life.”
Tate Prescott Hollywood superstar turned famous producer knows he made a mistake when he left Quinn four months ago, but now he is back and wants thirty days to change her mind about ending their relationship, well marriage. He has loved her for as long as he can remember, she was his best friends sister, turned lover and they married in secret to keep her safe and out of the spotlight. But now Tate wants her back and will do anything to keep Quinn in his life.
“ I’ll be your anchor in this storm called life.”
Ok so I really loved Tate, he owned up to the fact that he made a huge mistake and over and over tried to prove his love for Quinn and win her back. He was sweet and tried to give her the space she needed but was always there waiting in the wings to show her his support. Now Quinn I really struggled with. I just couldn’t connect with her and at times she just drove me nuts. I liked the book, I just had a hard time through parts of it and with Quinn. I think I will go back and give the first book in the series a try.
WOW!! I was blown away reading Big Talking Man by Marquita Valentine, book two in her The Kings of Castle Beach series. On the day of her brother, Laird’s disappearance at sea, Quinn King marries Tate Prescott, her first love, biggest secret, and her older brother’s best friend. Feeling guilty for not going with Laird, and maybe saving him or drowning herself, Quinn has shut down and shut out Tate. When Tate, a Hollywood Superstar and movie director, had to return home to LA, Quinn believes he’s deserted her when she needed him more than ever. After four months absence Tate returns demanding that Quinn give him thirty days to make their relationship work prove they did not make a mistake. Biggest problem for Quinn is that she still wants him, still loves him, but is unsure if she can forgive him for abandoning her.
This was quite the emotional story, a variety of reasons for its ups and down. We are shown another side to Quinn than we saw in book one. Quinn has an artistic side to her, not just being a hair stylist. She gave up going to art school to stay home with her family. Being the only girl, Quinn plays a number of peace keeping roles. Tate truly knows and understands Quinn, more than anyone in her family. These two soul mates need to compromise and communicate in order to make their marriage succeed and share the love they have for each other.
Ms. Valentine wrote an amazing and moving story that is definitely not to be missed. It had me laughing, crying and everything in between. This story is filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters. I highly recommend this book to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
4.5 Big Talking stars.
Big Talking Man is the second book in the ‘Kings of Castle Beach’ by Marquita Valentine. We meet Quinn and the rest of her family in book 1, and got to know them a little bit but now it’s her turn to have the spotlight shining down on her.
After the trials and tribulations that Knight went through getting his HEA it was obvious that Quinn wasn’t about to have it easy either, and she certainly didn’t.
Owning the town salon, lets her in on a lot of secrets but who knows about the ones she has? Only the guy she shares them with.
Tate Prescott grew up alongside Quinn’s family, he’s Barron’s best friend and close to everyone else. So close to Quinn that they secretly dated and then married without telling anyone. Tate is a Hollywood producer and didn’t want Quinn to be mangled by the paparazzi.
But, Quinn’s secrets and the guilt she carries for some made them both make some bad decisions and Tate left. Now he’s back, determined to win Quinn’s heart for good and in public this time.
I liked Quinn but I didn’t love her as much as I wanted to. She let the drama get inside her head a bit too much, for good reason, but even so, she could have handled some of it better.
Tate? That man was something else, he knew he’d done wrong and wanted to fis things and Quinn kept pushing his away. But, he was stronger than she expected. He’ll win her over one way or the other.
I have been waiting for this book and I wasn’t disappointed, Marquita has a way of always leaving me with a smile on my face and this definitely did the job.
Now, I just have to wait for Barron and Wren’s book which is up next
“Pirate speak, 5 stars”
Quinn and Tate were comical in Big Talking Man. No matter how entertaining this couple is though they know heartache. This isn’t your classic love story about boy meets girl, falls in love, and live happily ever after. Don’t get me wrong, that happens, but when the happily ever after is supposed to happen tragedy strikes and stupidity happens. So this is kind of like a redemption story.
Quinn has always loved Tate, even before he was rich and famous. For years they kept their love hidden from the world and when they were about to go public tragedy struck and Tate left when he should have stayed. Now Quinn wants nothing to do with the one man who has always owned her heart.
Tate knows he made a few mistakes where Quinn is concerned but now he’s back to make them right, get his wife back and start the life they are meant to live. He doesn’t care what it takes. Quinn has the stubbornness of her pirate ancestors, but he isn’t afraid. Will the guy get the girl?
The town Big Talking Man takes place was founded by Blackbeard and Quinn is one of his descendants so there is some pirate talk at times and I couldn’t help but laugh! Even though the story has some tragedy it was a really light-hearted story that went by fast. If you take a chance on Tate and Quinn I bet, you’ll enjoy their story.
“Quinn King, my one and only wife, you are duly warned that I plan to return very soon, fully prepared to win you back by any means necessary.”
One death. A secret. A burden. And a broken marriage. Or almost. The Kings of Castell Beach are back and now we know the story of Knight's twin sister, Miss Quinn King. Or was it Mrs. Quinn Prescott?
A hidden passion that creates a secret marriage. Tate Prescott is not only the best friend of Barron King, the eldest of the descendants of the Blackbeard pirate. He is Quinn's husband. A couple full of chemistry in an attractive game of cat and mouse. She wants a divorce, he wants a second chance. And the big question is: why did they split up?
Marquita Valentine manages to keep the reader totally interested in reading as tries to figure out why Quinn and Tate are separated and what the big secret that makes Quinn feel guilty about her brother Laird's death.
A delightful couple, in a narrative full of revelations about this great, wonderful family. All this in a small seaside town. With the special participation of our old friend cliché. Is it a crush and a sassy damsel you were looking for? So pack your bags and board to Castel Beach.
I confess, I wasn't as big of a fan of this second book as I was of the first. I understood that Quinn--and her entire family and community--continued to mourn the disappearance of her brother Laird, and I got why it weighed on her more heavily than maybe her other siblings, but goodness, there were times I was tempted to shake her so that she would see some much-needed sense. Ugh. She was frustrating for a lot of the book, and if this were real life, I would have probably asked Tate if all the headache and heartache was worth it. However, I do love me a happily-ever-after, and in the midst of the loss that their entire family is still experiencing, each of the Kings are finding their way to love and happiness with their significant others. That being said, I've had this...theory in my head when it comes to the missing King sibling since the first book, and I'm curious to see if it'll play out the way I see it or not. In as much as I wasn't a huge fan of Quinn's, I did like Tate and I liked the original direction the author decided to take the story in Big Talking Man on, which is why it earns four stars and look forward to the next one. ♥
