Ideas for tiny changes to massively improve your life
Lots of low cost (or no cost) ideas on how to improve the small things in your life, that in turn will influence the big things in your life.
This book is full of great, simple mood enhancing ideas. There's something here for everyone, be it coping with children when you're out of energy/time, boosting yourself up in times of feeling sad, stressed, insecure etc., or just taking a look around yourself to see what mood sapping habits you have slipped into and how to easily change them.
I particularly loved the sections on: making sure your personal space/s make you feel good, benefits of specific herbs, smiling, scents for mood enhancement and the breathing exercises . Other chapters include sections on mood enhancing tinctures (drops taken with water), using your intuition, and colours that will rejuvenate you, and so much more!
The print is a good size, chapters are clearly divided down into smaller sections - easy to go back to find something. There is a great list of resources at the back, together with a useful index, recipes, and some great "Quick Reference Charts".
There are many anecdotes about dealing with negative moods - stress, anxiety, angry, too much going on etc. I mostly skim read these, as I was keen to get to what I felt was the "real information". However I did read about the author's personal life changing experience (pages 3-6), and it is the content here that opened me up to being receptive to the rest of the book. No matter what qualifications she has (she has plenty!) her reactions and coping strategies in this part of her life, was what made me want to learn from her.
Near the end of the book is a 90 Day Programme (which I have already started!) . It is broken down into one line recommendations so ideas that best suit the reader can be easily picked out.
5*s from me, as this is a practical, and beautiful, book, with lots of quick ideas for life improvement. I am glad I got the paperback book (rather than an e-book), as this is a book that I shall be referring back into for years to come, and I find paper books easier for that.
There wasn't much which was a surprise to me, but I really enjoyed the 90-day plan at the back of the book. Could have done with a little less of her clients and how they benefited from her recommendations.
Heavy on the anecdotes. Lots and lots and lots of repetitive language. Would have preferred a more scientific approach; there weren’t enough warnings surrounding herbs/supplements that would not mix well together, with certain ailments, or with medication.
I haven’t even completed this book and as a physician with an open mind and the belief in listening to patients, incorporating many forms of learning outside the textbook as a guide, the whole body and starting my own journey reading and learning about complimentary medicine, I am so very impressed with the relevance, wisdom, practical applicability, humility, and sheer helpfulness in both her words about reframing how we see our symptoms and struggles, but in her vast and wonderful and hopeful knowledge she gifts to her readers. I plan to use this book as a resource for my patients as well as myself. Thank you and I plan to both find an herbalist where I live for myself and to utilize my own research to help others, while referring this book to so many. Thank you, Chana. I’m also impressed how she takes Jewish wisdom and makes it usable and relatable to everyone. I am Jewish myself and honored to be part of the tribe, but I also love the inclusiveness in how she shares this beauty. You are a special soul and generous in sharing this knowledge for others to benefit without falling into the gimmicky, sales-driven way others diminish their worth. Wonderful. I highly recommend buying the paper copy so you can take notes on the book. I love having the kindle version as well, so I can read faster and on-the-go. Buying the paper version as we speak. Truly also integrates all forms of medicine, not turning her back on any possible utility, but also helpfully debunking various modalities that aren’t necessary (ie, liver detox). Clear, direct and compassionate. I am also so glad to hear her daughter’s terrifying, heartbreaking story came to a good end. I’m also impressed by her honesty about her own struggles, which takes bravery, but makes her a clear part of why this book shows authenticity. A fearlessness in being part of the journey and I love the validation of female struggle that is often invalidated and not heard. Thank you! You clearly are doing your part of tikkun olam in using your special gift.

This might be the first time you would have heard the word ‘Moodtopia’. So, it means being in control of your moods so they're not in control of you. Seems exciting? Yes, it is.

This is the best guide I have ever found to combat various problems with the help of natural remedies. This is the best book I have read about moods and it’s remedies.
The cover page is beautiful with a beautiful title. Language is simple and easy to understand.
I’m a huge fan of self help books and this one definitely stood out, it was so easy to read and the tips are easy to integrate into a busy schedule. My daughter loved the recipes in the book, she made the famous tea recipe and the protein balls. We cannot live a day without the tea and take the protein balls on day trips which is a totally life saver. I’ve integrated a few herbs into our daily lives as well (lemon balm for my daughter and motherwort for me), it has definitely taken the edge off of grumpiness I feel in the afternoons. I will definitely be referring to this book on a regular basis!
What would you do if suddenly your adult daughter became a quadriplegic? Anything you could, right? That’s exactly what the author of this book did. They had given up hope, until a grumpy nurse restarted their fire. They started using essential oils in the hospital room to combat the usual hospital smells, and only let the most positive of people around. And of course, that made everyone feel better.
If you are looking for a way to de-stress and find emotional and mental balance, “Moodtopia” is an excellent resource for new and soon to be mothers. Consider Moodtopia your primary resource for wellness. Its pages contain a wealth of wisdom and practical advice served up in a soothing, reader-friendly manner. I devoured the book in one sitting and will buy copies for my family and friends. What greater gift to share with others than these tried and true gleanings for good health? This book is a precious gift to all invested in feeling their best.
This is a great book. Moodtopia was easy to understand and I learned simple ways to improve my mood which immediately improved my daily life. As a woman with chronic health conditions, I liked that the tips and tools in the book have no harmful side effects. The author is knowledgable and her story is compelling.
My friends have asked "what's different about you?" I tell them about Moodtopia. One book can change your life.
