The reason more Christians do not live victoriously is because they do not know Satan’s strategy. Before he became a pastor, Phil Hopper was a member of the Kansas City Police Department and SWAT team. He received intensive training and gained valuable experience in identifying the characteristics of individual criminals in order to bring them justice. In this extraordinary Bible study, Pastor Hopper takes us on an investigative look at the Bible passages that describe our enemy and the way that he wages war against us. As you follow Pastor Hopper in his study of this topic through the Bible, you will clearly see who your enemy is; how he is coming against you; and the deliverance we have through Christ Jesus.
Pastor Hopper writes in a way that is very open, readable and relatable. He includes examples of his experiences on the KCPD and in his own personal life to help illustrate the enemy’s tactics and how knowing them in advance can help us avoid the enemy establishing a stronghold in our life.
I would highly recommend this book to you, as it’s already made a great impact in my own life. It would be an excellent study for any large or small Bible study group. I rarely give five-star ratings to any book, but this book certainly deserves that rating.

Phil Hopper's book is quite an eye opener. It showed me the deceptiveness that 'the slander' (Satan) gets up to. I've learnt to reconize more easily how he tries to slowly lead you into his traps. Also the way he makes a situation look good and eventually squeezes the life out of it to entrap you. Important read and will help you through life.

This book will prepare your heart to yield your life to Christ and to denounce satan's claim on your life. We Christians need to take hold of God's promises and start living more victorious lives, rather than living in fear and confusion. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to break free from satan's clutches.

Phil Hopper is my personal pastor at Abundant Life Church here in Missouri, and him preaching about the Devil is the primary reason I made Abundant Life my home. Jesus preached four times more about Satan than He did about anything else, and I'm convinced God speaks through Pastor Phil in the same way. Pastor Phil brings awareness to Christians that our Enemy stalks us from the darkness, studying our weaknesses so he can ultimately offer us the bait to capture our souls.
In this book, Pastor Phil shines light on Satan's tactics and combats them with Scripture that arms us with insight on defeating the Evil One.
Did you know that Satan was a musical instrument? Or that he was meant to be the worship leader for the angelic hosts? We probably all know that he was once an angel of light, but there are so many details about Satan that I learned in the first two chapters of this book.
It's vital when in battle that you really know who you're facing off with, and after reading this book, I definitely feel confident facing the Devil. I know who he disguises himself as: fear, doubt, lust, shame, guilt. But now I know what he looks like under the surface: a fallen angel that once was light and has been judged by God to become darkness.
If I could recommend only one book to others for the rest of my life (excluding the Bible), this book would be the one I choose. It's packed with information every Christian should know about their adversary. If knowledge is power, I feel spiritually supercharged after reading this! They always say that the voices in your life influence your destination. Listen to Jesus speak through Phil Hopper in this book and you'll most definitely be free of captivity to sin and bound for eternity in Heaven.

Eye Opener
Excellent description of the human experience! Phil does a great job of explaining the difference between being rescued and being healed. This is what many consider hypocracy but is the true condition of one who only goes half way in their faith journey. Lots of fun stories too. I was hoping for a little more in the way of hands on equipping to overcome...but ultimately it's there...it's in submission not suppression! Excellent and quick read.

I found the book well written and easy to read. It contains a very powerful message that all who claim to be followers of Christ need to hear. For me it provided a much needed missing piece of my life's puzzle and provided sound Biblical direction and counsel which I will use to reclaim my authority over Satan.

Hopper's background in Police work makes for an interesting read. He interjects stories from his own experience that enhance the teaching aspects of the book. This passage has been widely treated in other writing, but it seems to have a freshness that make it worth the read. I recommend.

Excellent read on spiritual warfare. Good insight reminding us that we need to stay diligent. Biblically solid. Phil Hopper is also a phenomenal speaker! Highly recommend.
