Shot from the hip—this book is concise and directed specifically for female entrepreneurs ready to get on with writing that book. You know. The one that has been waiting half a lifetime to get written. Here you will find step-by-step how to get writing now. This is a 'no more excuses' book that can become your launch pad to accomplishing your 'mission impossible' goal when you first picked up this book.

To balance out the work portions of this book (which is where you will actually put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard) are brief, but concise glimpses of successful women who are making a difference and meeting the needs of other people. If reading about their successes and following Bigwarfe's specific steps are not enough to motivate you, then I'm uncertain what will.

If you are ready to get started (or knock off the dust from the manuscript hiding in the back of your closet) on your writing journey, whether it be just one book or many, here you will find a beautiful starting point with lots of specific steps to help you along the way. Well done, Alexa, and thank you for all the key takeaways. This book could become one of your key library resources, now and in the future. So, what are you waiting for? Ditch the Fear and Just Write It!

This short book is part encouragement, part workbook. The audience is for female entrepreneurs, to encourage them to write books that will grow their different businesses. The author confidently believes it can be done, and that the results are worth it. To support that point, the author fills the books with profiles of female entrepreneurs from many different businesses who have risen to the challenge of writing a book, what that process was like for them, and what the results so far have been. Then the book ends with a 90 day journal of affirmations to help the writer get the book written without losing any energy.

I've written plenty of fiction, but because of the angle this book approaches, I am inspired to write non-fiction. In being an inspiring book, it is a success. An easy read recommended to female entrepreneurs who are thinking of the idea. It could work for male entrepreneurs, too, as long as they aren't put off by a book with no male presence.

Asking “Why?” is such an important step in writing a book as well as giving yourself permission to do it. In this book, Alexa takes one through the various stages of overcoming the barriers in your way to write that book simmering inside you. Exercises, testimonials and no-excuses advice makes this an excellent resource.

“Your story is needed too. There is someone who needs the skills and lessons you can teach, the resources you can provide. Believe it and Just Write It!” This message comes across many times (and in many guises) throughout the book. It is my favourite take away from reading DTF.

The journal at the back is quite innovative and a great way to keep one accountable.

My favourite daily affirmation: “I am a writer and people need my book!”

Alexa was able to combine all the issues that make writing a book difficult and five great solutions to overcome them – whether you are her target audience of female entrepreneurs wanting to write a book to expand their business or an author looking for a bit of inspiration.
