I was born and raised in the South and even hung my motorcycle helmet in Colorado for a few months. I've always had a touch of wanderlust and have never feared just packing up and going on new adventures, whether in real life or via the pages of a great book.

When I was a little girl, I didn't want to grow up to be a writer—I wanted to raise unicorns and be a superhero. When those gigs fell through, I chose the next best thing: creating my own magical lands filled with adventure, magic, humor, and romance.

I live in Florida with my two dogs and when I'm not writing or reading, I'm racing motorcycles with my taller, more handsome half, hanging out at the beach, or binge-watching anything magical on Netflix.

I'm eternally grateful for all the people who help make my life what is today - friends, readers, family. No woman is an island.

Bubble, Bubble, Here Comes Trouble found (which is numbered 1.5 on Amazon and 3.5 on Goodreads) in the 'Witches of Keyhole Lake' series written by Tegan Maher. This is one of the A Witches of Keyhole Lake short stories within the series.

I read this much later than when I read the whole numbers of the series. It was nice to visit with folks I had been acquainted with in the past. It was very short and the plotline and characters' experiences were restricted.

BOOK DESCRIPTION:

Halloween is supposed to be fun, right? It's Flynn's family tradition to host Keyhole Lake's annual Halloween party. This year, Noelle is in charge, and she's about to lose it. Between forgetting to pick up the candy and trying to work around a histrionic, living-impaired aunt, things are spiraling out of control fast.

The situation goes from bad to worse when she buys a cool crystal pendant in a thrift shop because it isn't long before she finds out that what she really bought is trouble. A restless spirit starts appearing in unlikely places and leaving cryptic messages around the house just hours before the party's set to begin.

A surprising twist helps Noelle pull off what might just be the spookiest Halloween party in history.

I was excited to find that Books 1-7 of the full-length books in this series are available through Kindle unlimited. However, I was disappointed to discover that the short story 'fill'in's' are NOT available through Kindle Unlimited, which means there is a small charge for a book of less than 50 pages. I did not read them and at first, felt somewhat confused, but I did not feel that I missed that much, since there was a summary about it mentioned in the following books.

This book is definitely too short to develop a solid plot-line and individual character evolvement. It wasn't overwhelmingly spectacular. However, it did give it a good run for the money.

Witches, Ghosts and Halloween. The story follows Noelle's efforts to recreate the traditional Halloween party with lots of help from everyone. Cute, fun and short.

Fun paranormal short. This was the first of the Witches of Keyhole Lake books I read. At the time, I thought "cute" but I'm not really into novellas. When I re-read it as part of the whole series I enjoyed it much more.

Witch or Treat: A Collection of Paranormal Cozy Shorts - Ooops, I waited to long to read this collection and now it's not available on Amazon. Oh well, this is a good set of short stories, most of which can be read without having read the previous books in their series. There was one that this doesn't apply. One is gosh-awful. I was introduced to several unknown authors, but I got this for the authors I enjoy reading: Regina and Lynn, Joynell, D. S. and Ruby. Now I have more authors that I would like to read again. All the shorts have a summary, which I appreciate knowing about a story before I read it. Some of these are spoilers (part of a series) and some aren't. Most books needed minor editing.

Nikki Haverstock, The Case of the Exploding Luck Pumpkin - My first story by this author. I found it funny, entertaining, but I kept seeing Vin Diesel as the Vin Mage), and interesting with good sexual tension. 4*

Danielle Garrett, Cats, Bats, and Talking Hats - My first story by this author. I found it not to my liking. There were continuous references to previous stories without details explaining them. This story fits between the first two books of the Beechwood Harbor Magic series. 3*

Regina Welling and Erin Lynn, One Spell of A Night - I enjoy what I've read so far by these two ladies. This book follows No Chance in Spell. I found it interesting, fast paced and intriguing, and the characters are likable. 4*

Sonia Parin, 'tis the Season to be Creepy - My first story by this author. I found it funny and interesting. The communication is different. Luna is likable. I'll be reading more by Ms. Parin. 4*

Joynell Schultz, The Supernatural Life of a Superhero Wife - I enjoy reading anything by Ms. Schultz. Although I don't care for the superhero genre, I found this story to be funny, cute and entertaining, with a perfectly matched pair of characters. 4*

Ani Gonzalez, The Mystery of the Halloween Mask - My first story by this author, I think, although I found the store very familiar? I found it a funny, entertaining, fast paced and quickly read story. 4*

Cate Lawley, How to Date a Witch - My first story by this author. I found it well written and interesting, and it had good characters, I like Ben the best. The story wasn't ruined by not knowing the Vegan Vamp world. 4*

Ruby Blaylock, Hexing the Ex - I enjoy reading stories by Ms. Blaylock. I found this story interesting, fast paced and well written, with good characters. 4*

Amanda A. Allen, Costumes and Cauldrons - My first story by this author. I found it interesting and the characters likable. 4*

D. S. Butler, Harper Grant and the Poisoned Pumpkin Pie - I enjoyed reading some of the Harper Grant series and this was no exception. This is a short story filled with humor, magic and laughs. This time there isn't a murder, but there's an investigation that gets stopped when a big investigation happens. Harper uses a little magic and wonders if her magic caused the poisoning. Good for a coffee break or a little down time; very relaxing. Still clean. 4*

Ava Mallory, Witches & Stitches - My first story by this author. I found it hilarious, a bit intriguing and lots of fun to read. 4*

Pearl Goodfellow, GoB (Game of Bones) - My first story by this author. I found it rather stupid and in major need of editing. They're locked in a room and know the murder will be back with another can of neurotoxin, so they stand around gabbing, instead of blocking the faceplate. At least the cats are cool, when the writer isn't making them stupid. 3*

Karny McFlynn, Howling Ian - My first story by this author and I don't care for her writing style. The part with envelope was ridiculous and confusing from there on. Skimming to find the end, I discovered an incomplete story, but not a cliffhanger since the story doesn't have any intrigue or suspense. 1*

Tegan Maher, Bubble, Bubble, Here Comes Trouble - My first story by this author. I found it interesting, funny, entertaining with a touch of intrigue. The characters are likable. 4*

April Aasheim, A Dark Root Samhain - My first story by this author. I found it interesting, simple and a quick read. The characters are likable. 3*

I enjoyed this book, though it was short, (more of a novella) and the ending was abrupt!

Still, the story was entertaining (especially on a cold October night). This story was told from a first-person point of view which made it easy to understand. This is the bridge between books 1 and 2 in the series Witches of Key Hole Lake series. The story centers around the Flynn family and their annual Halloween party. Key Hole Lake is home to a lot of ghosts and the Flynn witches. Aunt Abby is the resident ghost in the Flynn home but there are a few others too. Also, a ghost is Angus who has a part in this book,

While picking up candy in town for the party Noelle sees a blue crystal pendant in her friend's clothing shop and she just has to have it. So, she does. Unknown to Noelle, the pendant carries the spirit of a past town citizen who drowned back in the 1970s. Noelle dresses as a fortune teller and someone finds an Ouji Board to use. Thus, the fun begins, It truly becomes a fun, memorable, and spooky Halloween party that many citizens of Key Hole Lake will remember for a long time.

The characters are fun, interesting, and well-written. The plot is rather thin but it's fun.

The only fault I have is that the author could have included descriptions of the food (and maybe included a recipe or two). :)

A great addition to the series and a spooky Halloween story

Noelle is responsible for the Flynn family's Halloween party for the first time, that's not to say Aunt Addy's ghost isn't around to give her two cents worth. While in the final stages of preparation Noelle becomes aware that a new spirit is in the house she can manipulate the world around her unlike normal ghosts so Noelle is worried about what might happen at the party, unfortunately it's too late to cancel so everyone has no choice but to go ahead and hope for the best.

Just reading this short Novella made interested in exploring further Tegan Maher books. This story had a witch living in small town. Several resident ghosts, including the witch's aunt, town drunk and a few others. The story centers around a traditional Halloween party that the deceased Aunt held every year. The aunt of course is verbally supervising. They are harried by the preparations when the main character begins to see visions of a young woman. Who is she? Why can only our young witch see her? What trouble is coming. Short story for Halloween.

When Halloween comes to town, Noelle and her gang are all set to create a special Halloween party for the beloved town, but with their penchant for attracting trouble, is it possible for Halloween to go without something Witchy?

When a crystal catches Noelle's attention she creates a connection to the ghost of a young woman but the catch is Noelle is the only one who can see her.

This short yet fun book will create a magical bubble for you full of magic, fun and laughter.

I read this book and loved it enough to review it.

I really wanted to like this book because I enjoy witchy cozy mysteries but I just didn't.

That may be my fault since this is 3.5 in a series and I haven't read any of the others so please give it a bit of leeway.

This story follows some girls who are pulling together a Halloween party. One of them finds a necklace which apparently has a spirit trapped inside and they think the spirit is haunting them.

There wasn't much to the story but don't turn away from it just because of my review. I'd say read the others in the series first cause starting here wasn't a good idea.

Don't skip the half books!!

Call them whatever you want...little novelettes, short stories or half books, just be sure you don't miss them like I originally did!! I missed books 1.5 and 2.5 because 1 and 2 didn't tell me about them. At least book 3 stressed book 3.5!! And then there's a 4.5 that I almost missed. Trust me, there's TONS of important little details in these stories that just help make the true novels make that much more sense.

It's Halloween and time for the annual Halloween party at the Flynn farm. Noelle is scrambling to get things ready and Aunt Addy is in a tizzy giving out orders since she can't help herself. A new spirit shows up before the party ever starts and everyone is hoping for a safe party. Lots of laughs with good characters and plot really bring this Halloween party to life!

A quick read

I love the series. Being from the south originally I can hear the accent and love 💘 the phrasing. People think southerners are dumb or slow because of their speech but not....
I just wish there was a was a way to know where the shorts fit into series. I finished it now going back to read the shorts and realized they fit in somewhere....

Short but sweet

This is one of a few short stories that should be read between books as they are discussed in the books that follow. I found them by accident when the books kept talking about different things that happened that I never read about.
This one is about Angus and Trouble.

Short but satisfying

I just love my visits to Keyhole Lake! This time, Noelle's not dealings with a murder. Aunt Addy is micromanaging (from beyond the veil) the family's annual Halloween festivities while Hunter, Raeann, and Shelby worry about Noelle's new acquaintance. The author packs so much into this brief story that this reader was surprised to arrive at the ending!

I absolutely love these novellas that give us a great story in between the larger books!

This one was definitely one I think could have been one of the full books but that doesn't detain me from loving it!!

Im so glad we were able to see the story for Angus and how much this town really pulls together.

It really makes me want to move here!

A short, but informative story!!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS SHORT STORY!!
If you read all the books in order, without the short stories...this one tells us about 2 of the characters.
Be warned, it's so sweet, it might make you cry...

Loved the book

It's Halloween and Noelle and Shelby decide to hold the farm's annual Halloween party, after collecting the candy from Anna Mae and finding a pretty turquoise pendant, Noelle sees a ghost or a vision are they connected or is trouble just around the corner.

This is the first book in the series that I picked up. Not ideal, starting at book 1.5, but with it being a short novella - there was little risk. This book read as a stand alone and I'm excited to start this series at the beginning.

Love the southern charm of this story.

Now I know

Now I know how Trouble came to be in the series. I've read all the novels but not the short stories so I knew Trouble existed but not now she got there. Glad I read this one.
