Two fan-favorite stories about a dangerous attraction and suspense-filled nights... Night Shift Her voice is like whiskey, smooth and potent, but it's her contradictions that fascinate Detective Boyd Fletcher--the vulnerability beneath her tough-as-nails facade. Late-night radio announcer Cilla O'Roarke is being threatened by a sinister caller, and it's Boyd's job to protect her no matter what. But the sultry DJ gets under his skin, and the undeniable chemistry that sizzles between them makes the detective uneasy...
Night Moves Maggie Fitzgerald has retreated from her former fast-paced life, seeking solitude to heal her broken heart. But her new landscaper, Cliff Delaney, is gruff and abrupt--and somehow irresistible. And when a body is found too close to home, shattering her peace entirely, Maggie is forced into the arms of the very man she finds so aggravating. The trouble is, Cliff is the prime suspect in the investigation. Has Maggie fallen for a good man with a rough exterior...or a coldhearted killer?
Nora Roberts is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of more than 200 novels, including Hideaway, Under Currents, Come Sundown, The Awakening, Legacy, and coming in November 2021 -- The Becoming -- the second book in The Dragon Heart Legacy. She is also the author of the futuristic suspense In Death series written under the pen name J.D. Robb. There are more than 500 million copies of her books in print.
Liked the second one a bit more than the first. Althea was my fave in first (sorry h & H) and Maggie’s music so captured me in the second. So I really want to read Nightshade (Althea’s story) next. In both stories the steam was too explicit so I happily skipped the majority of those pages.
5 Stars Night Shift: Nice, romance story. You get a mystery-thrillerish that brings two people together in this one. Cilla and Boyd worked well together. I can see Cilla being an actual DJ. Loved the music that was "played". :-)
2 Stars Night Moves: This book was actually kind of boring. It was so slow in the beginning and I don't think I would've made it to the end if I hadn't been listening to it. I did finish it in one day, but only because I had quite a bit of stuff to do around the house and so it played non-stop.
The characters were not ones that I will remember later. It might be because this book was written awhile ago, but I just couldn't really get into it enough to care. Oh well...the author writes so many novels that I guess she was meant to have a dud :-(
So this book was beyond annoying the main character Cilla is very stubborn and rude throughout the book, so much that it makes it a really impossible to believe in the love story. The cop Boyd that falls in love with the annoying Cilla is a Total jerk that forces his way on to Cilla, literally takes her without her consent. It’s really stupid and crosses the boundaries of consent and goes towards creepy and stalkerish(yes I know that’s not a word). Both main characters bothered me throughout the book. The last page of the chapter when she agrees to marry him is the only page where both characters are believable.

Both stories were really good. They were a couple I hadn't read back when they were first out. Nora Roberts is such a Good author, these did not disappoint. Both kept me wanting to read all night. Sexy men and strong, independent women, equals a Hot Sex.........Great Combination!
Just not something I enjoyed. Never got into the main characters or their predicaments so the suspense was lost. Always wanted to try Nora Roberts, but won't read another.
I don't usually read books with more than one story. But sometimes I do. Between the two stories here, I think I like the first one more than the second. Both are fine.
