I wanted to love this series. Now, I don't even know if I can like it. If you've gotten this far in the series then you'll what I'm talking about. I don't want to ruin this for anyone, so please don't read if you're not ready for spoilers. I'm going to put this in list form, because it helps me keep track of what I read and why. Also, I love lists.

>>>>>>>>>>>SPOILERS AHEAD<<<<<<<<<<<<<

What didn't work for me:
The pet names. Sweetheart, Cutie, and Bitch (this is a term of endearment to Austin, I guess) were overused.
Coffee. It is not a hobby, interest, or character trait in most of us, it's something we enjoy, like pizza or something. For Kit it's all 3. That's who Kit is.
Cal and the great misunderstanding. Again.
Vali. Do we need him? Do we need two Dragons? I mean Cole is good. He's enough. Vali doesn't do much. Sometimes I forget about him. Don't worry. Kit will have sex with him too. SHE hasn't forgotten him.
Wes. Kind of creepy and not so cute.
Kit. Kit loves coffee, sex, and her boys. She's pretty special. She never has to train thanks to her ink mage. She can fly off the handle, not think things through, and get herself into a world of shit and get bailed out by her boys. So she spends most of this book doing what she loves. And nothing happens. I'm not sure what the guys find so amazing that they ALL proclaim their love for her. I mean, there are LOTS of women that like coffee and sex. That's easy. No need to fight over one. And they kind of do. They're all still a little jealous.
Lack of plot. I really don't even know what's happening anymore. Cause unless Kit drank it in her coffee or had sex with it, it's easy to lose.

It wasn't a complete wash though!!

What did work for me:
Dragons!
Riding Dragons!
Tyson. Familiars are cool.
Sssssam. Familiars are funny. More familiars please.
Hey, no more fighting with Austin!
Towards the end the plot comes back (just in time for its cliffhanger). But it's back!

So that's cool. If Kit can grow up a bit and get some depth that would be cool too.

second read and review.

The Viper's Nest is another book that made me fall in love with Austin. Yet, I feel like Wes is kind of in the friend zone a bit still - so I'm hoping that get's fixed soon. Don't get me wrong, she's getting a bit closer with Vali, Austin, and him.. but for some weird reason I need more from her and Wes. Other than that, I'm enjoying her relationships with the guys. They are all growing together as a unit which is highly entertaining. Still possibly waiting for one big orgy but I feel like I'm just going to keep waiting for that shit to happen.

Other than that, I still hate her mom and Simon. Also, side note - I have no idea how the hell this guy is freaking alive. Give me your tears gypsy because he should be dead and remain dead. Just saying. Also, I hate him.

Overall, I need more from these guys. Can they magically step up their game even thought the ONLY book I haven't read before in this series is book 6? Ugh, I hate life but I hope I love the ending of this series.

Holy freaking cannoli guys!

The Viper's Nest was a freaking FANTASTIC addition to this AMAZING series. No really.. it is! I'm in loved with this entire thing so far and I'm actually kind of happy that I tagged along on this wonderful BR with wonderful people because I'm pretty sure we all fell in love with every book.

Okay, so this book is a multiple POV and I just enjoy the heck out of it! I loved seeing Kit interacting with all of the guys. I also really liked seeing her character grow with all of this bonding happening with her guys. I ALSO FREAKING LOVED ALL OF THE SEXUAL TENSION GOOEYNESS BETWEEN HER AND MY MAN AUSTIN!

Yeah, I just love Austin. Then there was smut, oh the smut! There was action! There was betrayal because of freaking bridget being bridget! UGH! I was so mad that she was in this book and then tried to sneak up on Kit acting like mother of the year! UH NO BITCH GO DO WHAT YOU DO BEST: DISAPPEAR.

Then there's that ending! THE FREAKING CLIFFHANGERS GUYS! They always get to me and right now I'm really concerned because Simon is freaking alive again.. as like a zombie or whatever gross thing he is now. He has weird magical handcuffs on Kit. OH and Wes has been knocked unconscious. I will be sending lots of prayers up to baby jesus because I need all of her other men to figure out what the hell is happening and find her ASAP. Also.. I need Simon to die again and ya know.. stay dead.

UGH so much happened. I can't believe I read this book in like an hour. I need more. I'm freaking out.

Overall, I loved this book - obviously! I love the characters and how these stories just keep getting better and better. I can't wait for the next book to come out!!

BR with the girls at Reverse Harem Revolution~

Rating : 3 stars
2 stars + 1 star because i really liked the previous books

I'm disfigured, perpetually stuck in an eye-rolling expression.

You know I love this series. Tate James is doing an amazing job at quickly releasing interesting full length novels. It has steam, sass, hot guys, fun and action. Also romance, a tiger pet and two moody dragons. The dream.

But The Viper's Nest is a disappointment.

- 50% of sex, 50% of story. And by that, I mean 50% of sex, 35% of almost sex and 15% of story. Bedroom, kitchen, jacuzzi, car, hotel, motorbike,... Which is kind of understanding when you're juggling six boyfriends, but us readers start to skim after a bit.
- The relationships are less mastered than in the previous books. Not than I complain, but we almost see nothing of River. But also Cole or Vali, and I like my dragons.
- The Bridget drama bullshit is TOO MUCH. It's annoying as fuck, and while she's supposedly an important character since book two, just get rid of her.
- Each secondary character has his own agenda. But you never know which way the wind is blowing and i'm starting to feel really annoyed about that.
- And why, oh WHY the fucking epilogue?
ep·i·logue
ˈepəˌlôɡ,ˈepəˌläɡ/
noun
noun: epilogue; plural noun: epilogues; noun: epilog; plural noun: epilogs

a section or speech at the end of a book or play that serves as a comment on or a conclusion to what has happened.
Not as a pretext to add an annoying little cliffhanger.
- Caleb, urgh.
- And no vampire smut *sad face*

But despite my ranting and my obvious conflicted feelings, I am now desperately waiting for the next book and still can't get enough of Austin. I like how they don't shy away from the l-word and finally admitted their feelings -which we knew about since book one.
Only two books left, I hope it will be nicely wrapped up. And soon we will finally learn what the fuck are River and Wes .

2nd time reading

I agree with my past review, this is the best book so far. This series just gets better as it goes and I love it. We're building up the drama and action with all these bad guys and evil plots, plus the guys are coming into their abilities more and more. Now the twins have their mage abilities and it's pretty awesome. I also adore Tyson, Austin's familiar. I want a tiger!

This is coming together so well and I enjoy seeing the guys bond with each other and bring the group closer. I'm still loving the audiobooks and now I'm on to book five!

**************************************

This was probably my favorite book of the series so far. It had good pacing and the smut was top shelf lol! But seriously, there were some pretty hot scenes whew. I love that Kit has formed more bonds with her dianoch and they're getting along now. There was a lot of magic and abilities, fighting, cute parts, and smut and it was a fun read! I am so excited to get to the next book.

This series is such a guilty pleasure! They're so addictive, but I have to admit the plot gets more and more ridiculous. I'm not feeling that cliffhanger ending at all!
Character wise, I loved this one! Huge progress is made with Vali and Wesley and Austin, but the others aren't ignored. She bonds more of them and I'm worried about how it gets worse each time-maybe she won't be able to bond them all? As long as that issue isn't solved by any of them dying, I'm okay! I'm surprised River still isn't changed though, it's quite late in the game for him. I still think Jonathan isn't as bad as he seems and this talk of a 'war' may just redeem him. Bridgit, however, is a bitch.
This book was funnier than I thought it'd be! It's definitely fun and not as heavy as the others. I love Sam the snake and Austin's new tattoo!
I can't wait for The Crow's Murder. These are honestly just so much fun!

I didn't hate it and i didn't love it.

I know authors think having secrecy is a good plot twist, I find it a little annoying, at least this far into a series.

There was nothing overly exciting about this book but I enjoy the series so of course I will continue with the series.

Huh…well now that it's over I'm just…disappointed. While stuff happened, like the car chase, magic training, multiple bondings, the story didn't really go anywhere. Kit got a whole bunch of new abilities, had a ton of sex, and got zero answers and quite a few new questions to add to the list. It was okay while I was reading but now that it's over, I'm just left wanting. And this one really isn't anywhere near as good as the first few, not as funny, not as clever, not as suspenseful or exciting. I honestly want to know how everything turns out, I mean I'm already four books in, what's two more? But I just checked out book five and it wasn't on KU, so I don't know. Hopefully it'll come back eventually, and I can find out what happens in Wes and River's books, but I don't see myself paying for them just to satisfy my curiosity. Especially since this one was such a let down compared to the beginning of the series.

"Well, there was all the noise and people and everything when he first showed up, and it turns out that because I'm scared of him…well, he's scared of me too. Or all humans."
This time I really couldn't bite my cheek any harder, and a few little chuckles bubbled out before I could rein them in. "Ah, how do you know that?"
He looked seriously unimpressed as he replied to that question. "Because we can communicate telepathically. When anyone gets close, he's all curses and threats about biting. He's a real fucking asshole, Kitty Kat; I have to be honest."
Oh, God. This keeps getting better.
"So, um," I chuckled, not trying to stop myself anymore. "Why is Cole trying? He's not the friendliest human we have."
Caleb rolled his eyes like the answer should have been obvious. "No, but he's a reptile. Surely they can, like, recognize their own kind or something."
"Of course," I snickered. "How silly of me. Do you want me to try? I actually like snakes. They're cool creatures."
Caleb looked aghast. "Kitty Kat…they have no ears!"
"Well, it's a good thing you can talk telepathically then, isn't it?"

3.5⭐️ This group can’t catch a goddamn break. I’m exhausted but I can’t stop reading. Gotta say, my favorite part was Cal being scared of his familiar 😂 so funny. Austin is still my number one guy although Wes is closing the gap!

After successfully bonding with Austin, Kit is still learning how to deal with his powers and learn to balance the new powers of her dianoch. They are still on the run from Director Pierre and they don't have the answers that they need. As Kit and her dianoch become stronger, their enemies seem to become more numerous.

I am so invested in this series. Like I can't stop reading it. The only reason I pause between books is so I can try to write a coherent review about each installment. I don't know what to say about this one that won't be mildly spoiler-y so you've been warned.

I loved getting to see Kit work with Austin's powers, and I also loved that they finally worked out their shit. It was hot and also very necessary. I am glad they didn't kill each other. Austin's familiar was so funny and cute. I loved that Tyson didn't take any of Austin's shit and was constantly trying to cuddle with Kit despite being a 500 pound Bengal tiger.

I was sad when the meeting with her dad was interrupted, I'd been so looking forward to hearing his side of the story. I hope he'll get another chance to explain himself. The guys as always were amazing. I seriously love them so much. I loved that they got to stay in a house for a little bit as well and have a chance to see what a calmer life might look like.

The ending was insane and I loved every minute of it. I am so ready for the next book because we will finally get answers about Wesley!! And I need more of Kit's harem ASAP.

I was wondering throughout this book why so much of it was calm. Kit bonded more with her guys, acclimated herself to learning magic and even had some hot ass sex with Austin. But then the last like 20% came and then the epilogue and I’m screaming. If I was worried about the title of this book it was nothing like how I feel for the next.
I did enjoy Kit finally being with all her guys, each one is so different and even the way the f#ck is unique, hot and fits their personality and relationship with kit to a T. From Vali and sex on Rivers car in public to angry passionate sex with Austin on the kitchen counter covered in baked goods, the Book was def hot. Kit also magically bonds with a few of her guys and I’m looking forward to her learning to use their magic, the dragons particularly. She had some scales show up on her arm and I hope she’s able to eventually shift and fly. I don’t have any trust in her mother and the fact that she was drugging Caleb is beyond suspect. But at least the truth is out and Kit even got a face to face with her birth giver. I also suspected Simon would be back but damn if I wasn’t surprised how and when he decided to pop back in. I have a feeling it has something to do with the doctor who took her blood and has been experimenting on it. Either way I am so ready for the next installment and as much as Kit hates having to be rescued, I’m eager to see how her guys will do just that.

***2020 Review***
This book was a lot slower than some of the previous ones. Given that I thought it would be more focused on Caleb, he really didn’t become the star until the end and then stage was quickly passed onto Wesley, our crow, before ending segueing into his book up next. We did finally get to meet his familiar and damn if that whole experience wasn’t hilarious. Still hate how the cliffy from the last book wasn’t actually addressed until the end here, and really that whole thing with her mom has me mad. I mean I’m glad she punched her don’t get me wrong, I’m just pissed everyone so quickly believes that bracelet is good and working 🤦🏽‍♀️ At least Kit finally got to meet the infamous Bridget and didn’t give her an inch, I’m ready for the final showdown but first Wesley and River have to bond with her and learn about themselves and their powers.

So... that just happened.
I'm actually at loss for words, not knowing what to say. You see, the majority of the book was really mellow, and not much was happening. Not to say that I was bored, not at all. After all, the writing was great and I love the characters, so every time we spend with them is a time spent great. But that also means that all the action was squeezed into the last fifty pages or so and now my head is spinning with everything that happened.
“I’d just taken on a whole insane amount of information, and it felt a bit like my head was about to explode.”
One thing is for sure - no one can be trusted outside of Kit and her dianoch. Jonathan is an idiot and no matter his reasoning, they shouldn't even contemplate seeing him again. Also, whatever you might think about Bridget, I absolutely do not trust that bitch. I mean, even her own dianoch do not trust her and that is saying something. And, I would think really long and hard before putting on any kind of amulet made by her. You'll see, that shit will come to bight everyone in the ass soon.
Aside from that, is it only me, or is anyone else annoyed by the fact that some people just won't stay dead?! I'm getting pretty tiered of some individuals appearing again and again. Like, just stay dead, dude. How hard can it be?

But, heavy stuff aside, does anyone find it weird how, the asshole like Austin gets an incredibly sweet and cuddly familiar like Tyson, while funny and nice Caleb gets a familiar who's clearly a dick, with a name like Sssssam? That's some weird twin mojo right their.
Also, can Kit get a familiar now that she's got powers of two strong magicians? That would've been cool.

But, anyway, I'm still loving the series. I just wish the books did not end with a hell of a cliffhanger every damn time. But, yeah. Great stuff.

Second read and review July 2019

THIS SERIES! It absolutely kills me! I love it so much. The story continues to get better and better with each book.

Kit takes on more powers as she bonds with her guardians and she just continues to grow. She is a coffee fanatic and sometimes the coffee bits are a little obnixious. Lol. But she is so original. There hasn't been a character in a RH that I have liked/loved more than Kit.

This is definitely a favorite series of mine and I feel like I'd never tire of it! :D

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First read and review February 2019
This series is definitely 100% the best reverse harem series I have read thus far. It has everything needed to make a wonderfully perfect book/series.
The story line is so intriguing. There is so much going on to hold your interest that you can help but not want to put this book down.
The characters are all written so well. All the guys are hot as fuck. And I can't help but fangirl squeal every time Kit has sexy time with each of them. And I can't wait to get more threesomes. Although I want something bigger than a threesome! ;D
And let me just mention that epilogue though. WHY! Why THE FUCK did it need to end like that?! SHIT! Now I have to wait how damn long for the next one!?
Definitely recommend this series. 100%
I've been taking a short break and used that time to read other books but I'm finally back in this world and I love it. I don't have much to say except that I hate Jonathan and her mother. I really don't trust her or her intentions toward Kit and her guardians. Something's fishy, I'm telling you! The smut is always great and this book was no exception. In this book, Kit bonded with a few of them so that was cool. I'll be reading the next one soon. The Viper's nest ends up on a cliffhanger. I wasn't surprised but it still makes me want to read more.
This has to be one of the most addicting series ever. I read all the books really close together, which I never do. I can't wait for the next one. Wesley is still my favorite, he gets a good amount of time in this book too! Austin is growing on me, and I still like all of the others. Cal is still my least favorite, even though he is sweet. There's a lot of mystery going on in this one, but I liked how the beginning of the book was them sort of taking some time off from trying to be killed.
I wanted to love this book. I really did.
However, it has sex, sexual tension, people thinking about sex, people watching sex, people complaining they not getting enough sex. Oh and some plot. I don't mind steam in my novels, not at all, but this series set itself up for a really interesting plot, then isn't doing much with it.
Kit and co are on the run and are going to hide out and investigate what is going on with Omega and let Kit learn to deal with the new ink magic she acquired, let the dragons get control of themselves cause randomly going dragon in public = bad and Caleb get control of his blood magic because it is his book.
Oh and they all develop a case of the stupid. Maybe because all the sex. Then we also have to have random problem with Wes plugged in to set up his book.
Potential High level spoilers below which are really more of rant.
Instead, we get Austin and Kit sessions consist of each complaining the other sucks at learning or teaching, and a building of sexual tension. Because despite the fact they can feel each others emotions, they can't really tell what the other is feeling. So teaching becomes less about magic and more about the relationship. Learning magic is solved by giving her a spell to learn so we can get back to all important sex
Caleb's worried she will hate him because of the secret's the spelled NDA is making him keep so he'd risk her life rather then risk her hating him.....
Then we get Jonathan must be the only bad guy out there so every bad act must be attributed to him even if it is out of character. SHOCK, he's not the only one who wants Kit. Oh and River and Wes spend a bunch of time researching and hinting at what they found and want to confirm before sharing with Kit but I cannot remember if they even shared what they found, because if they did it was a couple of paragraphs and glossed over.
I'm not sure why three stars to be honest, other then I wanted to like it. Really should be more like a 2.5. Maybe because dragons! I do like that Vali cares about his brother and while he wants Kit, he doesn't want her at the expensive of ruining any chance at repairing his relationship with Cole. That was at least well handled.
Nope.
There’s wasn’t anything entirely thrilling about this book. The romance spiked up, yes- BUT THAT WAS LITERALLY ALL IT WAS.
And then BAM a cliffhanger at the end.
Typical.
*dramatic eye roll*
Of course I wanna read the next book and find out what happens but
WHERE IS THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Kit is whiny and self-centered in this book. Makes me cringe. I like a female heroin who is a little more... humble? Less dramatic? Understands her worth but it’s so vain?
That’s just the vibe I was picking up.
Not impressed.
Just didn’t connect much with this book. I was hoping for a little more oomph I guess.
Quick read, no grammatical errors... so yay for decent editing.
This book in one sentence: In this paranormal soap opera, Kit's saga continues with more magic, more sex and more drama; will she make it one whole book without getting kidnapped?
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Steaminess: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Would I recommend: At this point, I'm hooked on the series and will keep reading regardless, but some parts are pretty ridiculous. For example, even though she has heightened speed, strength and reflexes, she's somehow a complete ditzy klutz on ice skates? Why do I feel like Kit's character is getting LESS developed as the series progresses?
Tropes: chosen one. all the boys want her. mommy issues.
Content warnings: almost all the characters are overcoming some kind of trauma.
This series has lost some of its momentum and it's gotten to the point where the repetition of kidnappings has become a tad exasperating.
- Kit has begun to irritate me.
- Wes is coming across as a creeper rather than cute and shy, which is a shame.
- I friggin' love the love/hate dynamic between Austin and Kit.
- I'm over the Caleb keeping secrets drama.
- I had hoped that Vali's first sex scene would be a more grand affair. - It was meh.
- Can Simon just fuck off and die already? - Like we really went there with the 'undead' bs. *Rolls eyes*
Honestly just read the first six pages in the last 10 pages and that’s all you need from this book the middle is literally garbage you just need the beginning to know what’s happening and the ending to finally get the resolution that you need but skip the whole boring middle part nothing happens
Kit and her guardians are on the run from a bunch of people that want to kill her or use her for her powers (including the Omega Group). While hiding out, Kit must learn to master the magic she gained from bonding with Austin before she takes on more bonds. Cole and Vali work on their dragon magic and try to repair their brotherly relationship. Wesley is still trying to figure out exactly what he is, and River is avoiding getting changed in the first place. Caleb is struggling not only with controlling his magic but also the non-disclosure agreement that his new tutor has imposed on him.
I love this series. This particular book in the series seemed to be more of a "move things along" type of segment. Everyone's storyline's progressed a little, but there weren't really any big reveals or giant steps forward in solving Kit's problems. Luckily, there is enough going on with everyone's relationships that it wasn't boring, and I must admit that I was glad that Kit didn't get kidnapped a bunch of times again.
Kit Davenport and her 6 dianoch are on the run. Since finding out that she is a ban dia capable of creating other supernaturals she has been hunted. Betrayed by her "father" she and the team are trying to stay one step ahead of the Omega Group. Kit is suffering from nightmares after her last and final encounter with Mr. Gray. Caleb is still secretly working with Kit's estranged mother, Bridget trying to gain control over his blood magic, and Kit herself must learn control over ink magic after bonding with Austin before she can bond any more of her boyfriends. To sum up: 1. Stay alive. 2. Learn ink magic. 3. Bond her other 5 boyfriends. 4. Save the world. *Important note: Keep an excessive amount of coffee in the house at all times!
I love these books. Honestly, I can't get enough of Kit and her guys. Action and adventure, danger, and suspense, romance and sex, sarcasm and humor! I love Kit. She's everything I could ask for in a lead female. She's gorgeous, intelligent, brave, snarky, funny, completely kick-ass. The guys, River, Wesley, Caleb and Austin, Cole and Vali make up the perfect harem (dianoch, in this case). I love the RH genre. I like the diverse characters that make up the harems. In so many books, the female adapts in small ways when she is with the guys. I believe that this harem better fits their female than any other I've read. Each guy fits one aspect of Kit's personality. They compliment her in the most ideal ways, each giving her something she needs. She never needs to compromise or change. Each guy believes she is perfect for them.
Tate James has created an exceptional series. At any time it can go from deadly chases to sexy adventures in the same breath. The characters are so believable and relatable. One minute they are fighting, the next laughing, and then possibly panting. This book is such a fun read. The danger kept me on edge, I worried about secrets being exposed and the subsequent reactions, I was irritated and suspicious over the adult's actions. It's incredibly sexy but also has parts that I died laughing over. The ending was unexpected and I'm already worked up about the wait for The Crow's Murder! I've already pre-ordered it. I love, love love this book and this series.
This continues to be a solid series! She moves forward with more of her dianoch which is SO HOT, there is a major danger that nearly gets them "killed" (I mean, what can kill and immortal). Very steamy (which I think is great) but might not be everyone's cup of tea (there is voyeurism, multiple partner sex, etc)
