Cat Lady: A Short Story is an intriguing and unique short story in desperate need of a copy edit. The writing was mediocre, but with some attention to style, grammar and punctuation, this could be a truly stirring short.
Cat Lady is a short story, and the first I have read from this author. Reviewing short stories is difficult without giving too much away, but this is an intriguing, dark tale which had me hooked all the way through. The author successfully mixes elements of humour with a macabre plot, and I will definitely be checking out more of their stories.
I wasn't sure quite what to expect, having never read anything by the author before. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sounds goulish, I know, but then I love the macabre and thrillers. This book packs a wallop for the size of it. The author's writing is easy-reading and the characters, dialogue and storyline are well-developed. It's definitely a page-turner with a twist at the end. If you have an hour of 'me' time and want to disappear into a great little story, you may want to read this book. I shall certainly be checking out the author's other works after this cat's tale.
