Awful organization. Lacks depth. Good exemplars, but not comprehensively supported. Often introduces theories inconsistently, with bias, and sometimes with little to no consistent depth or utilitarian comprehensiveness.

Theoretical Basis for Nursing was read for my master's level nursing theory course. It was dry, to say the least. However, everything in this book was relevant and did a fantastic job connecting the dots from my everyday nursing practice to the theories behind those practices. The only thing I didn't like in this book was a section about group projects needing to make up a more significant portion of nursing education programs. In a perfect world, these group projects may be beneficial, but we all know they are just a stress fest that everyone wants to get done with. Overall, this textbook did a great job of relaying the information needed to bring light to the importance of nursing theories and how they separate nursing from a task-driven, physician-led practice to a profession.
