Samyaza is done with hiding. She is done with planning. She is done with waiting.
It's the final showdown. But Elisabeta is a strategist of the highest caliber. Everyone keeps telling Delaney McPhearson that she is up for the task. But she cannot forget the brutality Elisabeta has already inflicted. And the first salvo is more brutal than Laney could ever have imagined.
The stakes have never been higher as Elisabeta expands her threats across the globe.
Laney can’t help but ask herself if she is up for the task . . . and what happens to the world if she isn't?

I’m not generally a fan of sci-fi (although I’m not sure you could pigeon-hole this book into a single category - there’s also action, mystery and romance), but I have read all the books in this series and thoroughly enjoyed them all. Sometimes the plot can be a bit far-reaching- I will admit the most impactful sci-fi to me are the stories that seem like they are on the verge of coming true - but that IS the beauty of science fiction, so I’m not complaining. R.D. Brady does a beautiful job of drawing you in and making you feel like a part of the Chandler family.
***Spoiler***There was some character loss in this book, which on the whole I actually enjoy as a literary technique (I know, I’m a monster!) as it engages the reader on a very emotional level and makes you both angry and sad. The loss also stays with you for quite some time beyond the turning of the last page and I find that those are the books I remember the most (when you read hundreds of books a year, it can be hard to remember all the plots, am I right?).
I can’t wait for more in this series as I feel like there were a few new plot lines to be explored.

Despite opposition from the very government she fights to save, Delaney and her group persevere to save millions of lives
Why the government spends more time opposing the only person can save the world from a horrible fate totally amazes me. Those in power cannot stand someone with special powers who they cannot keep under their thumb. Despite losing people who are very dear to her, Delaney manages to keep going knowing the the only way to save most humans on this earth is to find a way around the opposition and have a plan to defeat the evil Samyaza who does not care in the least about any human life.
It has just taken me three weeks to read all twelve books in the Belial series. I loved every one of them. As soon as I finished one I would have to start another. I hope Laney gets to live decent life after but somehow, I don't think she will. It would be nice if she could. Excellent series of books. I loved every minute of them.
I chose the 5 stars because the books deserve that rating. If I could double it I would. I would recommend this series to anyone who loves a good story, is interested in history and has a longing for adventure.
Although much sadness boy did the author come back with a bang. I was on the edge the entire book. Can't wait for the next, but I am really torn as to the future with the U.S. govt taking the lead. Making more Javan leopards, tsk, tsk. I hope that some of our hero's get an HEA, Jake and Mary Jane still not sure on this one, Henry and Jen, Patrick makes me so sad, Cain. Gregory and Noriko ? So many twists and so many plots, but I loved every second of it.
I’ve enjoyed this series thoroughly since picking it up in 2014. This is another excellent book in the series and includes several surprising twists. A lot of the major plot points could be foreseen, but they were still so well done that this didn’t detract from the overall appeal of the book. I also like that the ending was more realistic than most books tend to go for.

This is the third series I have ever re-read and it is because it is so good. Every book delivers an amazing and strong female lead (Love Laney) with a plot that is so compelling you will blink and have spent hours curled up with the book. I love the bonus of so many fun historical facts (confirmed by the fact or fiction section at the end of each book).
Thoroughly enjoyed this story! Really appreciate the touchpoints to historical facts and use of current background settings. Sad but unfortunately true assessment of political reaction to modern day superheroes. Cant wait for the next adventure!
Once again Ms Brady creates a tale that makes you want to continue reading into the small hours. One criticism is that the proof readers failed spectacularly - there are a lot of errors which, while minor, are very annoying.
This whole series is the best I have read in a long while. I love the fact or fiction sections at the end. History, archeology, fantasy, action and great characters! Love it can't wait to read more!
By far one of the best so far. I absolutely love the authors writing and perspective, and the storyline just gets better each book. I am reading the last one in this series and I know it is going to be a winner. I feel like I am right there with Laney and Drake and the others.
Good adventure with enjoyable references to history.

By now I am emotionally invested in the characters and all the pain that Laney and her team were feeling broke my heart. The ending was satisfying (Elisabetta's demise), however it doesn't end yet. Looking forward to continuing this adventure!
I'm not too excited about the direction the storyline is taking. Bringing in the government diminishes what this series is all about. I think a break from this series is in order.
Okay, I'll say this was great reading. Can't wait for net one. 13th could go in different directions. I'm not good saying things everyone should read this series.
I really enjoy the way RD Brady has been telling this series. And again I wasn't disappointed. But to me this one felt rushed, I think it could have easily been a two or even three book story.
Loved the writing in the whole series. The editing seems to more atrocious as the series progresses. For God's Sake people at least read through the book before publishing.
