#BookReview – “Christmas Kisses: A Zodiac Shifters” box set
“Under the Mistletoe” by Amy Lee Burgess
Emily and Orlando used to be best friends as children, but since they come from rival dragon clans, they’ve come to hate one another. At the annual Christmas party with all the dragon clans on Zodiac Mountain in attendance, Emily and Orlando find themselves trapped together in a witch’s magic box and finally talk about their problems. The H/h argued and insulted each other a lot. I haven’t read any other stories in this series, but I got a fairly good idea of what the world is like, and I find it intriguing. I liked and appreciated the overall message of the story—do not hate or show prejudice to someone—but the arguing was a bit much. 3 Stars
“Through the Blizzard” by Dominique Eastwick
Framed for a crime he didn’t commit, Oakley was banished from his snow leopard leap, and his beloved mate, Nova, shunned him. Five years later, he’s angry and shocked to find Nova on his doorstep. Though he wanted to turn her away, he couldn’t do so with a blizzard on its way. As they talk and get to know one another again, they both soon realized their love never died. I liked both characters, especially gruff Oakley. Though Nova was young and immature at the time she had shunned him, she owned up to her mistakes and turned out to be respectable. The plot is good, but punctuation typos were distracting. As a new reader to the series, I was a little lost with the world building and how all the shifter clans worked within Zodiac signs, but I followed along well enough to enjoy the story. 3 Stars
“What a Scottish Shifter Wants” by Jennifer Hilt
Angus is a wolf shifter, banished from his pack because he refused to pick a mate. Throughout his travels, he meets Bree, an Amazon warrior, and has hard, wonderful, no-strings-attached sex with her. After he leaves her, he meets a witch and loses years of his life to a curse. Angus is a stubborn, foolhardy man, and Bree is levelheaded and patient. I liked both characters, but I connected better with Angus since the story is told only in his POV. 3 Stars
“Blizzard Bound” by Rosalie Redd
In this Warriors of Lemuria series short story, the winter solstice is only a day away, and panther shifter Aramand needs to find the perfect gift for his new mate. Danae only wants Aramand to remain safe, but their life isn’t an easy one. As part of the Panthera race, they and their Stiyaha allies are at war with the Gossum, and each night could be their last. Aramand and Danae’s love story begins in the Marked by Love novella, but I haven’t read their main story and very little of it was mentioned in this one. As such, I didn’t feel like I got to know the characters well. I still like this story, however, and I’ve read other books in this series, which I’ve enjoyed and can definitely recommend. 3.5 Stars
“All I Want for Christmas” by Bethany Shaw
Cassidy is struggling to raise her two young nieces and is often late to work. Luckily for her, her gorgeous boss is very lenient and understanding. Santiago is a phoenix shape-shifter working undercover as a human private investigator while in search of maniacal lycanthrope plaguing the city. After Cassidy is targeted, Santiago will do everything he can to protect the woman he’s fallen for. Cassidy and Santiago fit well together. There are lots of side characters from previous books in this series, which I haven’t read, and I’d liked to know more about them. This is my second favorite story in the set, but the typos were surprising. If not for that, I could’ve rated this story higher. 3.5 Stars
“A Very Foxy Christmas” by Melissa Snark
Silver is a coyote shifter getting ready to head to Las Vegas with his rock band for a performance when he overhears his fox shifter wife Hannah and their family/friends talking about him. Now he’s on edge since he thinks Hannah doesn’t believe he would be a good father. Hannah owns a security company and is doing a job in which she needs her husband’s help. They’re both highly skilled thieves, so they plan to rob her client as part of the job. Only things don’t go according to plan, and their baby argument could cost them their lives. Silver and Hannah are well-rounded, three dimensional characters. I would love to read their main book, Out Foxed, but this short story gave enough info for me to understood and connect with the H/h. I enjoyed the world building and all the different sorts of shifters, but the climax could’ve used more detail. (I just had a hard time picturing the air duct systems and the H/h being stuck between the fan blades.) Anyway, this story is the longest one in the anthology. It’s also my favorite. 4 Stars
This book is a combination of six short stories by six different authors. Amy Lee Burgess, Dominique Eastwick, Jennifer Hilt, Rosalie Redd, Bethany Shaw, and Melissa Shark. These are amazing authors and did such a fantastic job of creating short stories that were compelling, and hard to put down. Each story is so visual, and each character personality is brought out in such a way that you don't feel any of the story lines lacking in the character, thoughts or actions. Book 1: Under the Mistletoe: A story of dragon shifters that are brought together for a Christmas party, something that is uncommon because each of the dragon clans keeps distance from one another. But this year there has been a magical spell placed onto the mistletoe hanging in each of the entrances of the great hall. Any two Dragons that enter in the archway at the same time are held there for 60 minutes, to hopefully come to some agreements and work out their difference. That is until two very special dragon that as youths were in love but when they came of age things had suddenly changed one not understanding why and was fill with hurt, and anger. While the other had to suffer the consequences of their parents wrath. The question is were they able to overcome what had happened, and were they able to reclaim the love they were denied.
Book 2: He was cast out for a crime he did not commit, his mate turned her back on him so he thought. Some how he survived and years later during a night that a blizzard is starting he scenes his mate coming to him though he has mix feelings about her coming. She had turned her back on him so he thought and so did his family. That is until the real truth came out a couple of years later and they told her where to find him. The question is now will he listen to her or will he throw her out during a blizzard not hearing her side of what happened; can there be a second chance for them and can the work together
Book: 3 What a Scottish Shifter Wants: He was banned form his clan for 1 year but that doesn't seem to bother him to much, he comes upon an Amazon woman and she feeds him and gives him shelter for along with the warmth that only she can give to him. But he leaves getting cold feet, but she gives him a warning and an amulet to wear for protection. Unfortunately he looses the amulet, angers a witch, who cast a spell on him to lose his memory. Will he ever make it back to the woman that is waiting for him, and will he remember what he needed so much in his life.
Book 4: Blizzard Bound: Two newlyweds are trying to get ready for the winter soloist to get the blessing for their mating. He needs to get her a gift and heads out right before the storm hits. There are creatures in the night that roam the woods from a different planet than theirs their sole purpose is to destroy the couple and for their kind to take over earths water supply. He takes longer that expected getting back to her from town only to catch the scent of the creatures as they are making their way to his home and to his mate. Will he make it to her in time before the hurt and possibly kill her? Will they be able to get the blessing and exchange the gifts for one another that is so important to each
Book 5: All I Want for Christmas: Cassidy is raising her two nieces all by herself. Before she was working full time during the day and going to school at night to get her degree. Her parents were killed when she was younger and there was just her and her sister that is until her sister and husband were killed in an auto accident and she is raising the girls. She now work for a private investigator who she has a huge crush on. He is the most handsome man she has ever seen but there are things that she doesn't know. Santiago's is not just a PI he is trying to find a group of lycanthrope that are hunting humans But Cassidy doesn't know any of this nor does she know that he is a phoenix shifter that is until she is attacked by lycanthropes when Santiago and some of his associates leave to track them down but the lycanthropes find her and are planning to use her for their own gain. The questions will be will he get to her in time before they can hurt her and what about he nieces how is she going to protect them? All of the answers in this short story. So full of action, drama, and love.
Book 6: A Very Foxy Christmas: Silver is a coyote shifter, a song writer, musician, and ex-thief. Hannah is his wife, mate and a fox shifter. She is a genius with electronics and she was once too a thief until she was caught by her now brother-in-law before he married her sister. Now she creates security systems and then tries to find leaks in them for her clients by trying to break into their places and find any weaknesses. Silver is dedicated to his music and song writing, but he hear a conversation between the women that live in the house together with them as to why she and Silver had not yet had started a family after beginning together for a year. Silver assumes the worst but doesn't say anything The band and Hannah have a gig and an operation to perform at a casino in Vegas, before they go she gives Silver a very expensive guitar and he is furious because he felt he had been left in the dark about how much money they had. He also tells her that he is going to make some changes that she doesn't agree with so that they will have a family. The get to Vegas and Silver and Hannah begin the operation to break into the clients safe. But things go terribly wrong, Hannah gets distracted from their argument and is caught in a situation that she is on the verge of being killed and on top of that she is having a terrible anxiety attack and Silver can barley save her if he can. The questions is will they finally tell each other what is really upsetting them about having children that is if the have a chance to.
All of the stories are outstanding and if there were more stars I would give them. Each story does have a happy ending it is just the twist and turns that you have to take to get there,
OMG this collection of short stories from authors of the Zodiac Sifters series is awesome. Each and everyone of them is a short related to your favorite Zodiac Shifter stories that you have read, so you will definitely recognise the characters....That is what makes it so much fun......
So spend the holidays with your favorite Zodiac Shifters, sweat, laugh and Merry XMas to all!
Christmas Kisses contains six sweet and sexy stories that revolve around Zodiac Shifters. Though this book refers to previously introduced characters it can be read standalone. Under the Mistletoe by Amy Lee Burgess – I loved the message. This story asks – why can’t we all get along? Through the Blizzard by Dominique Eastwick – Sweet second chance leopard shifter tale. Shifters are bound by fated mates can Oakley forgive his mate for not believing in him? What a Scottish Shifter Wants by Jennifer Hilt – Amazon meets shifter who is a total manwhore. But when she is ok with having his baby without his participation as daddy he needs to rethink his philosophy. Too bad a witch takes his memory. Blizzard Bound by Rosalie Redd – Love may conquer all but even newlyweds worry about getting it right. All I want for Christmas by Bethany Shaw – Cassidy has a crush on her boss but he isn’t all he appears to be. A Very Foxy Christmas by Melissa Snark – A sexy sweet story that reminds us the key to love is communication.
Sadly, I wasn't a big fan of the majority of the shorts within this anthology. I'm guessing those who follow the authors' Zodiac Shifters series could possibly enjoy it more. I felt lost with the whole zodiac-powered side of the story because I haven't read anything else in the series. I didn't like many of the stories, aside from the Zodiac angle. A couple were ok, but not good enough for me to even consider reading any of other Zodiac Shifters Anthologies I have gotten for free off of Amazon over the years. (Overall rating: 2.5)
Under the Mistletoe By Amy Lee Burgess (3 stars; odd that all dragon clans fight and dislike one another, but nice way to get them talking) Every year the dragons of Zodiac Mountain throw a grand Christmas party where they all come together to celebrate. Only they don’t. They stay in their own clan corners and ignore everyone else. A witch named Marley has a different idea. She enchants the mistletoe sprigs throughout the party chamber. Any two dragons who step beneath the mistletoe are trapped for sixty minutes within a magical force field that shields them from the rest of the world. Emily and Orlando’s forbidden love has been crushed long ago. When they find themselves under the mistletoe, they must decide if sixty minutes are enough to erase the hurt and misunderstanding of a decade.
Through the Blizzard by Dominique Eastwick (2 stars; there is a major need of editing, very distracting) Through the Blizzard Five years ago Oakley was banished from the snow leopard leap. When even his mate turned her back on him he left without a backward glance. Now living in the mountains of Wyoming he provides help to those who need it not only those of his kind the Sagittarius shifters but to other zodiac signs as well. Nova’s life had been blessed and easy. She lived in the sanctuary city of her people, her mate came to her early and she was adored. Or so she thought. When her mate is framed she is too young and naïve. Too late she realizes her folly, now with a new prime at the head of the family she is tasked with bring Oakley back. But will he have any place in his life for those who betrayed him? A storm is brewing can she get through to him or is it too late?
What a Scottish Shifter Wants by Jennifer Hilt (2 stars; why did he remove the amulet in the first place?) When Angus McGowan, a commitment phobic Scottish wolf shifter indulges in a backwoods cabin fling with an Amazon warrior, Angus can’t believe his luck in finding a bedmate with no strings attached. As a biologist, Bree welcomes Angus into her bed but she’s puzzled that he’s angry over her plans to raise any child that may result from their time together on her own. She’s in Icy Cap, Alaska to experience all that life has to offer. When they part, she gives Angus an amulet to protect him in his travels. Enter a jealous witch and a curse. When Angus loses his amulet and his memory, will he ever find a way back to Bree?
Blizzard Bound by Rosalie Redd (1 star; couldn't get over the abandonment storyline) Snowed in for the winter solstice… Danae longs to celebrate the winter solstice with Aramond according to tradition, but his job takes him into the forest even during a snowstorm. As the hours tick by with no sign from her mate, Danae fears he’ll never return, abandoning her once again. Aramond needs to obtain a gift for Danae to celebrate the winter solstice. Not even a snowstorm can keep him from his goal, but he fears leaving her alone and vulnerable. When faced with his worst fear he must battle his internal demons, as well as his enemy, to save the only female who’s ever owned his heart.
All I Want For Christmas By Bethany Shaw (3 stars; this one was okay, but weird having a phoenix shifter who's job it is hunting lycanthrope) Working for Santiago Ferdinand was a dream come true for Cassidy Clark. He’s hot, nice, and doesn’t care if she’s late to work all the time. Everything was great until some disgruntled clients showed up and she discovered the perfect man she’d been working for wasn’t so perfect; he had some secrets--secrets that could get her killed. Santiago’s mission was to eradicate the lycanthrope hunting humans. Posing as a PI in Chicago, he assisted in hunting down a large cell in the area. When his assistant was brutally attacked by the cell, all bets were off. No one would harm the woman he was falling for. He just hoped when she found out he was an immortal phoenix shifter she would still look at him the same way.
A Very Foxy Christmas by Melissa Snark (3 stars; this one was okay) Two thieves... one prize... a casino heist gone wrong and a spanking good time. A Very Foxy Christmas is a short story sequel to the Zodiac Shifters novel Out Foxed by Melissa Snark. It contains off-beat humor, light dominance-submission elements, and a brisk paddling that will put some color in the heroine's cheeks.
This is a collection of short stories where romance in the holiday season is the name of the game, but nothing is ever smooth sailing in the shifter communities and these stories show you all about how christmas time and love can conquer all, with something for everyone within.
Under The Mistletoe by Amy Lee Burgess is alll about the christmas party that the dragon shifters of Zodiac Mountain throw each year, it is always the same, nobody talks to anyone if they are not in the same clan, they separate themselves off and just ignore everyone else, but this year will be different because a witch named Marley has a plan to get them talking, all it needs is some mistletoe, but will it work, or will everyone come to blows at her audacity, especially her friend Emily and her forbidden love Orlando?
Through The Blizzard by Dominique Eastwick is centered around Oakley, a snow leopard shifter who was exiled from his pack, even by his mate, but he has built up his life how he wants it, despite all of that, by helping those from all the Zodiac packs in their time of need, up in the mountains of Wyoming. Meanwhile, his mate Nova has spent her life in aa naive haze, but when her mate is framed for a crime, she believes in his guilt, that is until she finds out what really happened when a new Prime of the pack asks her to go bring him home, but will she be able to brave the storm which is brewing in the mountains and bring her mate home, or will he turn his back on her, like she did to him?
What A Scottish Shifter Wants by Jennifer Hilt is set in Icy Cap, Alaska where Angus McGowan, a commitment phobic wolf shifter is travelling, but when he meets Bree, an Amazonian biologist, they indulge in a no strings attached fling, however, he isn't happy about her not using contraception and being willing to raise a child if one is produced, so when he leaves, she gives him a protection amulet. As he continues his travels, he encounters a witch who lets her jealously loose, cursing Angus and causing him to lose his memory and amulet, but will be ever find Bree again, or will he be lost to the curse forever?
All I Want For Christmas by Bethany Shaw is all about Santiago Ferdinand, a phoenix shifter PI and his employee Cassidy Clark, he hired her for her skills, but kept her on because of his attraction, even forgiving her when she is a little late for work, but she is also attracted to him, but when they let their feelings air, Cassidy realises that she might be a little in over her head when a group of Lycanthropes he has been investigating attack her, he knows she need to know the truth, but can she handle it, or will she run from him?
A Very Foxy Christmas by Melissa Snark is about two theives and a heist which goes wrong, but it also goes a little right with plenty of humour and plenty of steamy action, this is a saucy holiday romance.
Love the cover! Love Christmas Romance! I love that these authors put a boxset together! That gets 5 stars right away!
*So far, I’ve only read a couple stories. I will update as I go*
Review for Amy Lee Burgess' Under the Mistletoe - 4 Stars
Loved the idea for this story! All the dragon clans don't get along, but are forced to attend a Christmas party together in hopes of getting them to mesh better together, but so far, it hasn't worked. So, a witch creates a spell that forces 2 people that are under a mistletoe at the same time to communicate with each other for an hour in a privacy bubble no one can see in or hear what is going on in there. Emily and Orlando are from feuding dragon clans, but when they were teens they felt love for each other, but let their families get in the way. Now, they are adults and despise each other. When these two get trapped in one of the bubbles, they aren't very nice to each other, but maybe things aren't quite what they seem. I found this story really cute, and would've loved more! This is a very short story, so there isn't much character development, so that sucks, but I enjoyed everything that was there. Orlando was being a total butt! I wanted Emily to give him a little more sass. Cute and fun short story!
Review for Melissa Snark’s A Very Foxy Christmas - 4 Stars
Loved seeing Silver and Hannah from the book Outfoxed! It’s great to see how they are! This is a sweet and fun story with a little bit of mischief and some kinky, spicy romance. Silver overhears Hannah say something that doesn’t sit right with him, so Hannah and him need to get on the same page. Hannah is now legally a thief by helping companies check out there security systems, so Silver and her head to Vegas for Christmas to do a job. I enjoyed the connection between Silver and Hannah. These two have some heat between them! I wish the story had more of an ending though, it felt unresolved. Hopefully there will be more with Silver and Hannah! I want to see them more on the same page. Entertaining and fun! Cute story and great for this time of year!
This boxset is full of stories of a wide range of shifters and their mates, together at Christmas time. With everything from heists to magic, hunters and more, it's a great collection, and all stories involved romance in its many forms. An excellent read, highly recommended this Christmas for all lovers of supernatural/paranormal romances. NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions Individual : Under the Mistletoe by Amy Lee Burgess (5*) 30/11 A story of love lost and refound thanks to a Christmas gift. Beautiful. Through the Blizzard by Dominique Eastwick (4*) 30/11 An interesting story and an interesting outcome! Very festive. What a Scottish Shifter Wants by Jennifer Hilt (5*) 30/11 Both cute and weird. A Christmas miracle ending. Blizzard Bound by Rosalie Redd (4*) 30/11 Lovely story, though not having read any of the author's previous work, I didn't entirely understand the difference between the factions mentioned. Still highly enjoyable though! All I Want For Christmas by Bethany Shaw (5*) 1/12 This was an interesting read, with drama, intrigue and a twist of romance. Lovely. A Very Foxy Christmas by Melissa Snark (4*) 1/12 This final story of the boxset was very adult in content, with bdsm content, as well as a heist, suspense and romance. A nice story to end the boxset.
This is not one of my favourite series as I find the world building either complex or unbelievable. This was a free read but can’t say it was riveting. AMY LEE BURGESS - UNDER THE MISTLETOE Have read before. Okay but the antagonism that runs rampant between the clans was stupid. DOMINIQUE EASTWICK - THROUGH THE BLIZZARD What a waste of my time this was. Talk about rollover and show your belly. JENNIFER HILT - WHAT A SCOTTISH SHIFTER WANTS Didn’t do anything for me. Bit stupid timeline wise 6 years was too long. Why did he take his amulet off? ROSALIE REDD - BLIZZARD BOUND Confusing world as I have not read it. Lovely story with likeable characters though. BETHANY SHAW - ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS Different take in shifters. Good story with a fair bit of world explanation which was helpful. Didn’t leave me with any questions which is nice. Pity about the lycanthrope being the baddies. MELISSA SNARK - A VERY FOXY CHRISTMAS Read the book about this couple but wasn’t enthused. This little addition was enjoyable.

REVIEW All but Rosalie Redd is a new to me author.
4 Stars: Under the Mistletoe by Amy Lee Burgess This is a Dragon story. The dragon clans keep to themselves no mixing of clans allowed. Until..A Christmas party and some Mistletoe changes that. This was a cute short story.
4 Stars: Through The Blizzard - Dominique Eastwick This is a cute Leopard shifter story. We get Oakley and Nova.
5 Stars: What a Scottish Shifter Wants by Jennifer Hilt This one I really enjoyed it gives us a wolf shifter who meets a warrior woman who wants a child but not the man? Or does she? What happens when you lose your memory? Angus and Bree give us a really cute story.

5 Stars: All I Want For Christmas by Bethany Shaw Cassidy Clark is raising her neices after a family tragedy and she has the hots for boss Santiago. Can Cassidy accept the truth though about her boss when all comes out? Cute, Suspensful story.
5 Stars: A Very Foxy Christmas by Melissa Stark Silver and Hannah give us one very hot story. Enjoy the banter between this couple, it's a funny and sexy story.
Under the mistletoe It's a little like Romeo and Juliet forbidden love all because they belong to different clans but the has a happy ending can love triumph it sure can when it's true love..
Through the blizzard Losing someone you love because of a lie is hard but losing someone because they don't believe your innocence is another but when love takes hold it can change everything and nothing can stand in its way.
What a Scottish shifter wants I wasn't to thrilled with this one sorry
Blizzard Bound I got the feeling that I had missed something with this one and it was only at the end that you got the option to go and read the story before this one but you can read it as a stand alone and I enjoyed it there isn't much that you can't guess and it gives you and idea of what happened anyway
All I want for Christmas A noble sacrifices an act that sees tees shifters become guardians but falling for a mortal is one thing he can't stop himself from doing and when her life is put in danger there is nothing that he will not do to protect her and her nieces. Great book for this compilation
A very foxy christmas This one is one of those naughty ones has a little Dom section but still a good romance to sit and read
This book bundle is a fantastic read for the holidays because each book has a HEA Christmas theme to it in 1 form or another and the characters fit into the Zodiac Shifters book series by various authors.

Love this anthology and the Zodiac Shifters series as a whole. Reading how these mated pairs, some of whom we’ve already met in other stories, celebrate their unique brand of holiday love is just a joy! But you don’t need to have followed the series in order to enjoy these stories. You just need to love Shifters, Christmas and romance. And if you don’t, believe me, after you read Christmas Kisses, you will. Highly recommended.

From Aries to Virgo … discover all-new tales of paranormal romance and urban fantasy. Our world features New York Times, USA Today, and other bestselling authors.
Heather's Notes I enjoyed all the stories. I am going to have look up the Zodiac Shifters series and check it out.
UNDER THE MISTLETOE ... 5* Amy Lee Burgess this short story was awesome. i liked how she was able to make two different people finally see what they both want. showed how there differences aren't that different.
THROUGH THE BLIZZARD ... 4* Dominique Eastwick this book was okay. slow at times. we see how some mistakes can keep you apart. but if you forgive life can be grand.
Some of the stories had a back story to them that probably would have made these shorts more interesting (I hope). The Zeiss concept was lost on me. I think one story spelled it out, over halfway through the book. But I didn't notice much reference to it in many of the stories. I prefer a more passionate, spicier, raunchier, love story.
This is unfortunately a mediocre collection. I only really enjoyed the first story. The message about confronting generations of prejudice and seeking tolerance and change was a powerful one and it's well done. I liked how the author brought it all together through Christmas cheer and a dash of mistletoe magic.
The other stories were disappointing and simply didn’t stand out.
If an easy read full of shifters who find themselves faced with numerous problems with their potential mates is what you 6 Christians Kisses is an anthology you will find hard to put down . Finding the paranormal world of mates and never-ending enticing situations that many male shifters find themselves in is definitely entertaining, especially with the adventures they find themselves dealing with as they try to show their mates they are the men for them. Light reading with enough to keep you coming back for more.
This was a fun collection of shifters with surprises throughout. Mistletoe that has a little extra and a great way to get a taste of different authors. These stories complimented their stories with in the Zodiac Shifters series. Loved it!
The entire collection is great. Very different stories, each unique, we have Amazon's, Phoenix and of course wolf & bear and fox & coyote. There is a sweet second chance story & a scary heist, we even touch on prejudices.
This book was amazing, it a short read book so you can read it anywhere, I loved the story and was so into it I could not put down, so it was good it a short read as I read it from start to finish.
If anyone asked me about a good book to read I would suggest them to read this one because it is very good it's sushi on the edge of your seat keeps you wondering what's going to happen next basically a little hard to resist to put down
