I'm in love with you. Like, the kind where I want you to make love to me. 10 years after losing his wife, Haru receives this confession from his step-son Ryo. The two may not be related by blood but have up to this point lived a peaceful life as a family. Haru doesn't want for their relationship to change. He just wants things to stay as they are so nothing is broken. But love doesn't always work like that. "Playing Family," the carefully written story of a step-dad battling his emotions for his step-son, and other sentimental love stories are contained in this bittersweet volume.
I enjoyed this first volume and I am looking forward to what comes next. It starts off a bit slow paced in this first volume so I am hoping it is building up to something really good and hopefully juicy. I like Ryo's character and am looking forwarding to seeing if he ends up the seme or the uke. I think it could go either way.
I don't want to yuck anybody's yum but the premise of this is deeply NOPE for me. The way that it's somehow presented as sweet and plausible that a step-father figure and a step-son figure could get romantically involved just to be able to maintain the status quo-- nopitty nope nope nope.
This was a good start. I got enough of the backstory to give me a good idea of the feelings between Ryu and Haru emotional baggage and issues that they have individually. I can't wait to read the next one.
This was absolutely cute. I adored it. I really can't wait to read more of this one. It would be cute to see who the seme and the uke is between Back and Ryo.
