A cheeky reread bc I was so thrown by the ending the first time that I had to read it again to pick out all the clues And fiction continues to be my main historical source
Still astounded that a novel about a northern irish uni CU even exists. I thoroughly support Leah and Catherine's mission to popularise this cultural phenomenon. Should it be mandatory for staff and relay???
I recently reread this book after many years sitting on my bookshelf, it really struck a chord with me because my father was born and bred on the Lower Falls and left in 1959, it was interesting to read what the Protestants possibly think of Catholics, even though it was fiction I know those feelings and attitudes were very real. Growing up as an Australian it is still hard for me to fathom such hatreds because I was brought up to accept everyone.
I read this when I was a teenager and loved it. I only have vague recollections of what it was about and have been searching for a copy since mine was destroyed in a flood. One day I will read it again.
