A fight for survival

Penny

Ambushed. Attacked. Thrown to the wolves. And that was all before I boarded the bus back to the Village. I didn’t have the energy or patience to explain how wrong they all are about me. I was ready to get the hell out of Italy and leave the Unity Games behind. Scrap the mission, forget why I was here in the first place.
Now that I’m tied to the one person in the world who probably hates me most, my life might depend on figuring out who I can trust. Unfortunately, trust doesn’t come easy…

Phoenix

Of all the lousy ways to top off a terrible weekend, this probably takes the freakin’ cake. For the first time, I put myself out there against all my better judgement. Figures I’d pick the psycho stalker who might be behind all the crazy stuff going on at The Games. To be fair, she did warn me she’d crush my heart.
But now I’m tied to her, our future and fate linked… for the time being. My scorched heart still wants to trust her, to believe, but each lie burns me just a little more. Hopefully I can get out of this before everything goes up in flames.

With each novel Ms. Huxley amps up the suspense. Bronze was a chance for readers to get their feet wet as they got the lay of the land. Silver was right on the edge of the intrigue and Gold thrusts readers into the abyss of danger. Dangerous Games is about more than solving a mystery. It's about not judging a person based on public opinion. It's about risking your heart and even your well being to protect the people you love and lastly, it's a chance to discover the traits that make a person more than just a gifted athlete, a pretty face or a dangerous foe. Gold is the climax to a ride that has been an emotionally challenging maze of puzzles but a delightful experience. A smartly written, change of pace for me.

OMG Adele you have put more twist and turns in this book, I love it!! You will need to read Bronze & Silver before reading this one for sure, as it picks up where Silver finished.
This one is about Penny & Phoenix story. Phoenix still wants Penny even after all the lies and spying on him and his friends. There's just something about her he needs.
As with the first two books, Gold still has some unanswered questions and will leave you wanting more.
Great writing Adele!

Straight off the bat, this book picks right up after the end of the second book and finished leaving me with a total book hangover and praying for the arrival of yet another book in the series.
I adored the way that each book in the series has just ramped up the attitude and piled on the angst for everyone involved.
There is an inexplainable need that lies between Phoenix and Penny and despite everything that has happened up until now, he just doesn’t seem to be able to shake off the feeling that she might just be the one for him…but is she? Because as far as they all know, it appears as if she has been a major player in some very shady dealings…but has she?
I liked the way the author gave Penny the chance to redress the field of opinion, but could she make them see that she was more than what they thought of her? When the truth comes out, is it enough to see why she is the way she is and why she did the things? or does she have yet more to prove? Because she is more than willing to put it all on the line to find out just who is behind what is going on and why.
Temper the intensity of Penny with the seductive nature of Phoenix and you have a couple that are the perfect pairing. Phoenix was everything that Penny needed, but that it appeared that she didn’t actually want, he was strong and methodical, he took his time to ensure that he made the right decisions and when necessary he had no qualms in defending her.
But could they make the flicker between them last or was that a step too far?
An interesting, if not all too complicated addition to the series.

Gold is the third book in the Dangerous Games Series, and while it centers around a different couple, you MUST READ Bronze & Silver FIRST as the suspense layers are ongoing throughout all of them. Gold picks up right where Silver left off, where the buses of Unity Games athletes are ambushed & attacked by a unknown threat. At present, Penny is looked at like she's the enemy, and done trying to defend herself, so she's ready to just get out of dodge and leave the Games when they are kidnapped by masked madmen. Now she finds herself tied to the absolute worst person, Phoenix, who hates her, who thinks she betrayed them all. Can Penny convince them that they need to band together in enough time to get out of there alive? Gold is the most exciting read of the series, as it started out with a bang, and never slowed down, so my heart raced cover to cover. The whole time, twists were around every corner, so my f-bomb dropping skills were strong, as I never knew who was the one who betrayed, even after more was revealed. Adele Huxley's talented writing style keeps getting better & better with every book, and I'm so deeply addicted that it's not even funny anymore, so when this series is over, I'm going to go through serious withdrawals. And while she's already on the list of author's trying to kill me dead, she still ended with another cliffy that had the colorful metaphors coming out of me long a song, so the next book cannot come out quickly enough! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Gold is the third in the suspenseful series, Dangerous Games, by Adele Huxley, and in my opinion, the BEST!

The book picks up right where the previous one left off, and what an ending that was. Penny and Phoenix are forced together. If you have read the other books, you will know that these two people are an unlikely match. They will have to work together to get themselves out of their current dangerous situation, and that will require trust. Penny most definitely doesn’t inspire trust in anyone. She is a woman with many secrets, and thankfully, we are finally going to discover some of them. Penny has truly been through a lot, and it is what makes her character as complicated as she is. Phoenix also has some secrets in his past. They begin at odds with one another, but that is covering up some major attraction between them. I enjoyed watching them fall in love and become people I liked even more by the end of the book!

I highly recommend this series. It’s very original, and Huxley perfectly combines romance with suspense. Just when you think you have something figured out, she throws in another shocking twist that keeps the pages flying. Looking forward to the next book in the series. It promises to be even more explosive! Please note: the series should be read in order!

This book picks up seamlessly where book two left off. There was no recap of what transpired in the first two books and I am so grateful for that. I loved the first two and was looking forward to diving into book three, however, I was a little disappointed.

Penny is a seriously strong heroine and so much is learned about her. Motives, thoughts and actions begin to make sense as information is revealed. I hated that she was painted the villain when in fact she’s quite the opposite. Penny is dangerously brave and willing to put her own life on the line to figure out who is behind the terror of the Unity Games. Phoenix… oh, sweet Phoenix! He is Penny’s perfect match. He is patient, logical and understanding for all that Penny has been through. I loved seeing how protective he is of her. When these two are forced to be together and they’re able to overcome their grievances with each other, a beautiful relationship forms.

I was looking forward to questions being answered and the pieces of the puzzle to fall into place, but that didn’t happen. Very little was revealed leaving me non-the wiser than when I started the series. This one felt rushed and certain things felt redundant. Overall it was a good read and I can’t wait to see what happens in the fourth book.

This is the third book in the Dangerous Games Series. This series must be read in order (Bronze, Silver, Gold) to make sense. The series revolves around the Unity Games and the athletes competing in it. It's a fast paced, action packed series that keeps you reading and guessing.
Gold picks up where Silver left off with the gang having been taken from their buses at gunpoint. It focuses on Penny, the reporter nobody trusts and everybody but Phoenix loathes, and Phoenix. Even though she's lied to him and spied on the group, he's still drawn to Penny. When she comes clean with him, he's not prepared for the truth.
As they face life or death situations, trust grows as do feelings. Along with Rebel, Claire, Hunter and the rest, they try to stay alive. But between armed guards and an avalanche making it back to the Village seems less and less likely. Not to mention figuring out what's really happening, who's behind it and why.
This book ends with unanswered questions and a desire for more but no cliffhanger. I received this ARC from the author. This is my voluntarily given honest review.

Gold is the third book in the Dangerous Games Series and it is the BEST one! This book had my attention from the first word to the last one written. It starts off exciting, it’s riveting and I stayed glued to the book to the end! This book is action packed and there are twists and turns throughout the story. I love it!!!

Gold is Penny & Phoenix’s story. Along with other characters from the previous books.

You do need to start at the first book in the series Bronze and then Silver and now Gold.

This book ends in a way that there is no cliffhanger or surprises but, you know it isn’t the end. I have felt that this story and series is original. I haven’t read anything like it. The story is centered around Unity Games which is kind of like the Winter Olympics except the winner a will be a paid athlete and wins a substantial amount of money. So, there is a lot to gain and of course a lot to lose.

I Love the story and I give Gold 5 GOLDEN Stars.

This is the third book in the series, it’s not a standalone, you must read the previous books before this one. Wow, this book starts off with a bang and it pretty much continues at that pace till the end. Although this story revolves around Penny and Phoenix, the rest of the gang appear too. We get some answers, but are still left with quite a few more that we hopefully get the answers to in the next book. This book is more action packed than the previous, there are a few twists and turns that you don’t see coming, the reader is kept on the edge of their seat right till the end. It doesn’t end on a cliff hanger as such but sets the reader up nicely for the next book, this was an enjoyable, fast paced read, can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Whoa, This story picks up where Book 2 left off. There are 2 busses of athletes trying to get off the mountain, but they have now jumped from the frying pan into the fire. Book 3 lays out more intrigue into what is going on with the Unity Games and who is involved. Gold is much more action packed and gives us light into Penny and Phoenix and their relationship. Identities are revealed, dangerous situations bring out both the best and worst in people. We are no closer to figuring out what is really going on other than athletes are coming up missing and people are being paid off and everyone is a suspect. Can "the gang" get the information gathered to the authorities that can help? I am anxious to read platinum to see the full story play out.

Gold is book 3 in the Dangerous Games series. You should read them in order. I liked The first book Bronze but in the second book, Silver, I started to lose interest in the series. I debated whether to continue with this series. I'm so glad that I picked this one up to read. So far to me Gold is the best one in the series. Gold is action packed and suspenseful. Still the mystery is there and we getting get many answers. Penny and Phoenix are the main characters in this one. I loved these two. Penny is a great character. I think Phoenix and Penny are the reason I loved this one so much.

No spoilers of any kind! I’m not that great at writing reviews since my thoughts tend to jump from one thing to another.
So all I’m going to say is that this is a great book. Adele Huxley definitely has a talent at weaving her stories and transporting you into the reality that she’s created. If you’ve never read any of her books then I suggest if I was you start with Bronze then go with Silver before you come to Gold that way you don’t get confused as who is who.
Basically I highly recommend you read Adele Huxley’s book!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of Gold ( Dangerous Games Book 3 ) by Adele Huxley for my honest opinion.

Another major cliffhanger but this one is my favourite so far. Unlike books one and two, the author held off on the sex until further in.

Gold picks up almost exactly where Silver ended so I didn't feel like I was missing anything, unlike the gaps between Bronze and Silver.

I loved that we finally see some action unfolding, though we're still so far in the dark as to who and what was going on. Though we get truths too, like who Penny really is.

There's some major plot twists including learning the name of two of the players and possibly the organization's name. Curious about the closing ceremonies that keep being mentioned.

Wow this story has more twists and turns than a slalom run!!. It's my favourite book so far in this series. As the plot thickens , we learn more about who's involved in the plan to sabotage the games but not yet why.
Penny and Phoenix seem to have a lust/hate relationship and her secrets and lies are coming out slowly. Will Phoenix feel the same when the truth comes out , whatever It maybe.
The suspense and intrigue is killing me.....I'm loving this series and I'm sure the final instalment will be explosive!!

OMG! Gold had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. This book is Penny's & Phoenix's story during the Unity Games. I couldn't put it down. I like how it ties the previous books into it & lets you know there will be another book to follow. This series is great! I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC.

If you haven't read Bronze or Silver yet, you need to before reading Gold. Gold will leave you on the edge of your seat begging for more. This story follows Penny and Phenox and shows you that even in your darkest hour, you can still find that one person you are meant to be with.

Huxley picks up the pace with Gold, the third book in the Dangerous Games series.

This series has been a wild ride of mysterious, puzzle solving until now when the twists and turns equal danger. The characters are so well written and continue to build throughout. The story is creative and engaging. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and this book in particular.

I highly recommend this book to fans of the romantic suspense genre.

This is the third book in the Dangerous Games series and with each book Adele builds up the suspense more.

Gold picks up where Silver left off, this one focuses on Penny, the mysterious reporter nobody trusts, and Phoenix.

After everything they have been through, being lied to and spied on, Phoenix can't help but be drawn to her.

Will they all escape and make it back to the village. This book leaves you with some unanswered questions and a need to find out more information and who is behind all the mysterious goings on.

Characters are amazing. Highly recommend the author and this series
