The last thing that wedding planner Ava Charleston ever dreamed that she would do was run for her life, but here she is, running away from a pair of murderers and back toward a home she hadn’t been to in years.
Stone Mayhew is the president of the Silver Devils, a one percenter motorcycle club, so when a brother receives a call from his cousin Ava begging for help, Stone is one of the first ones there to help his friend.
The moment Stone meets Ava he knows that she is it for him, just like his daddy had told him would happen one day. Stone knows that he will do whatever it takes in order to ensure that Ava remains safe, but he doesn’t realize it will have to happen the second that they arrive back at the Club.
Misunderstandings lead to more danger, and that sends them all to chasing down trouble through the bayous of Louisiana. But once he finds Ava, Stone vows never to let her go again.
April Zyon is an author of erotic and paranormal romance. The hotter the sizzle, the better. Lover of Alpha heroes, bad boys, and the women they love. Insta-love believer, and true romantic at heart.
This was going pretty decent for me at first. Yes, it was a little grittier than some of the MC stories I've read lately but the hero fell at first sight so I was all in. Then there had to be the obligatory clubwhore drama. That is where it took a drastic turn for me. I think I am just over the OW nonsense in books., I feel it's just thrown in for the sake of drama. I would rather have a story that makes them come together, not force her to rush away from him because she thought he had a girlfriend and she was just a little bit of fun. There could have been focus on him helping her with the situation that brought her to his club to begin with. THAT was just cleaned up in a very little part of the book.
- Short- 60 pages ($3.99) - No om drama -OW drama -30 year old virgin/ hero that sleeps around with clubwhores -club violence - nothing of a sexual nature but the general atmosphere about the women of the club is that are only good for one thing. - No epilogue- a rushed ending not far out but no look at their future
I love OTT intense insta-love j/p stories but this one was like a bad caricature. A 33 yr old virgin who sleeps with a guy she met on that evening?! Not like on a date but like a rescue and there were lots of other people (bikers) when they were first introduced to each other. And she’s supposed to be a really good girl. Then they had marathon sex all night and the next day she runs away coz there’s an ow who kissed the H when they arrived at the clubhouse. She ran away knowing a serial killer duo (a bride and groom pair who were her clients as a wedding planner) was after her (also a point of disbelief). The serial killer couple caught up to her and shot her before she was saved by her cousin and the H and bikers. All this happened in like less than 48 hrs.....
It was pretty good start into new series. I liked that Ava wasn't just a good girl. She has sass and she used that well against Stone. Stone was possessive alpha. It was insta between them. He claimed his woman instantly, without a fight against his feelings. There's a page or two having a bitch drama, which I like, so it was a bit let down it was short. But also I loved how Stone dealt with her. Never before, any H acted that way. At least until the end. So it was refreshing, and made me wish to give Stole high five. Lol. Another let down was too quick dealing with Avas threat. It was a second and done. I wished a bit torture for the 'threat'. Yup, I'm blood thirsty. Lol But in all, I for sure will check out next book.
I love April Zyon's books but am used to her writing in third person. This one kind of threw me for a loop but I still enjoyed the story. Ava is running from serial killers when she gets help from the Silver Devils MC club, which includes Stone. Instantly taken to her, they start on a journey that is filled with danger and hot sex! Will be waiting for the next book!!!
. . . Devo dizer que esse foi um achado que eu me apaixonei, como não amar esse livro, ele é curtinho, mas muito bem escrito. Stone e Ava, esse casal fode gostoso, na minha opinião. Amei ler, e fiquei querendo mais. 🥰 Happy reading, and until the next reading. . . 😘
Stone is April Zyon’s first Silver Devil’s MC book. It’s the story of Stone, who is the president of the MC, and Ava, a wedding planner on the run from a couple of bride and groom-to-be serial killers. (Eyebrows raised here.) I love April, I really do, but this book was a bit out there for me. First, our wedding planner arrives to find a rather gruesome scene with most of the wedding party slaughtered, and she’s next. So she calls her cousin, who is a member of the Silver Devils MC. They come to her rescue, including president Stone. Then comes the fastest relationship ever. When they get her to safety...she does something incredibly stupid. (This after Stone does something that left my jaw hanging) Of course, there’s the inevitable end, and we find out why the couple wanted her dead. That too had my jaw dropping. Honestly, I wasn’t quite sure what to make of this, it was more dark humor to me than anything else.
I've read bad books, but that one stands out in the extreme. The premise promises something involving crime, but it totally changes. A thirty-year-old girl who loses her virginity with a guy she barely knows, a man who looks more like an ogre, calling women whores and acting abusively. A joke.
Ava never thought being a wedding planner would be deadly. But her latest bride and groom are more than the appear...deadly even. So running to her cousin seemed like the best thing to do but did she jump from the pan to the fire?
I really enjoyed Stone the first in a new series by April Zyon. Stone doesn't expect Ava and isn't quite sure she is real...that is until he meets her. Stone has been hurt and doesn't trust women but when his friend, brother and Sargent at Arms says he needs help the club is there. Meeting Ava changes everything and protecting her becomes necessary. I love that Ms. Zyon gave me an alpha male who doesn't quite know what to expect from Ava. She is nothing like the women he knows but she means the world to him...and on the first meeting at that. I love that Ms. Zyon has given yet another insta love story that was humorous. I am not sure it was meant to be as funny as I found it but Ava tickled my fancy. And her attraction to Stone was equally as strong as his was to her. Seeing them navigate a world neither was used to was well articulated in this story. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing their chemistry morph into feelings and permanency. I hope that Ms. Zyon will return to this world in the future.
All said it was a pretty good story! I'm waiting for more in the next one, hopefully anyway! Stone was THE Alpha biker guy but meeting Ava totally threw him for a loop! He was hers from the first meeting! Ava intrigues me and if I could get more of her story and her family that would be amazing! Maybe Charlie will have a story and fill in some more? I look at this as the start of a new series with a ton of potential! Will be reading more for sure!
Please for the love of anything ..... make your stories longer you have so much potential. Your writing style was great no spelling errors I could spot . The plot was good and a nice back story how men always found the one . I would have paid more if you made it longer . Can't wait for the next one .
Overall I have to say I am a little disappointed by this book. In theory, good character outlines and storyline. But in reality the development of either of those just never happened. The whole read felt like watching a sparkler burn out. Sparkles at the start, fizzles at the end.
I really think this was a great start to a new series. I really like the OTT instalove combine with MC. The characters were great even if a bit unbelievable and it was really easy to read. However, I did find it a bit repetitive and sometimes overly descriptive.
I am rating this story at three stars because I really liked the plot, the characters, and the funny lines, but, I didn't like the way it was written. There was way too many repetative sentences. The same line would be used twice with in the same paragraph, or the persons title, like "cousin" was used so often at the beginning of the story that it was a distraction to the flow. I did not really enjoy the first person narrative, it read like it was a mundane story, I felt no connection to the characters (a bit dry). I also felt that the relationship was way too fast. They were together after "knowing" each other for a few hours? I do think;however, I felt that was because I could not connect so I was wondering why they were connecting.
I put this book down to do chores and really felt no urgent need or want to pick it back up immediately. The only reason I finished it in the same night was because I paid for it and felt some obligation to my wallet. Will read this author again? Yes, maybe, but I will do a bit more investigation into how the book is written and read a few more reviews first. Like I stated above, I enjoyed the story, just not how it was presented.
