The Dark Side #4

One Apocalypse

Rate this book
The life goals have stacked up since I started this journey as a sad, lonely little ghost. I’m not sure how things escalated so quickly from trying to be seen and heard, to bearing the weight of the world on my vain little shoulders.
As a result, my goals have gotten a little more serious…

Goal #14: Learn to take a hit without breaking or suffering some type of death.

Goal #15: Decide once and for all if I’m going to save or destroy the world. I’m not sure why people put this sort of responsibility on hell-spawn like me.

Goal #16: Practice my evil laugh, because all hell-spawn need a good evil laugh.

Goal #17: Find and kill all the unicorns. Mwahahahahaha.

Goal #18: Live to enjoy forever with the guys I sacrificed all my memories to save.

Goal #19: No matter what, they don’t get to die. Or I really will be THE Apocalypse.

We’re the most screwed up collection of antiheroes the world has ever seen, because the only thing that makes me want to save the world is knowing I could lose my boys forever if I don’t. It’s one HELL of a love story, you know?

The ending just didn't do it for me. I felt a little like all I've read in this series was lost and for nothing. :( I still really enjoyed this book and series though. And, this book was like the others in the series humorous, enjoyable, and reverse harem. But endings are very important especially since this was a 4-book series. 3.5 star rating.

Anyone agree with me on this about the unsatisfying ending?

It’s frustrating to reach the end of a four book series and discover a plot twist/trope that you don’t enjoy. Most people will probably be fine with it, but I feel let down. The hints were there, it was my own fault for trying to ignore them. I’m still glad I read this series though. I had fun right up until the end.

The plot is very simple. Paca and her guys spend the entire book preparing for the battle with Jahl. She continues to puzzle over the clues she left herself before she died the first time. They fight various people and monsters for practice, trying to level up and discover more about their powers. They’re still not on the same page most of the time which hurts their group as a whole. Paca feels left out, the guys feel powerless, and they all know they could die soon so they don’t really want to waste time working out their problems. Their focus is primarily on the upcoming fight.

I actually liked that the plot was very straight forward. Almost all of the conversations about balance and the past that I found so confusing/frustrating in the last book were left out of this one. Instead we got lots of fight scenes that actually had a purpose. Normally too many fight scenes bore me, but I liked discovering Paca’s new powers each time and seeing how her outfit changed.

The best part of this series for me has always been the dark humor and Paca as a character. Sometimes she’s exhausting. It’s a little frustrating that she actually becomes ill if she's serious for too long. You never know what she’s going to say or do though which in general is so much fun. I love her rants about unicorns, her references to Super Mario Brothers, and her “pet” Fluffy. She’s also more confident in this book, more in control of her powers. It’s nice to see her as a strong, independent character.

I’ve never liked the guys as much as Paca. In this book they get their own pov’s which helps. My one nitpick is that I couldn’t keep Ezekiel and Gage straight. There’s actually one chapter where I think even the author got them mixed up.

The relationships in this book are odd. It turns out the guys are physically incapable of telling Paca they love her. There’s a lot of sex as that seems to be the only way they’re able to express their feelings. I wouldn’t mind except outside of the bedroom there’s constant tension between them. I would have liked a little more romance.

Then there's the ending As I said, I think most people will be fine with it. It makes perfect sense, and in some ways it’s very satisfying. I also found it frustrating, bittersweet, and I felt cheated. I really want to vent about it, and I don’t know how to do so without spoiling the book so this is your warning.

This series had an interesting premise, some really funny scenes, and a mc that I loved. As I said at the beginning I’m really glad I read it even if the ending wasn’t my favorite.

One Apocalypse is the final book in The Dark Side series by Kristy Cunning which has become one of my favorite paranormal reverse harem series ever! Reading it was bittersweet, because I'm just not ready to let these characters go. I looked forward to each and every installment, and it makes me sad that this is the last time I'll get to read one.

The four horseman are a hell of a group! They're not perfect by any means, but as the series went on, I fell in love with them more and more. Jude frustrated me the most, but sometimes, I think it's because he's my favorite. However, when it comes to the guys my favorite seems to fluctuate as often as Paca's does. Lol They all took turns wooing me and leaving me swooning. At the same time, I wanted to kick each of their asses a time or two. Don't get me wrong, the situation they're in is super fucking complicated, so I can't hold everything completely against them when they fuck up. Mistakes are bound to happen, and in some cases, their actions are understandable. No matter what, Paca became the center of their world, and by the end, they were worthy of her in my eyes.

I'll miss Paca most of all. She's one of my favorite characters ever! Usually, childish, petty, vain heroines are loathsome creatures that I find extremely hard or impossible to tolerate. In Paca's case though, those things are what makes me love her as much as I do! Her immature antics, vanity, and shallow behavior had me cracking up throughout every book in the series. She may have a long list of faults, but she is strong, resilient, smart, loyal, and never backs down to anyone or anything. Watching her go about winning back her harem and trying to save them and the world showed who she truly was beneath all the costumes, ever changing hair color, tantrums, and crazy. It was easy to see deep down our dear Apocalypse had the biggest heart of all.

I recommend this series to anyone that enjoys paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and/or reverse harem romance. The storyline is fun, entertaining, exciting, fantastical, suspenseful and intriguing! We get trips to purgatory and hell, comedy, action, suspense, and steam! There is rarely a dull moment. All in all, a must read!

Paca has been such a hilarious, entertaining heroine and I’m so sad that her story with her 4 boys is over! I had a TON of fun binging this PNR reverse harem series and I’m dying to read more from this previously new to me author now. If you want a series with (dark) humor, epic action, lots of 90s references, and characters to fall in love with, you need to read this!

Spoilers ahead, 2.5*

I'm on a RH binge so I decided to give this series a try.

Review of the entire series is contained here because I'm lazy like that.

Spoilers ahead

Our h started as a ghost girl who realized she could only stay in the present if she stayed around one of the four men in the house she's "haunting" . For five years she stays with them falling in love with each as time passes. They share women *regularly* between them and she's always wanted to be one of the girls. She's fiercely protective of the guys and one night as someone tried to kill them she turns into a girl. From there we proceed to get the overly long story of Paca, the devil's daughter, and her four horseman of the Apocalypse.

*********
From the very beginning these guys didn't deserve the h, she saves their lives over and over again and they show no gratitude, just smirking all day. She offers them sex, they go looking to hook up because they obviously can't trust someone who's only desire is to have sex with them all.

Paca's devotion continued throughout and we just don't get the same from the guys. She develops super awesome powers as time passes and the truth of her identity is slowly revealed.

Paca reminded me of Sarah from this author's mc books. I loved her in books 1 and 2 but by book 3 the humorous yet murderous psycho routine started wearing on me.

Book 3 was tedious with the fumbling attempt at explaining Paca and the events that led to their predicament. So much talk of balance to try to reason a crazy ass plot

Book 4 was ok but the ending was a disappointment, to have had her leveled up so much only to return as a bumbling and immature character made me feel cheated. After enduring so much to boost her powers she deserved to at least return as a badass bitch,

I didn't believe the guys loved her, with them thinking she gets a power boost if they "confess" their love and Jude basically trying to "force" that connection it came across as them trying to improve her powers rather than genuine

All in all I liked Paca......the end

Amazing conclusion to this addicting apocalyptic series! I cried, I laughed, I giggled, and I swooned!

Wow, what an amazing conclusion to the series. I devoured it in days, which is a testament to how addicting it was! Plus, the 90s references and the Mario Brothers connections were hilarious! Du nun nun nun nun nun 😂😂😂 (yup... the Mario theme songs are STILL in my head lol). Oh and the evil laugher signifying wins were everything... mwuahahaha!!! DYING 😂😂😂. (this review is from two years ago)

In books 1-3, we found out that there’s a lot going on with Paca and the men, or the Apocalypse and the Four Horsemen. we found out that she was there for a reason and was connected to the men at a deeper level than they could have ever imagined. Paca basically died before in order to come back stronger and find a way of defeating Jahl. In order for her to be able to defeat him, she needs to take a lot of pain, a lot of punishment, and a lot of hits in order to recover and level up at a stronger level than before. So, she enlists the help of her siblings to basically get her a$$ kicked, as well as the help from archangels and any being that can cause her to crumble and get down, but then it allows her to rise up stronger, more bada$$, and more powerful because that's the only way she can defeat him.

The Four Horsemen aren't happy with this; they don’t want to see her in pain, and she’s keeping a lot of secrets. She's not able to lie or deceive them, so she ops to keep a lot of information to herself or deflect whenever they ask her questions. This causes a rift in the relationship she has with the men, but it needs to get done in order for her to continue on the path that the old Paca created for her. The old Paca was smart, and she had these failsafe plans in order to ensure that Jahl could be defeated. Unfortunately, these plans involved a lot of emotional pain not only to her but to the men too.

There’s only so much I could say, but there’s so much I want to say. In book 3, Gage really connected with Paca, forging a connection that allowed her to see how much he really loves her. At the beginning of book 4, Ezekiel makes this connection as well. Soon after, she and Kai connect. The only one that’s left is Jude. Jude has been the one that was the most hesitant, the most skeptical when it comes to her. Every time she connects to them at a deeper level, saying that I love yous needed, she becomes stronger and the men get stronger as well. It takes Jude a long time to get to that level. Meanwhile, they have to continue to train and get stronger in order to defeat Jahl.

The sexy times in this book were hot (though not nearly often enough)! We see her with men individually and in ménages, and then we get ONE true RH in the epilogue. I understand that because so much happens in this book, the romance has to be put on the back burner, but I still wanted more! What we do get were 🔥visceral, sexy, scorching hot, emotional, deep, raw, soul-wrenching connections that were palpable and ❤️. Gah, I love them !!!

Get ready to cry, because I was ugly crying towards the end! I couldn’t even breathe, but I tend to get emotional in my books LOL.

I loved this series!

⚠️ Safety squad⚠️
-no cheating/omd
-sharing is only done within the RH group
-the damn OW from book 3 makes an appearance in the epilogue (I’m looking at you Chl-hoe-y)
-get tissues ready for the sadness that will overcome you during the battle scenes
-eh.. we see death happen (um... see my reference to the tissues and ugly crying above)

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I'm so torn on this book.

I hated how she reset everything in the epilogue - it felt like the Paca we've come to know and love from all the preceding books was just wiped out. And she had none of the memories we readers had. I'm surprisingly not that interested in Cunning's next RH book - I didn't feel any connection with the characters when I read the excerpt on her website.

With that said, I love Paca and her guys. Right up until the ending, I'd have given this one 4 stars.

After all that Paca went through this is the ending we'll get? I'm gonna be honest. This series started strongly and we have a badass heroine and heroes but this finale broke that consistency.

Listening to an audiobook with multiple POVs is challenging and the adventures they went through will keep you on the edge of your seat. However, I want a smoother ending. I felt like all Paca's hardwork went to waste.

Aaaaand I'm done with this series. This is/will be the best RH I'll ever read given that I'm not all that much of a fan of it but this was so well written to make me love it so much.

The humour is immaculate with this one(as a whole series, I mean).

Now, I'm sad that the author is no longer with us anymore and we won't get more gems from her(even though I still got a whole lotta books from her to read but what if I run out of them one day?) *shaking, sobbing, throwing up at the same time*.

RIP, Kristy.

The Dark Side has been one of the best reverse harem series from all of the other weak RH series out there currently, as such I expected the final book to be on par with the last three books but damn this one fell so far off from the mark, I mean that epilogue.. man, I don't think I have ever felt this unsettled about an epilogue before.

This book had clear defined goals with an endgame and yet it doesn't utilise this structure to flesh out a book rich in content, it almost felt lazy. Paca has to level up to face off Jahl and yet every level up essentially is the same thing only the opponents changed. Someone has to beat the crap out of her and that triggers the level up, that's all the fights summarised. So if I have seen this once and it's repeated over and over, no matter the humour or sarcasm, I'm still waiting for something more, something different other than just a power reveal with the same monotonous fight.

I felt the guys' POV was actually nothing of substance. None of their voices were distinguishing enough in the first place except for Jude and that's only because he is always pissed off and glaring at Paca, dude wanted to strangle her all the time that it becomes ridiculous. All four of them are so emotionally stifled that even reading through their POV doesn't show us that they have deep feelings for Paca you know? I expected emotions since it's the last freaking book but honestly I found them sparse if any despite the I-love-you's which the guys can't even say. Cool.

Paca was at times OTT with her dialogues or actions. There are times when she comes across as such an independent character, I actually liked that she took decisions herself irrespective of whatever the guys felt. That friction in their relationship actually made sense but the way it is "resolved" which is the epilogue is such a cop out.

Even though the book was lukewarm with things that felt like filler, it's the epilogue that ruins the deal for me. I think I will always remember this sense of disbelief every time this series is brought up.

This is the final book in the series that is essentially one story told over 4 books. This is not a stand alone, so you have to read these in order for them to make any sense as they pick up right where the previous book left off. In the first 3 books, the POV is the h's throughout, but at the end of book 3 and throughout this book, it shifts to multiple POV so we get the guys' takes on things which I really liked and wish would have started sooner.

I won't get into details of the plot, but there are a few things I will note about the series as a whole.
Things I liked:
--- I liked that the h was a bad ass - she didn't need saving and she could kick all of her men's asses
--- STEAMY GOODNESS - once it got started; took a little while to get there
--- Overall story was interesting and engaging; some twists and turns that kept me wanting to find out what happened next

Things I didn't like as much:
--- Synonyms for "smirk/smirking" - sneer, ogle, leer, grin, smug look, eye, gloat, squint
I thought about keeping a count of the number of times the author used the word "smirk" in one book, but I lost count in the 20's and I wasn't a quarter of the way through the story. FIND A NEW WORD PLEASE. It was annoying AF.
--- Some of the h's dialogue and behavior was pretty immature which detracted from the scenes, especially if it was a high tension moment; I get that it was meant to be somewhat of a comic relief attempt but it fell short in those instances
--- If you are going to incorporate a 90's boy band as a plot point, do NOT go with one of the crappiest ones
--- One of the H's was super stubborn and very untrusting which made him the least fave of the reader; you just don't feel the connection with him the same way you do about the other 3; I know what the author was going for there, but it made the H unlikable more often than not
--- Did NOT like the epilogues --- this is a MAJOR SPOILER

So, overall a 3-3.5 rating for the series. This book was a 4+ up to the end where it went to a 1-2 for me, so overall gets a 3.

Plot --- 3.5/5
Main Characters --- 3/5
Supporting Cast --- 3/5
Steam Level* --- 4.5/5 (everything but M/M)
Violence --- yes, some graphic but none domestic
Language --- Yep
POV --- Multiple; the POV was rotating this time (the other books have been h's POV; this one covered h mostly but also had chapters from the Hs' perspectives as well)

*Note that steam level is not a rating so much as a how hot was it: 0/5 - clean; 1/5 - mild (nothing descriptive); 2/5 - 3rd base action/1 home run; 3/5 - now we're getting somewhere (a couple of full-on steamy scenes); 4/5 - yes please! (erotica territory); 5/5 - they did EVERYTHING in this one, y'all

This series is just a really fun time! It opened my eyes to reverse harem romance, which I enjoyed. I loved all of the characters along with the paranormal aspects. The writing was a little jumpy and disjointed at times, I couldn't always follow or have a clear picture of the scene. However, it was a memorable story with funny and interesting characters.

Kristy Cunning 's Dark Side series is like the sinful gift that just keeps giving. Can't wait for the final two books in the series to be out. I need my fix woman!!

The finale to the series didn’t disappoint 👏. I feel like a lot happened in this book: a lot of trials, frustration, distrust, spice, love, and action 👊. It was super sweet and as hilarious as the previous ones, and I’m kinda sad it’s all over now... I would love to read on about the insane and funny hell-spawn Apocalypse and her harem of horsemen!

This series was better than I expected!

I really like this author, apparently. I've just realized that there are a lot of other books I've read by her (her other name is CM Owens) and she's really, really good at writing fun, exciting UFs.

This is the series you read when you want something light and fun, fastpaced and engaging, with great characters and a (common but) good plot.

Definitely worth reading.

This was the final part of the series and Paca is in training for her biggest fight ever.
One that will hopefully save the world instead of heralding in her namesake the apocalypse.
She is ready to undertake this massive feat along with her 4 trusty horsemen right by her side.
So again this was chock full of ridiculous one-liners and had a big vein of humour running straight through its centre, Paca is certainly full of sass much to her horseman's chagrin.
Her power here reaches apocalyptic heights which she is going to need if shes got any chance of beating Jahl in the arena.
All her boys are ready to fight and die right by her side even Jude who is still struggling with accepting his feelings.
Paca is going to need a completed quid if she is going to have any chance of winning the upcoming battle.
So yeh I enjoyed this, I wasn't a massive fan of the eventual outcome here but it did provide closure and the eventual HEA I was after for our lovingly evil Quintet.
I also could feel all the connections here and each individual personality felt distinct something you don't always get in reverse harem books.
This wasn't my favourite instalment of the series but taken as a whole I've enjoyed it.
its been a non-stop fun-filled ride and I would defiantly recommend this unique series.

Alright, so we now know Paca (aka The Apocalypse) and her Four Horsemen are supposed to battle and kill Jahl, who has amassed too much dark power and wants to destroy everything. So Paca and her guys have to "level up" as much as possible in preparation of the big battle. Paca is also trying to decipher all the clues her former self left to help with the upcoming battle - why she had to hide them in convoluted clues is still a mystery to me. The big battle comes just as

I liked the premise of this series. The plot was exciting and action-packed, but now that I am at the end, I just have an average liking of it. I think I would have liked the book more if Paca wasn't so whiny and annoying; I tried to just ignore that. Smut level could have been higher with hotter scenes, but there was plenty of sex happening. 3 out of 5 smut rating.

Horrible. This female lead is atrocious. She's not "selflessly selfish". She's JUST selfish. A straight up spoiled brat. The writing is confusing, amateurish and rambles constantly. This series started out fine and trapped me into a false sense of "this could be good....". So by the time the whole thing took a seriously stupid turn for the worse, I was too invested in the ending. Time wasted that I'll NEVER get back.

I actually alarms me that this received so many positive reviews.

2022 reads book 32

“It’s a big commitment to state you’re going to save the world when you’re designed purpose is to destroy it.”

I'm so torn. The way the characters evolved just didn't seem to make a lot of sense to me. I thought the whole "love" thing would give her a powerboost or something, but it didn't. And while I get the ending and it felt necessary, I also feel like it's very bittersweet? . The battles were cool, and I really liked that we saw more of the Hell-siblings, but our fierce boys just turned into love sick puppies. Just disappointed I would say.

This was awesooooome!!!
I'm so glad I stuck with the series!

This was fast-paced, action-packed, and even funnier than the first two parts! Fluffy and revenge on all unicorns had me laughing out loud!
The story is told in different POVs so we get to see the boys' version of events, but if you are looking for more insight into their characters or some significant character building, don't get your hopes up.
The story is plot-based without going deeper into the characters, more like the characters leveling up through the plot.

I loved the ending and I closed the book with a huge grin on my face!

So we’re at the end of this series! I would say finally, but honestly it didn’t take that long to get here since the books are pretty short.
The beginning of this series was better than the end of it for me. It took some turns that I didn’t see coming, but it also took some turns that I didn’t really understand and at some points I just had to roll with it and hope it made more sense later down the line (it did. Eventually. Mostly).
I also didn’t LOVE Paca and The Horsmens relationship, they didn’t really act like they even half liked her until the very end of the book. For a romance addict like myself, that can severely impact the rating of a book because naturally the relationships, spice etc are my favourite parts.
But the series as a whole was fun, interesting, hilarious and unique as well as super quick.

i couldn't have asked for a better series to take my reverse harem virginity. if you're interested in a rh that has dark humor, four soul reaping psychos that are sexy af, a wickedly bad ass heroine & a really good plot, begin with book 1 Four Psychos [5/5 ★]
"We really are her motherfucking harem, aren’t we? Unbelievable."

my expectations with rh's have become very high. these are quick reads and all free on kindle unlimited!

one apocalypse had the perfect ending for this series. i am so sad that it is over. i'll definitely be re-reading this series again in the future. if you enjoyed this one by Kristy, i definitely suggest her all the pretty monsters series -- starting with Gypsy's Blood

skull

gage and kai ended up being my favorite boys, and jude... you are the perfect amount of broody seduction.
“Paca! There are shadows doing something nefarious!” Kai shouts like it’s a good warning."

OMFG lolz
“I can’t tell if the unicorn is horny or angry,” Kai says uncertainly, as we all cant our heads to the side to see it trying to pin Jude down. Jude, releasing an indignant yell of frustration, looks like he’s ready to blow the world to pieces all by himself, as he manages to get free and stun the beast with a hard hit to the head.

“Sometimes, I can’t tell if Jude is horny or angry, so maybe they’re kindred,” I point out.

SO SO EXTRA lol

This may be the most important review of the year yet!
YOU GUYS. This is it. This is the series that got me hooked to the RH world. This is the series that set the bar and set it high.

I wish I was ceremoniously crying or something.
But I’m just sad.

I FUCKING HATED PACA IN THIS BOOK.
It’s true. I did. She was infuriating as usual but this time I was slightly annoyed. But I think that’s what she wanted.

Listed below were notes I jotted down while reading:
Book 4:
The most important review yet.
Id like to point out that the length of time between the last book and this one has nearly taken away the excitement of this installment.

I’M HAVING TO DO SO MUCH BACK TRACKING, KRISTEN. Unacceptable.

Where did all the angels come from??!

I forgot Ezekiel’s name. If that has any indication of the amount of time that’s passed.
Nearly forgot Kai’s. Ugh, crying.

Why haven’t they called her treacherous treasure yet!????

Oh wait Nevermind.

Oh I find myself hating Paca in this book. They all seem to hate her, too.

It’s chapter seven and I find that I still have NO FUCKING CLUE as to what the fuck is going on.

Chapter 15:
She’s almost too animated in this book.
I don’t like it.
Disappointed.

Chapter 16:
I went back to my review of the third book to see if anything jogged my memory. Nothing. Past me wrote nothing of sustenance that current me could use regarding the angels and whoever Jahl is. And that was in June. Should I go back and read the third book?

Let’s talk about Fluffy.
On second thought- WHO ELSE HOPED FLUFFY WOULD BE A UNICORN.
But like what are the horses named?
Puffy? Floofy? Puppy? Pupper wupper?

^that concludes my notes.

So let’s talk. This was not my favorite book of Paca. But I loved the men’s viewpoint. The epilogues were my favorite part
I understood what had to happen but it made me sad. Then epilogue two really brought it together for me.

I’ll be honest. I had no memory of the third book. Kind of fitting with the ending AM I RIGHT????

I wish there was a fifth book.
Epilogue Paca was my fave. I wanna know her more.

This will always be my number one RH. Because, Jude. Fucking swoon.

So I leave this series with a warm heart. I’ll never forget these characters. (Even if I forgot book 3)

"Life was simpler when she was a horny ghost who wanted to be a real girl," I decide aloud.
"We should have fucked her brains out, spoiled her, and kept her out of Hell," Gage adds.

Welp, it's over. And I'm left with…conflicted emotions. Which annoys me! I don't want to be conflicted, I just wanted to love it! Now don't get me wrong, it's good. It's just not AS good as the other ones. I'm sad it's over, but a little disappointed, too. This one had some really funny moments, but wasn't as funny as the previous books. Maybe, overall, it's just not what I expected, because I won't say I didn't like, I so did, it just felt like it was lacking…something.

Paca returns, a huge smile on her face and a bag of popcorn that immediately starts popping with spitfire cracks against the heat of hell. Her eyes widen.
"Look! Hell's popping it for me! It's-"
The bag catches fire and the popcorn turns to ash almost immediately in the next instant, as she just stares in horror at the embers being whisked off by the soft wind.
We all give her a tired look.
She looks more concerned about the fucking popcorn than the torturous match she's about to face.
"This really is Hell if it'll do that to my helpless popcorn right when I need it the most!" Paca groans, whimpering as she tries to lift some of the ash pile. "Grow back," she commands the ashes as if though they'll listen.
"Someone talk some sense into her before I strangle her," I state tightly, barely restraining myself.

I still love The Apocalypse and the Four Horsemen. That certainly didn't change with this book. I won't deny I have a serious girl crush on Paca. I would give her all the damn roses, she's one of my all-time favorites. And I love how well Ezekiel, Gage, Jude, and Kai fit with her. I really did enjoy seeing them finally find their way into a cohesive, delightfully twisted unit. They're still great together.

Whenever Jude calls me a treacherous treasure in that thick, Romanian accent he summons so effortlessly, it makes me want to throw my panties at him.
Mostly because I've learned that's when he's feeling weak and wants me but doesn't want to want me. My evil laugh did it for him?
He's an odd one.

I gotta say, while I was reading, the big showdown scene it felt anticlimactic. But then there was a huge fucking twist. And I gotta say I liked how it turned out, I'm good with the way it ended. But I think the big battle deserved more page time. It seemed rushed and kind of skimmed over.

The Four Horsemen follow along behind The Apocalypse, as a fallen angel trails them, so they can prepare to save the world…while The Apocalypse talks about revenge on all unicorns to a bull that snorts several times in what sounds like agreement.
No one's ever going to take us seriously.
I can't even deal with this shit right now.

So while I didn't absolutely love this book like I wanted to, I do love this series. I love Paca and her guys. I will definitely be going back at some point to re-read the series. And I would love to see more. Like some scenes from their past human lives that are depicted in the paintings in the Sick Hall of Fame. I would seriously read the shit out of that.

What an amazing journey.

I enjoyed this series so much and I am sorry to see it end.

I loved Paca and all her craziness. She made me laugh and smile during this whole journey.

This version of The Four Horsemen and The Apocalypse was amazing. It just the right amount of everything to make a good story.

I think most RH lovers will enjoy this series.

The series had what an amazing start! I was so intrigued. Our Ghost Girl Paca was so wow! Her dialogues were stupendous. Her relationship with the other four - great.

But then as the series progressed - The plot got real messy and I lost my interest then.

Multiple POVs? I think CM Owens should've let us into the guys' head sooner. I hope One Apocalypse releases before the real apocalypse kills us all... Well, THE Apocalypse should hurry up, then.
