These were the first Marple mysteries i've listened to. I'd previously read a couple of the first Marple books but mainly, I watch the tv series. I note how much different the Marple books are from the tv adaptations in comparison to the Poirot ones which are usually pretty close. Nemesis is so different in that it is basically a different story all together!
I was happy with the choice of the Marple character's voice, especially since she portrayed Marple as not so flat and dour as Joan Hickson did (my least favorite).
My biggest problem was with the actor portraying the Gwenda character in the Sleeping Murder and her horrible accent which went back and forth between the proper New Zealand accent and what sounded like a Southern US accent!

Another excellent bunch of stories/plays which again has sated my Mrs Christie addiction. Excellent dramatisations with Miss Marple played by June Whitefield and an excellent cast supporting her. Nemesis has always been my favourite Christie book and I was 'fair chuffed' to see it was included in this set which also included some lesser known works by the author. Overall and excellent listen.

To listen to this I sat on my favourite comfy chair, grabbed a hot chocolate, shut the rain out and didn't move till I had heard them all! A perfect day :)

Audiobook, dramatised.
As I was already familiar with many of the stories in this compilation it ended up being, essentially, a relisten. The back to back collection made for good, easy listening, company while I was 'packing boxes to move'.

A nice way to revisit some of the Miss Marple novels & short stories. The vocal actors were enjoyable and it was fun to listen to radio versions.

5 Stars. This one demonstrates the versatility of Agatha Christie in her presentation of Miss Jane Marple. You can find 32 entries in the Marple collection, of which 12 are novels and the rest short stories. Here are 7 of them - some of the very best. "Nemesis" belongs in the top drawer. Miss Marple met Jason Rafiel in the Caribbean while on holiday a year earlier. Such an interesting man. She reads of his passing, and soon afterwards receives a letter from his lawyer requesting a meeting. Would she undertake a challenge from Mr. Rafiel? Years earlier, a terrible crime had been committed. Can she serve as the nemesis for the real perpetrator? The other novel I salute is "The Moving Finger." Most recipients ignored them but one of the many poison pen letters circulating in Lymstock appears to hit its mark, and a suicide results. One of the other recipients makes a call to Miss Marple. There are three short stories in this BBC Radio 4 collection. "Tape-Measure Murder" is one of the best. How did Mrs. Spenlow die? She's been found at home with several people, including the police, trying to get in to help. In all, seven great ones. (April 2021)
