Hana is pressed into a marriage meeting with Takane, a scion of a business empire, impersonating her sister to save her father's job! Ready to put that fiasco behind her Hana is shocked that Takane actually seems interested in her! She is exasperated by his immaturity but intrigued despite herself at the fun she has as they try to outwit one another...
Takane & Hana vol 8 sees major changes for Takane and Hana as they move toward an unexpected change to their living arrangements! I was truly shocked where events led these two... There was so much family involved!! I was floored. I do love it that we are exploring Hana's feelings through these events... she's always professed to be a lot less interested than Takane whose actions speak for themselves.
Really the end of Takane & Hana vol 8 was so shocking... I kept saying no way, no way!! I mean its totally a trope that Asians (Koreans, Japanese) love but no, no, no way! But YES WAY!!! I admit that I was totally buzzing the entire volume... I was like Hana, I was DYING to know what Takane would have said to her father. I totally related to how she was feeling... This time we don't really get a sense of what Takane thought. That was curious to me.
Nikola is always very curious to me... I love, love, love his contributions to Takane & Hana vol 8. AND we get an appearance from the delightfully overwrought Rina who always pushes Hana's buttons and because we started with her I was quite shocked at the twist at the end. I was totally loving the twist but things built very swiftly to this moment at the end. TBH I love the advancement to this level of commitment. It's kinda time, y'all!!
When it comes to comedy manga the art in Takane & Hana vol 8 is just what I'm looking for. I personally love the fighting and sparring between Takane and Hana. I love how they don't quite fit physically and taste wise and yet you know they are perfect for each other BECAUSE of those differences. You can see that in the visuals. There is one scene where he can't take Hana's teasing anymore and wham! And another where the contrast of the art says it all about these two!! GAH I'm so glad that I chose to read Takane & Hana way back at volume 1!
Takane & Hana vol 8 is taking Takane and Hana's relationship to a whole new level and its so exciting... its practically a game changer for romance!! Asians LOVE this trope and I totally hope that Yuki Shiwasu goes there. This really is a k-drama lover's manga, I highly suggest it to hate to love romance lovers too, you wouldn't want to miss this series.

If you're here wondering if after eight volumes this story is still worth it, I'd say it is. It's really just a little bit above average but it's entertaining and filled with lovely characters. The story does center on Takane and Hana, though. And this volume wasn't an exception.
Watch out for spoilers from now on, this review is aimed for those who have read as far as the seventh volume.
I didn't feel much the seventh and was a little afraid the story had lost steam. I think this volume recovered, it was so cute seeing Takane and Hana interact, especially after Takane's situation change. And we get some indication of where the author will go with the romance. I'm starting to wonder what she's going to do to have the happy ending, since we can't keep reading this for two more years of Hana's life.
In any case, as you can see, the story still keeps me interested.
Honest review based on an ARC provided by Edelweiss. Many thanks to the publisher for this opportunity.
Not only does the story improve my mood but the story's mood itself improved! It is well played out, even though it is a little slow. I don't even mind that it's slow because there is so much humor. Even the little lines of text contain something either funny or useful for plot/character dev.
We are beginning to see the old Takane (lol) again in this one. The character dev is so perfectly done. *applause* Hana is doin her best and is holding up quite well.
The only drawback to this series is the stupid age gap! I hate it. I've decided to stay in the state of mind where Hana is 18 and Takane is 20-21.
The cliffhanger is brutal but bearable because it's so funny.
I was originally going to rate this higher, but I feel like Takane's character regressed instead of progressing the way I want. So, I find myself disappointed in the results of this volume. However, I still like where things are going with Hana's development so that's why it gets a three star instead of rating it even lower. I really hope things get better in the next installment because I hate to be disappointed.
This was a good volume, solid comedy and growth in the relationship. While there is still a bit of tug of war being played between Hana and Takane in terms of confessing their feelings, I just genuinely enjoy seeing them together. You can tell they enjoy each other’s company and even though they tease each other a lot, that’s just how they are. Most of the comedy comes from Hana’s dead eyes as she delivers sarcastic/sadistic responses to Takane, which I enjoyed. I’m thrilled Okamon has been relegated to the sidelines for now, because he’s still not interesting. This volume’s ending sets up an interesting conflict for future volumes, so I’m curious to see where this will go. Although seriously, why is Rino still relevant? She knows she doesn’t stand a chance, just back off and let the two lovebirds be dysfunctional lovebirds. Whatever, I guess it can’t be helped, but still. A good volume, good continuation of the arc, can’t wait for volume 9!
I continue to really enjoy this innocent age gap romance! You can tell that they both clearly have feelings for each other. They have solidly drawn the line that they won't cross until Hana is of legal age though. For both of their sakes. They do continue to go on innocent dates, and share their feelings through playful banter. The Valentine's Day dynamic in this volume was really fun as well. Its just an auto buy series for me, and I always consume it right away.
Amazing😍 This volume is full of surprises and news. And the end is just... wow! I've realized what was going to happen before the end, but it was surprising however! Can't wait to read the next volume❤️
I devoured the series over the course of a couple of months. Took a little longer than I hoped because a few of them decided to take forever from Amazon. Hana ends up roped into taking her older sisters place in a marriage match never expecting that anything would come from it. Instead a we get a very sweet comical whirlwind romance between her and Takane.
I ended up reading the first one and instantly ordering the rest of them it's such a cute series kind of a enemies to lover romance between them. I loved Hana she's an adorable character and I think because of her I'm going to do bubblegum pink hair next. Each manga has the pair growing as characters. Takane had a lot of growing to do but he get's there eventually.
The artwork is as equally lovely as the story. I was captivated right from the start and fell in love with Hana and Takane's story. This is one of my favorite series that I'm so glad I purchased the set. They will always have a special place on my bookshelf and I know they will get some re-reads as I wasn't ready to say goodbye just yet. I plan to read the authors other manga as I loved this one so much. Highly recommend a perfect sweet romance.
AHHHHHHH that cliffhanger of an ending!!! *bangs fists on table*
We definitely had some more "slip-ups" in this volume from Takane and while I still ultimately ship Otamon and Hana, I'm here for the Takane and Hana ship too. LOL! (I know that's so contradictory, but I know Okamon has ZERO chance of actually winning soooo…) Lots of good moments and thought Takane looked really nice in that beanie. I do second what Hana said though and that I miss the modest, humble Takane. LOL!
Also I gotta say. I'm 100% here for seeing Hana trying to get Takane love her more then she loves him. LOL! I'm ready to see the shenanigans unfold…
Overall, a really nice volume, as we see some resolve from both characters, and the start of an interesting new development. Also, Takane is dominating his company! 4.5 stars.
Reread January 14th, 2022 This was a fun volume. Hana resolving to and the ending makes me want to jump straight into the next volume. 4 stars.
For much of the last volume, it felt like things were getting pretty serious, but this one had me laughing out loud again. Hana and Takane are back at it in full. However, it is also interesting to see how things are changing as Hana really starts owning up to having feelings for Takane. It's also pretty sad that she feels she has to hide it, but at the same time, given their age difference, how else would it play out. The ending is certainly interesting... and of course it kinda cliff-hangers there, so I guess I'll be waiting a while to see where it goes.
I'm wondering where, when and how this series will end. Will there be a time jump? I definitely see Takane and Hana staying together (I don't think there's any doubt or competition on that front), but will we suddendenly get an adult Hana (I can't imagine going through 2-4 years like this as humorous as it can be)? That being said, it will be interesting to see what will happen in the next volume after the surprise ending.
Never fails to put a smile on my face. I love Takane to Hana! It's one of my favorite manga. It's just so funny, and cute. I get really excited when I see that a new volume has come out.
I think what makes this series good is the fact it is so fun. The relationship between Takane and Hana is complex and constantly changing. Definitely and interesting end to this volume. The whole volume was fun and interesting, it was well paced and well drawn. I look forward to the next volume.
Today's manga is on Takane & Hana, Vol. 8 by Yuki Shiwasu. It is 200 page long and is published by Shojo Beat. The cover has Hana Takane with chocolate all around them. As is it the eighth in the series, you need to have read the first seven volumes in the series to understand the story. There is no foul language, no sex, and no violence in this manga. The intended reader is someone who likes hurmous over the top manga. The story is told from third person close of Hana. There Be Spoilers Ahead. From the back of the manga- Valentine’s Day rolls around, and Hana wonders what she should give Takane even as she struggles to hide her feelings from him. Meanwhile, Hana’s father poses a question to Takane—exactly how long is he planning to continue his arranged marriage relationship with Hana?
Review- Hana is still dealing understand her feeling towards Takane. But she doesn't know how Takane feels about her, so she decides to just try and annoy or ignore him. That is easier said than done. Takane himself has taken the first steps of proven himself to her grandfather but that has it's own consequences, as his grandfather moves Hana and her whole family in Takane's house. This is going to get even more ridiculous than ever and I can not wait see it.
I give this volume a Five out of Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.
