A great quick read! Casey & George seem like any other young couple, madly in love & looking at a bright future. However, George's obsession with the paranormal might ruin all of that.

After George's tragic accident, Casey finds herself so distraught over his death that she decides to leave her home & start a new life. However, the strange man from her nightmares has other ideas!

Great characters & truly scary nightmare scenes abound in this book. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

As a longtime fan of vampire fiction, I am always looking for a new twist to an old tale. This book definitely has that in spades! I especially liked the additional vampire lore at the end of the book & will definitely be reading more about the "new" vampire myths!

5 UNFORGETTABLE ⭐️'s for "Night Stalker" by: R.L. Weeks.
100% spoiler free ARC review
Dive into a world unlike any other. Travel into the brilliant mind of R.L. as she grabs your attention from go leaving you screaming for more at the end.
Of course, there are plenty of things between the first and last page worth mentioning, for starters - The words dance across the pages and begin to unfold before your eyes. Then there is her ability to make every character relatable in one way or another.
Casey is your everyday, girl next door, with one exception - her boyfriend George, he is obsessed with the supernatural and drags her all over the world searching for things that go bump in the night. Even though she doesn't believe in the paranormal she travels with him.
George is also obsessed with Casey's heritage, she doesn't understand why, since there is nothing there to be found.
They arrive home in Pleasant Springs, where Casey is struck with two tragedies almost immediately. After a year of dealing with invasive nightmares and her dads continuous drinking, she decides it's time to move on and her mom couldn't be happier waiting to see her in Arizona.
Problem is, Casey never makes it. Instead she runs right into the last person she ever expected to see. Next thing she knows, she is at a hotel with the mystery man who tortured her dreams.
Casey quickly finds out George was right about a few things. Most important, there are things that go bump in the night, and Casey now has to make a choice, fight for her life - or become one of them. He was also right about something else. Her heritage IS important.
Can Casey trust the sexy Scorpio? The only 'person' in this underground world who seems to want her to survive, or is he using her for his own advantage?
Find out what happens when a nightmare turns into reality and reality turns into a nightmare, in this fast paced thrilled ride.
Absolutely recommend for any paranormal lover. Especially if you're searching for something that pushes through the boundaries of your everyday PNR, something unique, well thought out with perfect timing. Absolutely worth every 5 freaky star.
** Content Warning **
Does contain some adult sex scenes. But in no way is it overdone at all nor does it take away from the storyline, if anything, the few scenes enhance the story. And this is coming from someone who loves the story and can absolutely live without the sex.

This book is a bit crazy, it goes from a very normal story to what the hell vampires are real, type of things.
So we have this young woman Casey who actually follows her boyfriend around in adventure seeking the super natural. They end up in Japan in that super creepy forest where nobody in their right mind should go. Then she sees something but she isn't really sure and sort of decide to forget about it.
So they go home and as a reader you are totally not thinking about anything weird but you're so wrong.
Then the true story is coming up and it's kind of scary in the what the hell horrible sort of way, you have the nightmare coming to life when the man who was stalking Casey in her dream actually takes shape but he is really not the main of her problem because worse is coming. To the point that you can easily get lost of the story when Casey's options are closing up.
One thing I wonder is why confront her stalker at that particular moment instead of getting herself safe first and confront him later.
And the second is damn I hate those cliff hangers. I mean I know that's book one and that there will be book two but the end is so abrupt it killed me.

The Prologue of this book was intriguing, mysterious, and ended with a shocker. I was hooked immediately.
The nightmare scenes were definitely frightening and had my pulse racing as Casey struggled to get away/wake up.
There was no shortage of action and suspense in this book. I didn't know who or what to trust as events moved along. There were so many twists and turns, along with unlikely alliances and plenty of betrayals. Events kept taking deeper and darker turns, and I was left on the edge of my seat with a need to know how things would end. I was pulling for Casey and in awe of her strength and bravery. I wanted to see her overcome these powerful forces that were fighting against her, but the ending left off with a threat and had me wondering and in need of the next book in the series! This book had it all and I cannot wait to read the rest of the books in the series.

I am so excited for the next book in this series! December cannot come soon enough and that cliffhanger is going to taunt me until then. There were so many twists and turns that at one point I found myself screaming at Casey not to trust anyone. Weeks has really outdone herself on this one. She does a remarkable job setting up this series with Night Stalker. She lays out ground work and creates a world that still seems “normal” despite supernatural beings existing. She also introduces many relatable and “normal” seeming characters in this story leaving the reader rooting for the “good guys”. Unfortunately, not all of them were as good as they seemed but instead were just good at keeping secrets. I am so excited to see where Weeks takes this story.

Night Stalker by R.L. Weeks was a unique twist on vampires and the lore surrounding them. The story starts off one way and then ends with something totally different. I wasn’t mad at that. Not. At. All. I loved that the author added an occult touch to the characters. While I didn’t love Casey right off the bat, I slowly came around. Oh Scorpio…let’s just say I can’t wait for the book. If you’re a fan of paranormal and vampires, you should definitely check out this book! I give this 4 stars.

My review is based on the Audiobook. Night Stalker id the first in series and the Author does a nice job of laying the groundwork. Casey was a little whiney for me in the beginning but once she is betrayed she gets a back bone and becomes more likable in my eyes. I am eager to see where the Author takes the story, especially Casey & Scorpio. The narrator did a nice job of bringing the story to life with easy to understand and distinct character voices. I look forward to more.

I loved listening to this story and its monsters of the night. From the beginning of the story I was captured and just had to hear more. I really enjoyed that it doesn't follow normal popular vampire mythology and swings in its own direction. Marissa had a wonderful voice and her emotion helps make the story spooky. There were times when words were cut off or unclear, but it didn't effect understanding it is just something that bothers me when it happens (even with everyday speech).

The lore is intriguing. The characters seem rushed and exaggerated. Cliffhanger ending. I don't normally say too many harsh things, but I feel compelled to tell you the Audible version should be avoided. Overdramatic narration aside, the poor audio editing (skipped lines, audio gaps, repeated lines, stumbles, I even heard a barking dog in the background) really detracts from the story. To give this book a fair chance, read the story in its physical or e-version format.

Night Stalker by R.L. Weeks immersed me into a world that is dark, cruel and soulless!! In that darkness there is light, her name is Casey. She is the girl that is prophesied o end the terror that is the Lilith. I really enjoyed the interaction between Scorpio and Casey and this story is far from over. I cannot wait to read more and more from this series. You amazing me R.L. Weeks!!

Such a great paranormal read with a unique twist to night stalkers and their world. I loved delving into the story. I was drawn in immediately. I couldn't put it down. Big decisions must be made within a short time. Who to trust? So much seems to be on the line for all sides. I love how descriptive the world and characters seem. It helps envision the overall picture. Another great read ♡

I have loved this author's work and this book did not fail to disappoint me at all. It was so totally engrossing that I could not put it down. It was different than anything I have read before and so well written. The skill the author writes with is amazing too, as always. She is a born short-term. I cannot wait to delve deeper into the dark work of this series. Pick up this book!
