To protect their worlds, Olessia and Ryder must conquer the true enemy. The one that haunts them both. The one they see in the mirror.
Ryder is human. Olessia is something else. At least, that is how it was to begin with. Now, the extraordinary secret that unites them could destroy the people and places they love. Running from an extraterrestrial ruler with a thirst for war, and the enemies who seek to use them to end his rule, the girls are forced onto very different paths. Isolated from each other and the strength their unity brings, Olessia and Ryder will have to confront their deepest fears alone.
Because the power that haunts them, may be all that can save them.

What a page turner... I couldn't put down this action-packed sequel to ExtraOrdinary. Danielle K Girl has created characters that I immediately cared about and has built wonderfully rich new worlds that I wanted to find out more about. The chapters are divided between Olessia and Ryder, with each girl finding themselves drawn into one dangerous situation after another. I gasped out loud at some of the revelations, and cried in despair in the final chapters. There is good and evil, but it's not black and white, which I love about any great storytelling. And while this book ends with the central characters both finding themselves in dire situations, there is a lingering sense of hope - which makes me so excited to read the final book in the trilogy. I would highly recommended book for those who love sci-fi and fantasy!
PS: I really hope I'm not in Hobart when the inhabitants of other worlds decide to visit us! Having a sci-fi novel set somewhere that I'm so familiar with added another level of enjoyment to this great read for me!
An exciting follow-up in which the mystery of a strange new world is gradually revealed. New tensions arise as we get to know a new enemy, and our group of ghost hunters are separated. Ryder is forced to learn quickly about her newfound and dangerous skills while Sophie meets a strange (but wonderful) creature. It ends with a dramatic climax that will make you want to read the next book now!
