"I still love you. I've never been able to get you out of my mind. Out of my heart."
Revisit Jay & Harvey in The Old Fashioned-Wallbanger 2, Book 5 of The Other Team series. USA Today bestselling GLBT romance author Renee George writing as G.R. George invites you to the best little gay bar in the Midwest, where the drinks are cold, the men are hot, and it's always Happy Hour.
Dr. Harvey Grace has never been happier in a relationship. His younger lover, Jay Lincoln, owns The Other Team Bar & Grill, despite the disparity in their ages and occupations, they have an all-consuming passion for each other.
But doubts creep in easily when Jay's handsome ex-lover resurfaces. Not to mention Harvey's ex is still on the scene, too. Can two men hovering on the edge of a future together conquer the past's hold on their hearts--and risk it all for a real shot at love?
This GLBT short contemporary romance contains explicit male/male content and is not intended for readers under the age of 18. The Other Team series was originally called the CockTails series.
About Renee: USA Today Bestselling author Renee George writes paranormal mysteries and romances because she loves all things whodunit, Otherworldly, and weird. Also, she wishes her pittie, the adorable Kona Princess Warrior, and her beagle, Josie the Incontinent Princess, could talk. Or at least be more like Scooby-Doo and help her unmask villains at the haunted house up the street.
When she’s not writing about mystery-solving werecougars or the adventures of a hapless psychic living among shapeshifters, she is preyed upon by stray kittens who end up living in her house because she can't say no to those sweet, furry faces. (Someone stop telling them where she lives!)
She resides in Mid-Missouri with her family and spends her non-writing time doing really cool stuff...like watching TV and cleaning up dog poop.
Author Note: For readers who have enjoyed reading my books and taken the time to share their love in reviews, thank you so much! I can't tell you how much it means to me to know my work is valued.
I love Jay and Harvey more than ever, now. Even though Jack played the part of the antagonist, I must confess that I thought the scenes with Jack were very moving. I think a lot of us can relate to the first love that got away...leaving behind a hugely unrealistic and unfair standard against which all subsequent lovers are compared. It is an amazing, yet bittersweet moment when we get the opportunity to reconnect with our first love, only to realize that their perfection was only a product of our youthful and idealistic misperceptions...and typically, they are incapable of living up to their own image. While sobering, it's a good thing. Your future lovers will benefit from this...In my case, I realized that I actually dodged a bullet...thus, I was rewarded with the knowledge that my husband is not only the man I love now, but is without a shadow of a doubt, the greatest love of my life.
I love Renee's books, they're all hot and sexy but at the same time they are phenomenal reads! They aren't just about gay men... they're about people, their relationships, and the good and bad times.
Wallbangers 2 touches .. well everything. From having ex lovers walk back into your life and how they deal with it, to the stereo type of how men don't like to talk about emotions but really that could be all of us! Harvey and Jay finally realize where their relationship is, where it has been stuck, and where it needs to go and the best part? They move past the bad things in their lives, give forgiveness where it is needed, and embrace each other and their new lives together.
Have a tissue with you when you read this though! It's such a lovely and touching story that yeah, I teared up!
LOVED it! Jay and Harvey are back and and delving deeper into their relationship. The newness has worn off and they are plagued with doubts and fears as to how the other truly feels about them. Then the exs walk into the picture adding more fuel to the fires of doubt and fear till it seems that Jay and Harvey might just walk away from each other for good. I truly can not say enough about the author and how she can seemingly effortlessly capture such raw emotions and feelings, turn around and release them into the written word while pulling you, the reader, in with them till you feel like you are feeling the way the characters are feeling, likes it's happening to you!
Woohoo! Another awesome book by the lovely Renee! I cannot find words to describe how happy I am to read the second part of Jay's and Harvey's story! Once more Renee has written an amazing story full of emotion, which makes us see more on the couple than the first book! A very useful insight in the couple's relationship. I cannot wait for the rest of the books to have sequels!
As short stories go, this was a winner. Dr. Harvey meets bartender Jay one evening at The Other Team bar. They have a casual relationship for a few months but, where is this going? they ask themselves. And their exes are apparent as well. There was enough character background given to analyze their affair as well.
When I look at you, Harvey Grace, my blood ignites with fire.
The story is about Jay and Harvey after 3 month of their non-status-relationship but have agreement to dating exclusively.
No L-word-declaration. No boyfriend things.
Everything seems alright at the moment, until one day Jay's ex, Jack suddenly comeback in his life. Jack was Jay's first in everything... His first love, his first time, the one he ever say The L word in the world, and the one who broke her heart into pieces...
Jay then bring Harvey to met Jack at his bar. Hoping that Jack will see that he's being okay all these years and have someone at his side now. But when Jack asked Harvey if they in relationship, Harvey said that they just good friends. Harvey answer really hurt Jay in some way. They been date exclusively for 3 whole month, and all of that precious-hot-sex between then was just a good friend ????
Jay then start to questioning what exactly had happen between them... And on the other hand, Harvey start to doubt the bound between them...
Will they finally found the answer what they really want in their life ?
I admit, I almost slap Harvey when he decided to met Mark !!!
But overall, the story still quite good to enjoy.... ;)

I enjoyed this one more than the first book. I felt more chemistry between Jay and Harvey. My only issue is they discussed what happened with Harvey's ex Mark, but nothing was said about what happened with Jay and his ex Jack, who showed up out of the blue. Harvey left them to talk, and then didn't hear from Jay. And when they did talk, it was about Mark and nothing about what happened while Jack was there. Just seemed odd that it wouldn't be addressed since Harvey was feeling jealous.
I just discovered this author and I'm sucked into the stories. I especially loved Harvey and Jay's story. These are quick reads, but they pack in quite a bit. I would recommend reading :)
