All things paranormal
Lilith is a vampire and something big is about to happen. Locating all her children to get them to safety is the most important thing right now. Her son does not like her new mate, but they are about to learn new things about each other. Will they all stay safe and will they all survive? JB Trepagnier brings all your favorite paranormal creatures together in one story for a big bang! Absolutely brilliant, I really enjoyed everything about this story. Lilith is now one of my favorite characters.

Well, this one could be a real treat for any paranormal romance lover. I really liked how the author has woven several threads of past and present together bringing a dark yet vibrant love story of two very different individuals.
The book takes off well with the portrayal of Will as a submissive obedient kid. The reader only gets to know later what blood he carries in his veins. Lily is bold and confident and Will’s co-worker. Will couldn’t ignore the intense magnetism he felt towards this beautiful lady who smelled divine.
There’s intrigue, passion, and plenty of romance. The love scenes were sketched out well, however, they felt rushed at some places. A bit more description could make them feel natural and could make them flow well with the story.
I love reading narratives and the book offers some good chunk of the narrative summary with dialogues sprinkles in between.
The ending was laid out well, however, the epilogue could be made a bit actionable rather than just telling what happened to everyone.
But at the end, I enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone who loves reading paranormal romances with a generous dash of passionate romance thrown into it.

When Will meets Lilith, he is smitten by the mysterious woman. More smitten when it seems as if she has feelings for him. They begin to work together and it develops into something more. Will can easily picture himself being in love except something is wrong. Lilith is not an average woman.

I love how such a light easy romance story in the beginning blended into an edge of your seat, bite your nails supernatural thriller. With the mix of biblical elements, this story almost reminded me of Supernatural and the characters were so well fleshed out that they remained interesting throughout.

Definitely a recommended read for lovers of paranormal romance.

In this story of the first demon, Trepagnier delivers a creative, richly layered novel with an edge.

The framework is complex and detailed, calling upon biblical inspiration and a wealth of lore. Trepagnier exhibits great competence in weaving together these pieces into a believable, well thought out histories for the characters and rules to govern the supernatural world in which they exist. The result is supremely interesting.

The backstories and explanations of “how things work” within the book’s world are revealed through chunks of dialogue that occupy a hefty amount of pages, often at the expense of the plot. The premise of the story was ambitious, and so the amount of backstory and explanation was understandably necessary for reader comprehension. Perhaps if the information was revealed in smaller pieces intermixed with action or events that drove the plot forward, the narrative would have felt more evenly paced instead of hindered by lulls.

Unique, multi-faceted characters are the author’s strength, and Lilth continues this tradition. Here, she works with a wide cast, but the characters remain vivid and distinct. Any of them could thrive in their own spin-off story.

While the main protagonist, Will, was given some interesting traits, I failed to connect with him. The reason for this, I believe, is that he became a victim of genre. Like other paranormal fantasy heroes, Will unlocks powers that strengthen over time, creating a problem that frequently arises when this element is in play - invincibility. Because he’s so powerful, the resolution comes too easily, as any opposition doesn’t really stand a chance. I would have found the ending more engaging if he encountered a bit more resistance. A hitch in the plan. A surprise. A plot twist. Any peril he experience was brief (more of a side effect) and was also quickly resolved.

Despite my issues with it, this book is still worth reading, especially for fans of angels and demons. Though this was not my favorite of her stories, Trepagnier is a true creative talent, and her versatility never fails to impress me.

JB Trepagnier’s “Lilith” is an ambitious reimagining of the story of Adam’s first wife who, as you may or may not know, was not Eve. As we dive into the tale of Will, a sheltered young man who falls in love with a mysterious woman, a complex web of intrigue, passion, and hidden identities are slowly revealed within the fascinating world of demons, angels, cherubs, and Nephilim.

I think we’re all fascinated by the idea of angels, demons, and heaven and hell, and the author makes an extreme effort in world-building here along with in-depth explanations on the inner workings of how power and strength among these beings are maintained and increased.

At times, I was overwhelmed by the exposition, not by the ideas themselves, but the form of the presentation which often came in an unbroken question and answer pattern that went on for many paragraphs. While I enjoyed getting insight into “feeding,” whether on actual blood or simply emotions and/or sex, along with the revelation of Will’s birth and the plans put in motion behind the scenes by immortal beings, I think I would have felt less confused and bombarded by information if it had been broken up differently and revealed more gradually, or even more dramatically, like in actual scenes, instead of simply in conversation.

In the end, though, I was rooting for the sinister machinations of self-absorbed, powerful beings to be thwarted and for Will and Lilith to stay together. We often want Hell to lose when it comes to demons and Lucifer and other negatively-oriented beings, but we forget about the damage angels can also do, if given the chance and motivation, especially fallen ones.

The story was full of colorful characters and several lines made me laugh out loud. One of my favorites was Samuel speaking in a foreign language (a phrase which translated to “she with the beautiful flaming crown”) and Lilith says, “Samuel, no one speaks Enochian anymore,” and Samuel says, “I’m sorry. Do you prefer the ugly languages now? Should I call you the hot redhead with the nice ass?”

Heaven, Hell, and One Heck of a Supernatural Love Story

The author does a great job in “Lilith” by pairing together two people who couldn’t be more different. Will has extricated himself from a domineering mother and is inexperienced, saving himself for marriage, and unsure of himself except for one thing: he is crazy about Lily and wants to marry her. Lily is beautiful, confident, experienced, and most would guess she wouldn’t fall for Will, but there is something… well, different about him. From New York to Turkey to a remote island, we find out what both of them are made of, as each of them feed off each other (literally), blow breaker boxes from the energy unleashed, and grow both personally and as a couple. At first, Lily plays things close to the vest and doesn’t let Will in completely, but gradually, as things are revealed, we find out we are not dealing with a normal couple where it comes down to whose turn it is to take out the garbage. There is a war between heaven and hell brewing, and everything from angels, Nephilim, and demons are on hand to deal with matters, with plenty of plausible backstory that rings true. Throw in an ex of Lily’s, Samael, who was with her for 200 years, an anniversary I can only imagine is celebrated by a gift of kryptonite, and the necessary depth is added to the plot. He’s actually the one to credit for bringing Lily together with someone she doesn’t have to leave; after all, Will can protect Lily once he’s trained. Also on hand are Lily’s offspring, Nate and Zeke, who have angelic blood like Will does and who are extremely close to Lilith and very protective of her, and later, countless other children who are affected by the outcome of the battle between good and evil, and you have a engrossing story well worth one’s time if you like more than a bit of supernatural in your love stories.

I enjoy most types of fantasy and paranormal fiction, but don’t usually read romance or erotica, so I was pleasantly surprised at how engaging this story was.

Will, a shy adult who has led a sheltered life, falls in love with work colleague Lily, who turns out to be Lilith, the first demon. She was originally chosen as Adam’s wife, but rejected him because she refused to be subservient. Then she was married for millennia to Samael, the fallen archangel, by whom she had many children. He ultimately left her and she lived as a free agent for many more centuries before meeting up with Will, whom she recognises as being no ordinary human.

It was interesting to witness the evolution, both physical and emotional, of Will, as he learns to come to terms with his human, angelic and demonic characteristics. Lilith is also a complex fascinating character, struggling to control her demonic side, her feelings for Will and her former lover Samael and motivated by a strong desire to protect her children. My favourite quote was from Lilith’s son Zeke, when he says of his father Samael and Lilith, “You separated two thousand years ago. I’m sure he understands you’ve moved on and remarried.”

The story is well written and the author vividly brings to life the complex characteristics of the many types of angels, demons, and their part human offspring in both action and dialogue. The atmosphere crackles with sexual tension and a strong undercurrent of violence as different factions plot, deceive, conceal and try to manipulate one another. At times, the situation looks as if it cannot come to a satisfactory conclusion, but the ending is well thought out.

An original take on traditional demonic and angelic folklore and a treat for lovers of sizzling paranormal romance.

I must admit, I really did like how the story began.
Will was an interesting character who had a dramatic shift from the sheltered son of a demanding mother to the protective, sexual lover to a demon. Then we find out he isn't exactly what he's always been led to believe.
The problem I had was the overwhelming amount of throat clearing. There was so much repetition that it made it hard for me to focus sometimes.
The love between the two, though very cute in some cases moved way too fast. I wanted the slow burn one might expect in pnr.
I understand this may have been needed to advance the story but I didn't really feel the burn in the love scenes.
I also didn't really feel drawn into the story. It was intriguing and different but I like to feel lik I'm apart of it.
All this being said, I would recommend the book to anyone who likes fast love and intertwining destinies. This book definitely didn't fall short. I would be more than happy to read the next one by rhe author!

A Paranormal Romance about Angels and Demons

This paranormal romance novel begins with lots of intrigue and mystery. Will, an extremely attractive but terribly shy young man, snips his mother’s apron strings and takes a job as a media photographer in New York City, where he meets Lily, a beautiful and mysterious reporter. A tender romance develops between the two, fraught with danger and conflict, as neither is what he/she appears. Lily is actually Lilith, the first demon. And Will is a potent combination of demon/angel/human.

When Will and Lily marry, he is forced to confront her extended demonic dysfunctional family and complex plots involving heaven and hell, Nephilim, Cherubim, Seraphim, and demons, some of which are shape shifters.

A tender love story. Spicy paranormal sex. And a detailed exploration of the lore and attributes of angels and demons, their supernatural weapons and blood feeding, and their struggles for power. Not for the squeamish or faint of heart.

You are sheltered your whole life, finally late in life get a backbone and go out into the world to do what you want, fall in love finally with a beautiful woman only to discover not all is what it seems. This is exactly what happened to Will. He fell in love with Lily, only to discover she was actually Lilith, the first demon. Oh and to top that he is not exactly human himself, he is Nephlim, half angel, half human and his father, who he thought was dead, is now demanding that he joins him. He and Lilith go on the run. She teaches him so much about himself and in turn she learns from him as well. This is truly love unbroken. The hell they have to go through is just unbearable at times. This was a great book all around. The characters, the story line, the battles, wow I could not put it down.

An engrossing read, edgy and exciting, putting a twist on lore and legends we are familiar with.

Set amidst the age-old war between good and evil, you'd think you've read it all so you know who and what Lilith is but his book brings in a nice twist.

Lilith's story is told and she is not the evil demon legends and lore describe her as. Instead she is a fully rounded character with purpose and feelings. I feel her character is much more vibrant than Will's one although as the story progresses, Will finds his edge, experience and maturity.

There are a few subplots in there that really round up the story nicely, so it is not just a soppy love story.

A lot of names (angels and demons) are familiar and the author does a brilliant job of weaving all this into a really entertaining read.

When I saw this book in partnership booksprout I jumped at the opportunity being a fan of this kind of book and Supernatural (the series). I was not disappointed, the writing was fluid, the story captivating, the characters endearing.

It all starts when Will falls in love with a demon Lily Lilith herself, he is not entirely human either: it is a Nephilim the creation of an angel and a human.

Will's life will change when he leaves Texas for New York to become a photographer, he will meet Lily up and it will be love at first sight. He will find himself in a war between heaven and hell.

Look forward to reading other books by this talented author.

I love J.B. Trepagnier’s stories and this one is absolutely fantastic I enjoyed it immensely. Will meets Lily he falls in love with her they get married then Will finds out that his Lily is actually Lilith the first demon but Will has a secret himself he’s a Nephilim. There is a war coming between angels, demons and Nephilim and Will seems to be right in the middle of it. I love these kind of stories with angels and demons this one was just a bit more with blood feedings and the great supernatural weapons but know that angels can do a lot of damage just like the demons. This is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

I've read a bunch of this author's books. Some of her series I like better than others. I put off reading this book, unsure I'd like it. But...wow! I regret my procrastination. I read this one in a day. Un-put-downable.
Her pacing was excellent and there were no sagging parts throughout the entire story.
As to characterization, loved the main character. She was the perfect blend of a strong heroine, intense, and relatable. The secondary characters were perfect complements or foils to the main character.

Will and Lilith have a love story unlike any other. The first portion of the story is the start to a romance between the sheltered Will and the worldly Lilith, but as the story proceeds we quickly find out there’s much more than meets the eye. I absolutely loved this telling of Lilith and the reasoning behind the impending battle between heaven and hell. I found it really unique how the action and mythology blended so smoothly with the romance without one overpowering the other. I don’t think you can go wrong with this highly imaginative story.

Lilly isn't just a hot journalist working with Will. Will had grown up home-schooled, shy, and trained to be a pharmacist - closeted by his mother. Told he was something special.

Turns out he was. And he was more than merely human

The forces of Heaven and Hell and their various ranks of Angels, Nephilim, Succubi, Incubi, and so forth will be forever changed and transformed because of a singular love of an unique couple and because of their various special gifts.

Bizarre, steamy and amazing!

This was an interesting read. It started out slow but once Will left his small Kansas town for the bright lights of the city it started to pick up. When he met Lilly "Lilith" his life changed. Lilith showed Will.j qho je really was. The rest of the story flew by as Will discovers his powers and what he can do. Lillith explains how he came about explaining the biblicaand side of things. This novel was a nice mix of paranormal, normalcy, and biblical background. Well worth the read.

A captivating, creative, complex novel by JB Trepagnier starts off as a light romance but soon evolves into a supernatural thriller that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.
I like how the Author has interwoven biblical elements into this love story.
Well written, with a fascinating plot and storyline it includes a supernatural world that has been created with its own definitions and rules.
Characters are very well thought out, vivid, well defined, and well developed, each with their own quirks and foibles.
It is an interesting book to read. The Author once again does not disappoint.

Such a complex paranormal story with many twists and turns that kept my attention from the first page to the last. It is a love story, but it is also so much more. The plot delves in the supernatural world. This was what made the story so interesting to me as this isn't my typical style of book to read. I'm so glad I read this. I definitely will read more from this author in the future.

I really enjoyed this take on Lilith's story, and loved that it tied in with the Fortuna Academy series, it had plenty of plot twists that had me hooked from the start. Lilith and Will were incredibly sweet together, and I was shocked to find out who had been manipulating the Angels. Great narration from Matthias, I look forward to hearing more from both the author and narrator, I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

When Will breaks his mother's apron strings, he takes a job as a photographer for a local newspaper. Quiet, unassuming, and lacking self-confidence, he's had little experience with women. Enter Lily, a gorgeous red-haired reporter who changes everything. Their bond is strong, but is it enough to survive the war of the angels?

Very interesting story with inventive conclusion. All demons, angels and existing children of those give huge diversity in characters. Plot was unique even if momentarily felt stitched together. I did enjoy reading it.
