There’s a price for fame and I’m sick of paying it. Fake women and fake relationships. I’m done, especially with my celebrity ex. I’m stuck with her in this cramped little town. A ‘business’ trip gone wrong. Until I meet Aurora. The one woman I shouldn't be with. The best mistake I ever made. If the press finds out, if my ex finds out, both our futures will be crushed.
This is an 80k word full-length novel with a happily ever after.
Emily Bishop is a breakthrough romance writer from Seattle, Washington. She originally attended University of Washington as a history student but soon found a passion for words and stories. Upon graduating with a degree in creative writing, Emily fell in love and moved away from the hustle and bustle of the city to a quiet little town in Oregon.
She is now a full time writer who loves her job. She enjoys bad horror flicks, hair pulling, lemon pound cake, and spending time with her husband, Charlie, and her dog, Roscoe.
Famous by Emily Bishop a five star-read that will have bulbs a flashing. This was my favourite of all of Emily’s story’s Jarryd Tombs was a man I would readily lust after and also fall a little bit more in love with every day. As a character he was someone I immediately liked, he was stuck in a place he couldn’t seem to get out of. All he needed was a little push, maybe his friend Luke will be the one to push, but who will catch him? Aurora Bell is one woman who could be there to catch him if she allows herself to, the trouble is that Moondance hasn’t always been kind to her and Aurora needs a helping hand herself and life with a movie star wouldn’t always be helpful for her. This was a story full of intrigue and passion with some sorry thrown in to keep it real. This story will have you hooked from the first to the last page. Thank you Emily for an amazing story.
Emily Bishop has written a fast-paced, steamy and suspenseful small town romance story with plenty of drama, betrayal, secrets, scandal, explosive chemistry, and a HEA.

Jarryd is a hot actor in Hollywood and he has come to Moondance to scout the area to film his next movie in. Aurora grow up in Moondance and its where she spent the last time with her mother before she passed away. She moved back so she could save up and buy the cabin they had lived in. One evening Jarryd came into her tent for a tarot reading and instantly became drawn to her. They start to hang out even though Aurora knew it was a bad idea. Just when it seemed like things are going well reality intrudes and Aurora falls back into how people called her names and treated her badly. Jarryd loved the time he spent with Aurora even though some problems cropped up because of it especially with his ex girlfriend Felicity. Felicity was one of the people that always treated Aurora badly and being an adult changed nothing but make her nastier. When news leaked that Jarryd supposedly cheated on Felicity with Aurora came out the backlash was awful even though it was completely false. He had broken up with Felicity long before coming to Moondance. Can Jarryd convince Aurora they can make a go of it together? Can Aurora move past what others think about her being with Jarryd and just be happy?
This was a great story. I love all the books I've read by Emily Bishop is this one is no exception. The chemistry between Jarryd and Aurora is off the charts. If you haven't read anything by this author I would definitely give this book a chance.
What do you get when you mix Aurora the fortune teller who has recently come back home with secrets and a dark past with Jarryd the Actor who is scouting a place to film the movie he is producing whose life is always in the spotlight, wants nothing more than freedom and is pondering all the choices he's making? A super sexy small-town romance, with a keep you reading suspense!
Emily Bishop created something unique here! I loved this whole storyline! So much detail, with some pretty impressive characters! ( except for well you know. ) Going along with Jarryd and Aurora on their journey of discovery, acceptance, and love was a helluva ride to watch unfold! The connection between them was pure magic! I highly suggest taking the chance and going to the small town of Moondance, WY Aurora and Jarryd's story is worth it!
If you like small town romance this is a great story! When Jarryd comes to Moondance he is in a funk his fiancé was cheating on him and he is stuck in this little town trying to make it work for his movie at the suggestion of his ex fiancé. At the insistence of his friend they go to to the fairgrounds where he decides to have his tarot cards read and he meets Aurora the gypsy who makes him forget about his funk. Aurora has had a hard life and meeting the man of her dreams is going to derail hers of a life in Moondance the town and the house that gave her the best memories. There are mysterious people, some really annoying ex’s and hope that somehow they will get through all of this. Great read kept you on your toes.
Fate is a funny mistress. She makes her own rules. And her timetable is a mystery to us mere mortals.
I’ve heard that timing is everything. Well, in this case, is everybody in the wrong place at the right time? Or is everybody in the right place at the wrong time? Or maybe all of the wrong people-- I know. I’ll shut up.
It is obvious from the beginning that Jaryd and Aurora are meant to be. And maybe timing is overrated when Fate deals the cards. And all these other people, like her ex, and his ex and all the hangers-on and posers-- And the haters. Don’t forget them… Maybe they should just go away.
This book made me laugh. It made me cry. And it made me mad. But in the end, it made me smile. Bottom line: 5 stars.
I received a copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
An emotional rollercoaster of a romance! 💜
Sometimes the universe just has plans for us, whether we want them or not. This is one of those stories. Aurora has lost everything that really matters to her and yet she is totally focused on regaining the one thing. She is so laser focused on getting this house back that she is willing to ignore the possibility that it's not the only thing she needs. That when fate throws Jarryd into her life. The raw emotions and passion between these two is sizzling. The story is really well developed and the characters will pull you in and take you for an emotional ride. 💗
I read this book fast. The story was good and the characters were easy to fall in love with or to dislike. Jarryd and Aurora are meant to be together and things go from bad to worse before Jarryd realizes that he is in love with Aurora and she us his life. Another good book by Emily Bishop.
This book is a suspenseful fast paced Romance about Aurora and Jarryd in a small town secret Romance that’s scandalous. It was a very good read! 💋 I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Could have liked the 1st book if the heroine wasn’t a cringe worthy coward...
Could have liked the 1st book if the heroine wasn’t a cringe worthy coward... The story started off good but kinda odd at the same time, personally I try not to be picky about every little detail like when the guy one the cover doesn’t match the description in the book, ( the guy on the cover, looks a least 1/2 African-American Soo from him I was expecting a description of the heroine, for this to be a a white woman/black man romance) but Jarryd just had a good tan w/ auburn and blue eyes, a little thing I know but later that misconception gave way to others I felt... Deep sigh... Jarryd is almost constantly telling us, how “strong” and how “ free” he thinks Aurora is, but honestly ? It’s more like yeah, No! I wanted to like Aurora and at 1st I did , she was sweet and kinds and she seemed very intelligent, I say seemed because ,what’s soo intelligent about moving back to a town that has more bad memories than good, the town where your mother was killed ( possible spoiler alert 🚨) more should have been said about that, Mom’s death seemed a bit suspicious) Anyway, moving to a town where you know most are narrowed, and bigoted towards you and your chosen occupation as a fortune 🔮 teller, you have no other way to support yourself and no close friends or family ... As bad as that was I was willingly to just suspend reality, overlook things how when someone storms out Jarred’s motel room and “slaps” the door shut instead of slamming it , ( some weird door ?) and the bear constant crying at times, ok, some the stuff that happened , well lots of it would have had me on edge and crying at times as well but,but what pushed me too far , was the stubborn bs attitude she had, even when ppl she trusted gave her what she KNEW was good advice she was still bound and determined to do what she wanted, telling herself she was right even when she KNEW she was wrong... Aurora spends the story either jump)mg to the wrong conclusions about Jarryd or just simply running away or both ... Over half the time he hadn’t even done anything wrong but he still chased after her to explain and apologize.... The situation wasn’t easy, no , I get that but if she’d been willing to stop and listen and get a clue I could have respected her, but she wouldn’t she didn’t want the bother then she didn’t to bring him down... I’m sorry but I’m not into martyrs, “O, no we can’t be together, it’s not fair to you, I must run away and hide.” BS Shouldn’t the poor idiot who loves you get a choice ? The idiot who’s lied to himself about how strong and free you are and been chasing after you ? No , no,, that’s right make his chase your dumb butt til the very end of the story when he tells you he loves you about the third time now and finally give in.... Honestly Aurora was acting like a rebellious teen at the end and I just wanted to smack her and walk away, I think Jarryd should have... And Jarryd, I lost respect for him as well y the end of the story, one minute he’s some kinda pseudo alpha in the bedroom, and he’s kinda sexy, and then talking claiming and taking and making her his ( which was kinda hot, even though he’s not a vampire or a shifter or something claiming his mate) then he’d ruin it by turning around and chase after her w/his tail between his legs apologizing again even when he had done something wrong,,he was a good guy but he ended up looking whipped and a bit of a wuss from the very beginning and by the end it was very painful to watch... I might read another story but I’m not holding out much hope...
Aurora has been alone since her Mum died in Moondance years ago. She dropped out of high school and travelled to earn a living as a fortune teller but she's now back as she wants to buy the cabin that she and her mum had lived happily for two years and it's up for sale. At the same time, the handsome and successful Hollywood actor, Jarryd and his friend, and partner, Luke are there looking for locations to shoot a film that they have written. Jarryd has dumped his cheating and lying fiancée , Felicity a fellow actor, and it's here one night that he meets Aurora. When they meet the air practically sizzles with the chemistry between them and when they touch hands they both are shocked into awareness of one another. They spend a passionate night together that was beyond their wildest dreams or expectations. They are both attracted to one another in ways that they have never felt before and her reading that she gave him was very pertinent to his life at that moment. When she finds out who is ex was, Aurora gets upset and asks him to leave as Felicity is from Moondance and bullied Aurora whenever she could. An ex of Aurora's makes his presence felt to her disgust and Jarryd is very jealous whilst Felicity who turns up is desperately trying to get back with Jarryd but she disgusts him! And this is just the start of the story. It is so well written by Emily Bishop with fascinating characters, a great storyline and fortune telling that suggests that a major change is going to happen but, with trust, love will win! I loved when Auroa took him to her secret place that he just made up a picnic hamper but was in an expensive Armani suit to trample through the woods to get there and not wearing sensible shoes either. But it didn't bother Jarryd, as the only thing that mattered to him was that he was with Aurora! The ending of this book is very special and well worth the reading time. If you can get a copy, read The Prequel first! [I did] I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED.
Jarryd and Luke are in Moondance, WY to scout a location for their upcoming movie. They want to look around and get a feel for the place in a "down low" way. That's a little difficult with Luke driving a red Porsche and Jarryd in his designer suits!
First night in town Jarryd has had a bit too much to drink when he decides to visit the local fairgrounds. He wanders around only to end up in Mistress Mystery's tent. She is a tarot card reader. Needless to say, his Tarot reading is interesting in many ways, but his attraction to the beautiful woman is magical.
There is so much going on in this story that will keep the reader engaged from cover-to-cover. Things like mystery, lust, bitter ex's, money issues, and not to mention everyone privy to your personal information as well as some childish interaction with former classmates. If you miss something, not to worry, the pap's will film it and blow it out of proportion.
The characters have trust issues and as a result, they are both guarded and vulnerable. Will life presents them with an opportunity to elevate themselves in the midst of mystery, magic and Moondance? Let's hope so because you will really like them.
I received a reader copy of this book and I would not hesitate recommending this book to other readers. The writer has a unique ability to tell a beautiful story filled with flawed individuals. Real people...real problems and promise for great possibilities. Wonderful job.
Jarryd Tombs is a famous scouting locations for his current movie while dealing with heartbreak. Aurora is just a girl returning to the place her and her mom ever considered home even though around every corner she is judged at every turn. Jarryd shows up one night in her tent and she gives him his fortune but from the beginning the chemistry was sizzling between them. Jarryd realizes that Aurora is just the kind of woman that he needs in his life. She's free spirit and honest. While Jarryd gives her the love and understanding she had only receive from one person before she died. Thanks to Aurora, Jarryd is able to think about want he wants just not out of life but his work as well. There are many obstacles in the way. Mostly Jarryd's commitments and Aurora thinking that someone like her would only ruin his. If they both look deep in their hearts and forget everyone they may be on the way to getting everything that they have every longed for.
3.5 stars It has more potential. There were a good amount of things which make this special. Only it couldn't draw me in. It took me so much time to read this. Normally I could easily read this length in a day or two. First of all I didn't find the love connection and the passion between Jarryd & Aurora convincing. They barely knew each other and barely talked at all so I find it hard to believe that not only romantic feelings develop but they fall in love. I think that's the main reason it was so hard for me to get into this story. It definitely is the main issue I had with this book. I wouldn't go beyond 3.5 stars due to the couple's lack of connection. I read an ARC and before that the prequel. I'd recommend to get the prequel and start with that one. It is a nice addition and a good introduction of the main characters. However it's not necessary to read in that order or to read the prequel at all.
Wow! I loved this book! This is the first book I have read by Emily Bishop and for me she started off with a bang! I will definitely be reading her work in the future. It was so emotionally powerful and deep that there just aren't words. But, gotta try ;). The two main characters really were perfect. A great balance of confidence and insecurity, strength and weakness. And the passion between them was unbelievable. I truly was able to feel their emotions through the pages. And that ending?!? Whew! Just loved it. A book that is NOT to be passed up! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Hero, Jarryd = 5/5 Heroine, Aurora = 5/5 Chemistry = 5/5 Sex = 5/5 Plot = 4/5 Mystery = 2/5 Action = 1/5 Darkness = 3/5 Humor = 2/5 POV = dual Would I recommend this book = yes Would I re-read this book = yes Would I read future books by this author = yes
This book has everything, drama, hotness, humor and mystery, and so many secrets and lies. Yup this one is pretty packed with emotions, and it's pretty unique, A hot famous star and a fortune teller, yes this book has interesting plot. There's something a bit weird for me and I felt a bit drag at the beginning and a bit rushed at the end, I still enjoying it though, it's a fun romance read with mystery in it.
As for characters, I like Jarryd and Aurora, they're so different but so perfect for each other, opposite do attract. Their attraction is sizzling and sweet. Love how their relationship grow.
If you're looking for unique sweet romance read with suspense, this one is for you.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I have to tell you I was a little worried that i wasn’t going to like it because of what she did for a living. Don’t get me wrong there is absolutely nothing wrong with her being a fortune teller I just don’t believe in it, but I have to tell you that I really enjoyed the story, her struggles and how she dealt with life in general. I love love how they meet and how he really care for Aurora and his interaction with mistress. I despise Felicity (the ex) what a horrible girl, (wanted to say a different word but I’m sure you get what I want/meant to say) and James OMG another horrible person anyways I really love this story thank you for giving me the opportunity to read another one of your stories.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Aurora and Jarryd. Jarryd is looking for something different then his what has been happening in his life. Aurora is also looking to change her life and thinks being with Jarryd will change her in ways she doesn't want. Can these two find someone they never knew they were looking for or will this hurt them in more ways than they know?
This is an amazing book full of ups and downs that will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. There is so much I want to tell you about this book but don't want to ruin it for anyone else. I will say I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
After losing everything that was important to her, Aurora has been working hard to regain her reputation and a normal life. She lost her Mom and her home. Then Jarryd arrives in her town to film a movie. He's gorgeous and he's famous but is the last thing she needs in her life right now. Their attraction and chemistry is explosive. They try to keep their relationship secret which is impossible in a small town. Lots of drama, secrets, betrayal and surprises as they work their way to an HEA. I read an advance copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Aurora is a fortune teller, and when Jarryd is in a small town, scouting for a new location for his screenplay, the two of them meet. The chemistry between these two is off the charts, but will they be able to keep their relationship together, and overcome the obstacles in their path? This is a well written and gripping plot, which had me hooked and intrigued throughout. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all readers, as this extremely talented author never disappoints her readers! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book!

4.5 Stars!! There is Aurora, who grew up going from town to town with her Mom. Then there is Jarryd who is a gorgeous & famous actor, director and screenwriter. He is out scouting for movie locations and ends up in a small town where Aurora is at the local fairgrounds working as a fortune teller. When their path's cross it was an immediate spark between them but can they be together? Would the scandal be worth it. This book gets you at the beginning and keeps you reading. Enjoy.
I voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book.
A great small town romance. It all started with a reading of the Tarro Cards and ends with true love. Jarryd is looking for a location for his next movie and runs into the beautiful Aurora, who reads his future in the cards. But there are more questions than answers as the pair have instant chemistry. But will the paparazzi push them apart or will Jarryd’s ex and costar of the film spread vicious lies and throw a wrench in not only Aurora and Jarryds relationship but the movie too? With great characters and a unique storyline this book should not be missed.
Loved this small town romance! Jarryd wasn't expecting to meet anyone like Aurora. She's mysterious and different from other women he's known, including his ex. Aurora isn't looking for any complications to her life. She only wants to continue working as a fortune teller and moving on after the death of her mother. Neither of them thought they'd find someone like each other, Are they ready to take that chance and jump off the train ride? I found this to be a charming and sexy read, and the characters were well written. This story evoked emotions and was so entertaining!
Jarryd has had it rough lately with a cheating girlfriend and now trying to get his job straight. Aurora has never had a place to call home and her profession doesn't help any. Fate has plans for them, but both are stubborn. Will Jarryd be able to have his dream? Will Aurora be able to finally have a place to call home?
This was a cute and steamy read. I thought that even thought Aurora was scared, she showed strength. Loved how Jarryd was determined in the end to do what it took to keep her. Great read!

I really enjoyed the basic premise. Big time actor runs smack dab into his small town destiny. Small town girl gets by flying under the radar. They carry their own baggage, they have reputations that precede them. Life just keeps raining on their parade. I would have enjoyed it more if they had been able to keep their hands to them selves. A little more story, a little less hanky panky The story was good on it's own. Didn't need the extra "stuff". Just my thoughts. I would still recommend this book. I was asked to read this book. I am giving my honest opinion.
A sweet and warm story that makes you happy. Jarryd and Aurora are the couple that is less likely to happen. He’s a famous actor and movie writer from the big city. She’s a small town girl, a fortuneteller who’s been on the road since her mother died. But...they click. The interaction between them are special, as well as the other characters in the book. It’s well written and the description of the surroundings almost make you feel line you are there. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Aurora is a tarot card reader that has returned to town to settle down. Once the two meet the attraction is instantaneous but they need to deal with jealous and obsessive exes, nosy paparazzi and media before they find their happily ever after.
