Luke Martelli had one thing going for him: he knew racecars. But he didn’t get his thrills behind the wheel. Drivers wanted speed and handling, and he could make that happen. He’d been hours away from working his dream job with a pit crew when a freak accident took that chance away.
Now he works a crap job as a parade float builder in Brooklyn. Then Ellison Carlisle, a rich girl from Kentucky, has the nerve to tell him to accept his fate. What does she know about pain? But damn, she’s got the curves to match her smart mouth, and that's a mouth he’s having a hard time resisting.
For Ellie, moving to Brooklyn was supposed to be a fresh start. She’s homesick, but getting away from painful memories in Lexington is worth the change. Until she meets Luke, the hotheaded city boy who’s entirely too sexy for his attitude.
Her track record for boyfriends is 0 for 3. Is it worth the risk to try to break that big chip on Luke’s shoulder, or is he another lost cause?

Luciano "Luke" Martelli loved everything about cars, most specifically race cars. Too bad he couldn't continue fixing and tinkering these beauties since he had a freaky accident that injured his knee. Instead, he designed and built parade floats and worked under his father. He felt so bad about his job, looked down at it as if it's the worst job in the work, and he couldn't wait to get away from it all.
Ellison Carlisle moved to New York with her friend Lena after she graduated from Kentucky with flying colors. She resolved to make a name of her own and stand on her own feet. A girl with zest and positive attitude, Ellie loved being in Brooklyn and party planning. She couldn't believe her luck when she immediately landed a job and was offered another one at the city office where she'd get to work with parade floats builder, Luke. The one guy her friend had warned her to stay away from.
Luke and Ellie belonged to two different backgrounds, different family upbringing and both have distinct opposite qualities that initially got them in the wrong foot. Yes, they also ere attracted to each other but what I loved was how their relationship bloomed and grew with maturity and essence. That in itself was already a great romance factor for me. The decision that they needed to come up with wasn't an easy choice to make, and I loved how the two of them handled it. Luke may have annoyed me at first with his foul mouth, but as the story progressed, he was so cute and lovable, he really drove me crazy! Both main characters were lucky to have found each other.
I love this premise to City Meets Country series. Mysti Parker and Post wrote a beautiful story about diversity, relationship and family that tugged at my heartstrings. Can't wait to read High on You!

Received an ARC at no cost to author..I enjoyed book country meet city. Luke was attracted Ellie but didn't think he would be the man that she needs. Ellie is attracted to Luke, and was warned off him, but she gave herself a chance and I am glad that she did..I do not want to tell you story so that you read it, you will not be disappointed my friends.. Enjoy!
Just having graduated with a degree, country girl Ellison Carlisle is ready to give life in the big city a try when her college roommate convinces her to get a job in New York CIty. She feels ready to take on anything, except maybe Luke Martelli . . . he’s a bad boy that she knows won’t be good for her. so why can’t she get him out of her mind?
Luke Martelli loved working on fast cars. His dream of working on a pit crew for race cars was gone in the blink of an eye when a freak injury ruined his knee making him too slow to keep up in the fast paced pit. Now he’s got a carp job as a float builder for the city and a hot headed attitude with temper to match that pushes everyone away, including the sexy new country girl whose new job has them crossing paths more than he would like since he’s definitely interested in her gorgeous curves and smart talking mouth.
When they finally decide to give dating a try,, will they find out if they have more in common than just their explosive chemistry, or will their opposite backgrounds leave them with nothing in common?
Drive Me Crazy was the first book I have read by Mysti Parker or MJ Post. It had a cute opposites attract plotline with characters that had more in common than they ever could have realized. Luke, really has a chip on his shoulder. Underneath he is a nice guy, but growing up in a macho Italian family leaves him feeling less than successful with his knee injury. Ellie is sweet and intelligent, yet has been burned by relationships in the past which has her being very cautious where Luke is concerned. These characters are a great match together, and it was fun watching them open up to one another as they explored their relationship.
I did find the plot a bit slow to start and it took me a bit to get into the storyline. I found myself getting caught up in the explanations of the Italian phrases used by Luke which slowed down the flow of the story for me. However, I am really glad I stuck with the book because the ending had much more depth than I expected and I found myself really rooting for this couple to both find their dream jobs and their happy ever after together. 4 stars.
This is a very sweet story about Luke and Ellie. He is struggling to come to terms with not being able to pursue the career he wants and she is just starting on the path of her chosen career. Both are good characters and the story is ok and started really promising. I instantly warmed to them and their supporting friends, however, the insta love thing for me just doesn't do it.... insta lust yes but love no don't think so. They met twice then suddenly declaring undying love. The story was a bit thin and kind of brushed over what were very serious issues for both characters. I felt it was just a bit lacking..... Having said that there were bits that were really great. With some nice bits of humour. When there was dialogue it was great. Very frustrating!!! I would like to continue with the series. This is a quick read with not much depth but still entertaining. I received a free arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Drive Me Crazy by Mysti Parker is book 1 in the new “City Meets Country” series. If this book is Ms. Parker's sample of what is to come we readers are in for a real treat because book one is a real winner. This novel is about Brooklyn born Luciano (Luke) Martelli and Ellison (Ellie) Carlisle from Lexington Kentucky. While you might say that there first meeting was a little rocky it didn't stay that way. The chemistry between Luke and Ellie was off the walls. Yet there was a major stumbling block in their path to true happiness. Ellie's career is in New York City and Luke new job offer (Race Track Manager) is in the Poconos in Pennsylvania. How they manage to solve the dilemma of a long distance relationship makes for a very intriguing story-line. Ms. Parker has done a great job with her new novel and It is a fun book to read and enjoy.
I received this advanced copy and I am freely posting this fair and balanced review.
Ellie Carlisle comes to NY to work as a party planner after graduating college in Kentucky. Luke Martelli is born and raised in Brooklyn in an Italian family. Luke makes parade floats after a devastating accident damaging his knee so badly that he can no longer follow his dreams of being part of a race pit crew.
Ellie and Luke meet at a bar and their initial meeting was not exactly love at first sight. When Ellie also starts working for the city, the two spend quite a bit of time together. Their need for each other is evident and they connect like it was meant to be. When Luke gets a job as a Race Track Manager in the Poconos, the two must figure out how to make their own HEA.
This was a fun read and I’m looking forward to the next books in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
An enjoyable quick story about a man struggling with the loss of his dreams due to a freak accident that gimped his knee. Luke works as a parade float builder which he is good at, and is very focused on doing a good job, however, receives much teasing about his "girly" job and lots of backhand comments about his job, creating shame and dislike of his job. Ellie is new to NYC and reluctant to start a new relationship after some crappy luck at love in the past. I found the beginning of the story a little bumpy as there were a lot of stereotypical cliche's being used, but I found that it decreased as the book went on. Overall, the romance was sweet as both H&h learn to trust again. *I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
I am voluntarily reviewing a copy of this book that I received for free.
Ellie, a recent college graduate and event planner, moves to Brooklyn with her college roommate Lena, a Brooklyn native. Her first night on the town she sees Luke, a city parade float builder, and can't get him out of her mind. A few chance meetings here and there lead to further questions and dilemmas. As the story progresses they both decide to throw caution to the wind and see where a relationship will take them. Quite a few turns later they come to a crossroads. A twist forces a decision to be made. Dive Me Crazy is a wonderful start to a new series, I can;t wait for the next book.
Drive Me Crazy is a great first book in the new City Meets Country series by Mysti Parker and MJ Post. This is a fairly quick read that is engaging from the beginning. The story is well written and I love the characters. I love that Luke and Ellie are sexy AF while still having (what they perceive to be) physical flaws. Their relationship is sweet and intense and sexy all at once without seeming clichéd. I have no problem recommending Drive Me Crazy and am looking forward to the next book in the series. I received this book as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Country girl Ellie goes to the Big Apple for her first job after graduating from college. Luke is a native New Yorker. Though they come from totally different backgrounds, they actually have a lot in common. They both take pride in their work, they are fiercely loyal to their friends, and they have both suffered, physically as well as emotionally. The attraction between them is immediate and powerful, but they have a lot to overcome before they can reach their happily-ever-after. I enjoyed reading about their journey, and recommend it highly.
Mystic Parker and MJ Post are a dynamic writing team. The storyline between Luke and Ellie offered the reader a chance to see two people who struggle with parts of their past. And yet they seem to be drawn to each other and with a little drama and some suspense these two still manage to get their HEA! Looking forward to reading more from this series
I received an ARC edition of this book in return for an honest review.
The best kind of love will drive you crazy! Ellie moves to Brooklyn with her best friend from college, looking for a fresh start. Luke is still trying to figure out how to move beyond a career-changing injury. Together, these two shore up each other's emotional weak spots and discover their strength by sharing their experiences.
It's a beautifully sweet love story as well as a slice-of-life look at living in Brooklyn. Sometimes raw and gritty, this story is instantly captivating and includes some wonderful secondary characters. The HEA was nicely done, with a realistic solution to a common real-life problem. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is a quick, steamy romance with lots of chemistry and very little drama. The hero and heroine - Ellie and Luke - are deep, funny, witty and a little bit broken. It is an engaging page turner that is the perfect read for anyone who wants something good to read. I highly recommend this book, you will not be sorry. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I received this book through ARC but I'm voluntarily leaving this review. I really enjoyed this story. It was very uplifting. It tells a love, strength and endurance. It demonstrates how love can conquer all.
This is was a nice quick read. I enjoyed both the characters. It was nice and not surprising that Luke wasn't as bad as everyone made him out to be. I'm glad that he and Ellie had each other. They deserved to be together.
Drive Me Crazy is the first book in the newest series written by author Mysti Parker, City Meets Country. Luke and Ellie's story is sweet. Thanks to the author for the advance copy.
Ellie and Luke's love story. Luke a lost man after an accident ripped his dreams away. Ellie a college graduate with dreams of making it in the city. Deep down Luke knows that Ellie has potential to be the one but is to jagged to do anything about it. They finally end up together and the realize they are both damaged in their own way but handled the situations differently. A few bumps in the road bring them together in the end.
I read this book as part of an arc program. I really enjoyed this story about Ellie, a young college grad who moves to New York with her best friend Lena. Ellie starts a job at a party planning company and is offered a job planning parades for the city. When Ellie meets Luke, she is attracted to him but is warned by Lena that Luke has anger issues and when he dated a friend he was a jerk to her. Ellie decided to give Luke a chance and agrees to a date with him. Luke had a promising career designing race cars until an accident caused him to give up his dream of working in a pit crew due to his injury. Luke had a lot of anger issues and he knew if he wanted to be with Ellie, he had to try to be better. Luke was attracted to Ellie from the first moment he saw her, but he didn't think he could be man enough to take care of her because he worked designing and building parade floats. Luke's family were always putting him down and making him think he wasn't good enough and that his job was a joke. I really liked how Luke really wanted to be better and I loved how Ellie gave Luke a chance. They made a great couple and it made for a great book.
Drive me Crazy is my second read from Mysti Parker and first in the series of City Meets Country, in this country girl Ellie meets City boy Luke. Ellie a event planner moves to Brooklyn with her friend after her graduation where she meets Luke and they get instantly attracted. From there, their love life starts, their road to destiny is filled with pits, obstacles, twist and turns but finally they get were they need to be. I loved and enjoyed this book, which I received as an ARC and reviewed voluntarily.
I love Mysti Parker's books! She tells stories of 'real' people - flaws and all - with an injection of humor, and this book is no exception. Ms Parker's books are easy to read and easy to love. Her characters come to life on the pages.
This was an enjoyable read with some unexpected bits of depth. Both characters have physical challenges, but they have dealt with their challenges in different ways. This adds the depth, but they don't get all angsty about it. The best part of the story is Luke. He has been a real jerk in the past, but he is trying to be better. His character arc drives a lot of the plot. I enjoyed the Brooklyn vs. Kentucky humor. I'm a Southern girl, so I found the Brooklyn bits fairly exotic. Ellie and Luke have very funny exchanges, and I laughed several times. The writing is pretty good, but there were a few places where I got a little confused about where someone was in the scene. Characters seem to jump across the room. The dialogue is very good, though, and that is more important to me. Overall, I enjoyed this. It kept me reading even when I should have been doing other things. I will definitely be reading more in this series because I want to see more of the side characters, especially Lena. I voluntarily read an ARC and have written my honest opinion.
First in a 4 book series. Each main character is written by one of the authors. The POV is clear and not confusing. Both leads are 20 somethings trying to get a good start in life. Each has their own failings and strengths. Very engaging. Oh, and it's not a 'clean' romance, so know that diving in. I can't wait to read the rest in the series and see how they books relate to each other. Hell, I'd like to read more about these two and their story.
I received an ARC copy of this book and I give my honest review. This story was so delightful. It showed that love comes in all forms. Whether it be rough around the edges or smooth as silk. This story was enlightening because the two characters shared the same doubts, feelings; and love thoughts and was pretty much in sync with each other from beginning to end. A VERY MUST READ
I love this book by Mysti Parker and M.J. Post! I'm not familiar with Post but I absolutly love Parker's work, so I figured why not give it a shot? Boy am I glad I did! Luke and Ellie are amazing! I can't wait for more of this kick a$$ series!
I just loved Ellie and Luke! Both have their insecurities, yet they push and work through them when they needed to. I was absolutely pulled right into this story and can't wait for the next one!!
Mysti Parker does not write vanilla. This tale includes a cast of larger than life characters straight out of The Sopranos but (mostly) without the violence. Add to the Brooklyn-Italian mix one quiet and refined southern girl. But as you get to know her you will be quite impressed with how she handles not just her present circumstances but the grace with which she's dealt with some of the major incidents in her past. And not just bad boyfriends! And all this within the context of the author's signature sense of humor. Disclaimer: I was given a copy of this book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Can it get better than this? Why yes! This is now out in AUDIO and narrators Dana Dae and Brad Hackworth do a fabulous job of bringing the novel to life!
