I See A New Prophetic Generation

Rate this book
The greatest days of the prophetic movement are right around the corner! They will be full of an exposing of that which is counterfeit, carnal, and self-serving and a release of a new prophetic generation who have been hidden, consecrated, and forged in the fire for such a time as this.

God is calling His prophetic voices back to the place of intimacy and intercession, character transformation and embracing every aspect of His character and nature, and radical accountability that produces healthy relationship with church leadership. It is only through responding to this urgent invitation that necessary change will come to the prophetic ministry.

Summary
In this book Jeremiah Johnson continues his prophetic cry against the failing state of the commercialized Charismatic movement. IN many ways this is a warning left unheard as the events of 2020 showed us. The book is essentially a long prophetic rant against the abuses of the prophetic ministry and a clarion call for greater holiness among believers. It has the regular hallmarks of a book like this such as advocating for transformation of character and resisting the Simon the Sorcerers found in the contemporary church along with the continual Charismatic cry for the coming great revival that will eventually come. Yet reading Johnson’s work you can discern a conflict between his general frustration which is in opposition with his optimism for something better for the Charismatic church and the prophetic movement in particular (in hindsight I think I was right to be worried and frustrated).

Personal Thoughts
The majority of my complaints have less to do with the content of the book and more to do with its presentation. The paperback I purchased is obviously an Amazon print on demand book, which is fine, as I have my own books running through KDP. What is inexcusable is the poor typesetting and formatting. The book is advertised at over 200 pages but those pages are 2.5-3.0 spaced meaning that there is just as much white space as there is text, if it would have been formatted properly this book would’ve barely been 100 pages, a frustration since the book cost me around C$20.00. Much of the information is not new and in my option was better presented in Johnson’s other book which he coauthored with R. Loren Sanford, the Micaiah Company (which I highly recommend). On a personal level I may be a bit jaded as I’ve grown weary of the revival hype train that has been happening in that part of the church for the past 20 years and instead I just want to see more authentic believers living as they should with God and not just wishing that one day God will just flip a switch over North America like he did with the Heberden revival. Perhaps if those who read this book took Johnson’s pleas for holiness and loving relationship with God seriously then we wouldn’t need a sudden revival that has already made countless people rich for talking about.

Key Takeaway
Save your money and buy “The Micaiah Company: A Prophetic Reformation” by Jeremiah Johnson and R. Loren Sanford instead.

Wisdom needed for this generation

This book is filled with truth and wisdom in an age when it is severely lacking. Truth and wisdom poured out from the Father's heart.

I read this book after reading 'Cleansing and Igniting the Prophetic' which I highly recommend. I humbly seek more guidance in the prophetic. This book most certainly provided that. It affirmed many things as well as helped provide course correction for me. Jeremiah Johnson provided prayer points for myself first and foremost to ensure my quiver is full as I move in the prophetic. Prayer points for the prophetic in general. I recommend anyone reading this to do so prayerfully so you may do so with humility.

This book is full of insights. Full of areas to avoid or pull out of. Especially in a day and age full of Simon the Sorcerers. Jeremiah Johnson is full of humility and meekness. I pray that anyone who either wishes to or moves in the prophetic reads it.

A Book and Vision to help Launch a New Prophetic Generation

Jeremiah Johnson’s vision written in this book will become a blueprint for a new prophetic generation. There is no other prophetic writer today that links the Obadiah Hidden Prophets with the bride of Jesus. As the author so eloquently states “As the new prophetic generation, we are not called to release what people love, but rather what honors and pleases the Father”. “These new sons and daughters will minister from the Throne Room of God rather than prostitute their gifts in a showroom called “church”.

I have never read a more profound book that turns the current prophetic movement upside down, and will shake it to its very core.

See you later, if you can find me. I’ll be hiding in my cave until the appointed time.

God's real message for the last days generation prophets

I thank God Almighty for giving His words not just to a prophet who hears Him but to a prophet who actually journeyed these things and was there and does not blame the prophets in the past but knows their pain and has been an instrument of God to give us all a lesson which we can learn and move forward to. In the heart of God's grace and truth. Who is able to still speak in an uncompromised manner of what God requires of us in this new season. Thank you Jeremiah for being the message itself of who Jesus would be to all of us. God bless.

There have been points in time when I had great respect for Jeremiah. I stepped back a bit following the election and his response to that unfolding. I picked this book up, which is an older book of his. I found it to be grumbly and a bit braggadocio. Today’s prophets are horrible because…but these are the amazing things I’ve been a part of that prove I’m above that and doing things right. His overall message is on point and timely…seek God, represent His full and true character rather than seeking to please men or seeking experiences.

On an editing note, this format was strange. Huge spacing between lines.

A great read for anyone with the prophetic gifting of God

I liked that the writer told the truth and exposed the show and showed the work of prophecy because it is a gift that needs to be worked into the spirit of the prophe

Simple and straightforward, Jeremiah Johnson speaks mainly to an audience of prophets, calling for a new revelation of the whole knowledge of God. Prophecy needs to spring from a relationship with God, time spent with Him, humility before Him and a reverence of His holiness.

Excellent read

I agreed with the author. I loved the Scripture verses. God has reiterated this message again. It's 2020 and the message is still the same.

Prophetic Purity At It's Finest!

This book truly blessed me in so many ways! Although i wish the chapters were more lengthy, the purity that came with this message did more than make up for that! Truly the Father's heart has prompted this book to be birthed. A must read for all prophets, prophetic people or christians in general.
