IMPERSPICUITY: A Losing Trick Count Bridge Bidding System

Rate this book
This book outlines the new Imperspicuity bridge bidding system. The bidding system uses Losing Trick Count evaluation methods almost exclusively to determine opening bids, responses, and subsequent bidding. High Card Points (HCP) are only used to limit the range of the 1 no trump opening bid, for some balanced hand rebids and responses, and to inform opponents of the HCP range of opening bids. The bidding system also utilises Losing Trick Count evaluation methods almost exclusively for overcalls and competitive bidding, responses, and subsequent bidding - introducing a number of new conventions. The bidding system is based on a modified Precision structure a 1 club opening promising a 6 or less loser hand of any shape (0 - 37 HCP); a 1 diamond 'catchall' opening promising a 7 loser hand with at least one 4 card major which may have 0 diamonds or a 4 to 6 loser hand with a 4441 shape (0 - 25 HCP); 1 heart and 1 spade openings promising 7 loser hands with 5+ card suits (0 - 19 HCP); a 1 no trump opening promising a 7 or 8 loser balanced hand (12 - 19 HCP); 2 club and 2 diamond openings promising 7 loser hands with 5+ card suits (0 - 19 HCP); and Rule of 123 'pre-empts' promising variable loser hands (0 - 26 HCP). The Law of Total Losers is introduced and used to quantify high cards held without using HCP methods. This book is not recommended for beginner or intermediate level players as it assumes existing bridge knowledge and experience to an advanced level. The bidding system complied with the NZCBA bidding system rules at the time of writing. This book is formatted exclusively for a tablet or ipad.
