Rick Everett is on a quest to prove they did. He and his wife have chartered Vengeance to search for evidence in the Caribbean. He's enlisted Dani Berger and Liz Chirac to help him hunt for artifacts that support his theory.

Without knowing it, Everett's made them all pawns in a centuries-old struggle. Caught between the Sunni Muslim Saudis and the Iranian Shiites, they're in for a rough sail.

Read Bluewater Quest and discover what happens when zealots confront Dani and Liz.

Bluewater Quest is perfect for fans of thrillers set in the Caribbean.

Welcome aboard!
Charles Dougherty is a lifelong sailor; he's lived what he writes. He and his wife have spent over 30 years sailing together. For 15 years, they lived aboard their boat full-time, cruising the East Coast and the islands. They spent most of that time exploring the Eastern Caribbean. Dougherty is well acquainted with the islands and their people. The characters and locations in his novels reflect his experience.
A storyteller before all else, Dougherty lets his characters speak for themselves. Pick up one of his thrillers and listen to the sound of adventure as you smell the salt air. Enjoy the views of distant horizons and meet some people you won't forget.
Dougherty has written over 25 books. His Bluewater Thrillers are set in the yachting world of the Caribbean and chronicle the adventures of two young women running a luxury charter yacht in a rough-and-tumble environment. The Connie Barrera Thrillers are also set in the Caribbean and feature some of the same characters from a slightly more romantic perspective. Besides the Bluewater Thrillers and the Connie Barrera Thrillers, he wrote The Redemption of Becky Jones, a psycho-thriller, and The Lost Tourist Franchise, a short story about one of the characters from Deception in Savannah.
He has also written two non-fiction books. Life's a Ditch is the story of how he and his wife moved aboard their sailboat, Play Actor, and their adventures along the east coast of the U.S. Dungda de Islan' relates their experiences while cruising the Caribbean.

Another absolute winner!

I swear, CLR Dougherty gets better with every new book he writes. The flow is natural and easy. The tension is there, without being overpowering. The humor is dry, the beauty magnificent. And as usual, the bad guys are particularly bad, rendering their violent outcome all the more delicious!

I particularly liked this book because of its location in Soufriere, St. Lucia, a place I have visited numerous times. It was like coming home to a party. I won't give away the details, other than to say that Dani and Liz are as kick-ass as ever, and its always good to see Sharktooth, Phillip, Sandrine, and Marie.
A must read for all of The fans of Mr. Dougherty's fabulous works.

DID THE MOORS BEAT COLUMBUS TO THE NEW WORLD??

A charter has been arranged for two academics on Vengeance for the purpose of exploring the theory that Moors from the Iberian Peninsula actually discovered the New World before Columbus. A three month charter has been fully prepaid just for this purpose.
Documents that might have been written by the Profit Mohammed could have a direct impact on either the Sunni or Shiite Muslims have caused a Shiite hit squad to threaten and cause bodily harm to Dani, Liz, and their clients. How will Dani’s merry cohorts handle the usurpers? Read on to find out.

Nice contract. Nice people . All is not apparent until it is.

I always chose this rating when it comes to a Bluewater Novel. They are always great stories and written beautifully. My only regret is that I missed one. I'll rectify now.

Great story with compelling characters

Mr. Dougherty has a great thing going. I love his authentic mixture of sailing, the islands, intrigue and his wonderful characters. I think I'm in love with Dani, she is such a wonderful combination of skills and virtues. I recommend all of Mr. Dougherty's books.

Dull. Disappointed in this one in the series- insipid plot line, boring charter guests and the ending was rushed and just sort of petered out. Dani’s murderous tendencies border on psychopathic . Drink coffee, get kidnapped by baddies, kill them, dump their bodies , drink more coffee … and repeat

A delightful read

A unique story line that even having a feel for the outcome was captivating. Good characterization, a little intrigue and intensity and viola a good read.
