They say crime doesn’t pay . . . but what if it’s done in the name of love? Being left behind by my boyfriend and getting arrested wasn’t part of the plan. Neither was becoming a test subject for a mad scientist, a crash landing in the prison spaceship, and then struggling to survive in a deadly alien jungle.
I could have paid with my life, instead, I was given two incredible reasons to love again, and this time the thing I need to do is to hold on to them.
Love condemned me, now it’s the only thing left that can save everything I hold dear.
Simply enduring is no longer enough.
I want to truly live.

The Valos of Sonhadra series is the shared vision of nine sci-fi and fantasy romance authors. Each book is a standalone, containing its own Happy Ever After, and can be read in any order.

Book 8 in the valos of sonhadra series

Zoya is in darkness, at the point where all she wants to do is die. There is no fight left in her... experiment after experiment at the cold vicious hand of drs on the prison ship Concord. She has endured all up to this point and when she is scheduled for one last experiment and then death... she feels no worry it will be over.

Except... things don’t go to plan. Ejected from the ship she somehow escapes with her life... she chooses to live to see the next day to see what it brings.. stumbling around sonhadra she finds herself again facing death by a massive beast until a giant rock Gollum drops in to save her.

Rock and vlunn are the only two remaining stone valos remaining, they have endured a life that was promised so much more by their creator. Settling in to a routine of mutual love they nurse the strange creature that looks like their creator back to life in the hope that she will be more, believe she is more and can save them from the fate of the rest of the Stone valos.

Holy shit this book, words cannot express the despair and sadness that I felt from zoya. She had such a sad life ( in the grand scheme of things ) to wish for death because of cruel experiments was gutting. Her sorrow was so strong I could physically feel it.
I really felt for her. I was a one woman cheer squad for this charachter, I loved seeing her evolve and mend her broken pieces back together.

I adored seeing rock and vlunn’s already established relationship grow and adapt to her presence. It was beautiful and wonderful to see... for a number of reasons... the main ones being....but by no way limited to
1) this is not a ‘typical reverse harem - or variant of the m/f/m genre - an establish gay??bi?? Couple adding to their home/relationship for frivialous sexual kicks
2) the men did not just touch the woman... there was moments of intamacy between the men ( and it was beautiful crafted ) bravo MARINA.. you trail blazer you!!

The fact that a woman who was resigned to die, held the fate of her two loves ( who were resigned to fade into the mountain ) and told/asked/demanded that they fight was not lost on me... zoya had already done that for herself she needed to.... she ENDURED all of her sorrow and mistreatment So that she would have the strength to help the two who meant the most to her!

This a fantastic and wonderfully written sci fi romance, it’s creative and emotive and original. But it is so so so much more... for anyone who has ever battled any kind of mental illness, It speaks to the reader about having the courage to prevail and the strength to continue and above all else the power that is hope.

After her prison, the Concord, crashes on an unknown planet, Zoya escapes her medical pod and runs through a jungle to get as far away from the dreaded ship as possible. Her body is suffering from thirst and she's sick from repeated surgeries and constant drugs. And what do you know, Zoya runs headlong into danger. She figures dying and darkness are better than living with the pain. But fate has another twist for her. A stone figure steps forth from some rocks and saves Zoya.

Meet Qlraensukx, appropriately nicknamed "Rock," and Vlunn, his partner. They are the last of the Stone Valos who live in Corfoha, The Stone City. Stone Valos absorb water from the air through their skin and only eat meat. Rock found Zoya and together with Vlunn, they stumble through nursing her back to life. Will Zoya be Rock or Vlunn's mate? Or will she somehow choose both of them? They're running out of time, but Zoya doesn't know it.

Enduring is book 8 of the Valos of Sonhadra Series and can be read alone. I have to say that I thought this story was quite unique and enjoyed Marina Simcoe's world building. There's some steamy passionate moments, too. This isn't your typical Reverse Harem genre book. Rock and Vlunn already have a relationship. It is more like they fold Zoya into their bond. Just like Zoya, you’ll fall in love with Rock and Vlunn.

After reading this book I feel like Zoya would say this:
“When your life moves from darkness and pain and into the light, only then do you truly begin to live!”

5 BIG stars for Enduring by Marina Simcoe!

I really enjoyed reading this installment in the Valos of Sonhadra series. I love the characters and how Marina brought them to life. The story pulled me in from the get go. This story did bring me to tears, which I believe is a credit to the author. Not too many times does a book do that to me, it just goes to show what a wonderful story this is. I definitely recommend reading this book, and the whole series if you get the chance.

Zoya survives being experimented upon, survives the space ship crashing into a planet, but will she survive the planet?

Vlunn and Rock (something unpronounceable for real) find her and take care of her until she recovers.

They are quite the interesting trio. Vlunn and Rock are the last of their race of valos. Zoya doesn't know if anyone else survived and is scared to find out. Just learning how to live again will be enough for her. Vlunn and Rock have been surviving but now they have a reason to live again.

Her recovery gives her time to know Vlunn and Rock and them to know her. Their relationship doesn't seem to be because of proximity but because they bring out the best in each other.

This story is linked to the others in the series but can be read alone.

He is her Rock! Another fine story of Sonhadra.
Zoya was a biology student with a facility for languages. She made a grievous error in judgment that resulted in a prison sentence on the infamous Concord prison spaceship circling Earth. When the ship crashed on Sonhadra, Zoya awoke alone. She moved away from any possible survivors rather than be imprisoned again.
What a determined woman she is! Faced with imminent death, she meets it head on. At least she would die free. What a perfect time to encounter a stone warrior! I notice that each of the different types of valos have at least one trait in common. They are all super protective of the human woman they encounter in their domain. That holds true even if they think they’re not mates. Rock and Vlunn are so intense, yet so sweet to Zoya, that I find them adorable! Their story well done, poignant, and romantic. I love it!

It’s always fascinating to read about a new alien world and how a human survive it and find love. Main characters were very good with different personalities. I love the getup and plot. This book definitely made me shed a tear or two. It was emotional towards the end.

The Valos of Sonhadra series is a Sci-Fi alien romance with each of the 9 books in the series being told by a different author. If you have a favourite author of the bunch and don't want to read them all don't worry, each book can be read as a standalone. The background story for each book is the same, the heroine for nefarious and various reasons has been locked away in a prison ship and being experimented on by scientists. The experimentation changes each of the heroines in some way, which becomes massively useful when the prison ship crash lands on an unfamiliar planet. That's when the heroine starts to meet the natives. Sonhadra, the planet they have landed on, is inhabited by different factions of valos. The valos all have unique abilities and appearances...and most of them haven't seen a female in a long long time.

Wins the Award for Most Heart Wrenching of the Series

Although Shadowed was my favourite, Enduring was a really really close second. In fact I would say they were almost equal, it must be something about valos associated with stone! Zoya finds herself being looked after by two valos, Rock and Vlunn. She is helplessly attracted to them, despite their alien appearance and won over by their kindness. The only problem being that Vlunn and Rock are already in a relationship with one another. The other issue: they're dying. The book had me wiping away a few tears and needing a fan to cool down. Vlunn and Rock were hot together and this was the only book in the series where the males were in a sexual relationship with each other as well as the heroine. I won't be spoiling this much when I tell you this has a happy ending, but, even though I knew that would happen, it was still an emotional read.

Overall thoughts: Adored this book! Not only was it sexy, but it was imbued with plenty of emotional ups and downs.

Zoya! Im so so happy that she also got her book. Since I heard Preta talk about her I wished she had gotten a book too.
I really liked this book. Zoya, Rock and Vlunn are my adorable cinnamon buns.
Gosh how much I cried in that scene. I literally broke down. Like logically Ik that it wasnt gonna end like that. The author promised us a hea but damn her writing had me heaving with sobs.
What I didn't like about the book was that how Rock 'got better'. It felt really sudden and forced. The flow was great, suddenly it became shit and then got good again. It was weird...
I wish that was resolved better but overall I liked it.

Blah... I don’t know why I even tried... Oh I know, cause there was only two left in the series that I haven’t read and Amazon keeps taunting me with them.

Absolutely zero plot... I enjoy no plot smutty reads a lot of times but this one just didn’t hold my interest. Actually most of these didn’t... but there is one book left so you’ll probably get another mediocre review from me.

Update: Omg.... So I am looking on Amazon and see an additional novella for this series that wraps up book. 1 & 2... now I must read 2 more books

Love as solid as a rock.

The story of Zoya a sweet, tender hearted woman imprisoned because of a wrong choice she made in the name of love. She was an instant likeable character, winning the hearts of all who got to know her, an all around beautiful person. Her leading men the last stone Valos of Sonhadra, Vlunn and Qlraensuekx yeah thats the massively unpronounsable name give to our 2nd leading man so Zoya could nickname him Rock lol. They were absolutely perfect males, so attentive, caring, compassionate, loving and kind. Tall, broad backs and muscular thighs with rock solid muscles galore, gem coloured eyes and not to mention sporting some serious hardware they were sexy beefcakes. I enjoyed reading about their civilization, the amazing abilities that they possessed and especially how their relarionship blossomed into something hot and passionate. But not even their insane sexual encounters could sway me from the issues I had with this story. Firstly the story is told from the single perspective of Zoya and not from all three of our leading characters. That aggravated me to no end and I found myself speed reading hoping the next chapter would be told from the point of view of one of our stone males. Also it took so long for something to happen between our three main characters I was starting to get exasperated and when something did finally happen it was with the typical; girl has nightmare and guy goes to comfort her with sexy results. Also I'm not into the m/m thing so that put me off a little especially when the first erotic scene we have is Vlunn and Rock together plus some other scenes with them too that were much more intense. Yeah that just put me off big time but I get though why they had that sort of relationship. They had been alone since their creation without ever having a female, they were designed to have someone to love and care for like a compulsion and so out of necessity they paired with other males for companionship. The ending was also a bit predictable, the problem with the heartstones has been covered in the other books. What I couldn't understand was why they didn't tell her about the blood letting involved in the mating ritual? It seemed as if they didnt know what had to be done even though it's mentioned in their ritual and when Zoya cut herself Rock didn't seem surprised. So did they know or was it the combination of her love and the blood that did it? I am stumped about that and it's gonna bug me for a while. Even with some of the issues I had with this story I still enjoyed it and must admit to getting a bit teary eyed with the last chapter; what was happening to Vlunn. And the epilogue was ok but what would have made it even sweeter for me would have been a miraculous bun in the oven for our last two surviving stone Valos.

Okay, my fav out of the series this far. To be honest, I was concerned at first that this M-M-F story would end up more M-M erotica than anything else and I couldn’t have been more wrong. This was a deeply moving love story and I highly recommend it.

I really liked that the two guys in this story were a couple with romantic love, and that the female MC was added to the relationship instead of replacing the relationship. I don't like how the story prioritized her relationship though - yeah they need her for the heartstone thing to work but that doesn't mean that the love between the two guys is lesser than the love between the girl and the guys. The whole 'we paired up because of necessity' seems awfully close to apologizing for the M/M relationship that existed and I don't think there needs to be an excuse for the guys to have been in a loving relationship prior to the female MC's appearance.

Another winner 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

I am enjoying these books in this series!I in this 8th book Soya , a friend of Quinn, from the previous book, is so tired of the experiment 's that Sapp her energy, make her sick ,and HURT, that , as she is coming out of ANOTHER surgical abomination of her body , overheard the Dr and medical staff discussing that she may not live through another surgery , that's ok with her. She would rather be dead , such is her existence. Isn't that so sad??
By a weird quirk of fate, before her Last surgery can be started, the prison ship she is on, crashes on an Alien planet. And she finds , that, given a choice, she wants to Live! Just not there on a prison space ship. So, instead of searching for any survivors, she heads in the opposite direction from the crash site. Thirsty, achy, still under the influence of all of the hourly, and daily drug only meals she has been receiving, she is desperate for food , but most of all WATER !! If course when you are looking for something, you rarely find it ! After spotting some strange creatures, she is about to give up , when a very huge Rock man comes to her rescue. . He believes that she could be his and his friends " mate" , but she is only a human fallen from the sky , not one of the Creator 's inventions. As she heals and learns about this new world she finds herself in,and the bond between her rescuers grow and deepen , will she be able to let the past go and make a whole new life with her Stone VALOS , VLUNN , and ROCK ?? Or will it be too late ? What else must she ENDURE ???

I've really REALLY enjoyed this series and I'm a little sad to be hitting the end of the published book. (FYI, I read them slightly out of order, so...you know, it's the end for me.) Sonhadra's been a crazy ride from start to finish and I wouldn't mind digging into more set in this world.

But this is Zoya's story, so let's stop the melancholy moping about endings and get back to that.

Zoya. Another of the inmates experimented on aboard the Concord. She ended up in the Stone City with Vlunn and...Rock. Yeah, like Zoya, I can't do poor Rock's name. It's a tongue twister. As the last of the Stone Valos, they're resigned to the fate they believe is coming for them.

Zoya changes everything. She gives them a reason to want to stay, but a quirk in their partnering might make that impossible. (Vague? I know.) So they focus on making sure Zoya has the skills to continue on if anything were to happen to them.

Another set of caring, possessive Valos and a woman who's dealing with way more than anybody should have to deal with. *heart eyes*

WARNING! Contains a M/M relationship as well as Ménage.

While reading this, it was getting close to the end, and I thought I was going to be a little disappointed.
Luckily though, everyone got their happily ever after.

I had a few personal questions wanting answered after finishing.
Such as if Zoya ever found a way to revive the other heartstones.
Almost seemed like something was going to happen in that aspect, but it never was answered.

Reoccurring theme through most of the series is that most of the women didn't deserve to be in prison.
Not to the extent to which they were in.

I loved the characters in this book, but I will say the guys were my favorite.

The first intimate scene happens between the two male characters in this book.
It actually takes a little longer before the FMC is included.
However, I do like the fact that it doesn't focus on the intimacy part.
This story is more about the storyline.

I would recommend.
I really enjoyed this series.

Enduring was a bit different from the other books in regards to the fact that because of her abilities Zoya could understand the two Stone men right from the start, even if being able to communicate properly was a bit harder at first. The reverse harem vibe was different too because there was already a kind of romantic / sexual relationship going on between the two heroes before the heroine came into the mix.

ALL IN ALL;
The story was enjoyable and the characters likable. I had hope near the end of the book when the heroes mentioned Quinn and the city of the Dead. They were on their way there and I was hoping we would finally be able to get a meeting between two human women and two types of Valos, but just like in the previous book it didn't happen because the author ended the book as the heroes went on their way there... a bit disappointing honestly ...

I loved this! I loved this. I cried when I read it. Begging please, please, please, figure it out and give them an HEA. I was heartsick to think of this ending any other way.

So far, out of the entire series, this has been my favorite. I loved the characters, Zoya was the perfect leading lady, and her two heroes were a dream. This was a perfect all-around addition to this series.

I have one more to go in the series, and I am looking forward to it. Enduring gets 5 Boundless Stars form me. It made me cry! There is no greater honor!

Zoya was going to have one last operation that she would not survive from. When she woke up she was surprised the prison space ship The Concord crashed on an alien planet. Zoya got out of the ship and started walking looking for water. She could understand basic words from animals. A predator went after her and Rock an Valos a native from the planet saved her..He brought her home to meet Vlunn. The chemistry the three grew daily. She had strong feelings for the both of them and it was returned. Really liked how they were with each other. Great ending really enjoyed this story very much.

I liked this story

I liked this story despite some aspects of it. I wished that Vlunn and Rock's relationship was more platonic. However, that aspect wasn't so overwhelming in the story. It was mentioned, and there were a couple of scenes that made me uncomfortable, but then the focus was on Zoya. I wished there had been a little bit more or an epilogue. I would have liked to see her meet Quinn. I borrowed this book through the Kindle Unlimited program.

Brought on strong emotions for me

I don't know how, but somehow I missed reading this book when I read the other Sonhadra books. I was ecstatic to be able to read another book from this world. I devoured this book so fast it made my head spin.
Zoya, Rock and Vlunn were written so well that I empathized and cried with them. I hope that more Stone Valos can find a way to be brought back from death at some time in the future. This book was an absolute joy to read!
