MarieMark is everything I want in a man.As determined and forthright as he is chiseled and strong, he’s not about to let my hot-headed father stop him from pursuing me.Nor, from building his automotive service company the way he sees fit. Even if it means being in direct competition with our family business.MarkWhat matters to me is what matters to any Carving my own path in life, beholden to no one; making a name––and one day, a family––for myself.Meeting Marie hit me like a lightning strike. Vivacious and smart, mouth-wateringly sexy, she makes me want her like no other. She might be the one I can build a future with...IF there's more to her than a spoiled little rich girl.
Mark meets Marie, a friend of his brother’s fiancé, when she drives up in a beautiful muscle car. He finds out that she’s as much of a car aficionado as he is, and their romance is off and running. Her knowledge of cars is irresistible to Mark, who is just getting his own repair shop up and running. But facing her five older brothers and a father who runs one of the biggest companies in the industry means Mark is going to have to prove himself worthy of her.
This book covers a lot of ground – far more than just the central romance. There’s a big race coming up where Marie will be driving for her family’s company and Mark will be trying to win the prize money to bankroll his new business. There’s also a bit of drama surrounding a secret that her father is keeping, and there’s the matter of Marie trying to figure out her own career, separate from her family’s business. This story has tremendous depth, not shying away from the dangers of racing nor the inherent conflicts in a family-run company.
The chemistry between Mark and Marie is instant and white-hot, but Mark is careful and patient, making sure Marie knows he’s looking to the future and wants to do things right. Circumstances speed up the trajectory of their relationship, testing their new connection as well as their family ties.
I really enjoyed this love story, start to finish. Mark and Marie have a great relationship, and the inclusion of their family members adds wonderful depth to the story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I love Kate Gilead’s books even though I’m a bit behind on reading the Maple Mills series. Not having read all the previous books though, didn’t stop me from enjoying Motorhead. I loved this book and it can definitely be read as a standalone.
From the moment Mark and Marie meet, there are sparks between them. Neither of them played coy or shy, but were in full on flirt mode almost immediately. When Mark realizes that Marie can not only hold her own in a quick, witty conversation, but also under the hood of a muscle car, I’m pretty sure he starts to hear wedding bells ringing in his head. :)
Mark and Marie had great chemistry, but of course their love story wasn’t without challenges. There was plenty of family drama and other speed bumps along the way, but the new couple wasn’t ready to cave to pressure. Mark is the first man willing to stand up to Marie’s overbearing father and brothers and Marie is willing to give up everything in her life to have a chance with Mark.
Great romance with witty banter, strong characters, family drama, smoking hot chemistry and plenty of horsepower!
What a great read about an older hot man, Mark, who owns his own repair shop and the daughter of a rival business, Marie. They meet with sparks flying right away and soon they are off on dates. Unfortunately her dad doesn’t approve which causes some trouble and it’s up to them to stay strong and stick together. A great read with plenty of steam but what I loved is the gentleman that Mark was, not pressuring Marie, taking it slow and having an epic first date that even I would have loved. Not only that but the banter between the two was seamless and I loved how they stuck by each other no matter what. Even with everything going on around them and threatening their relationship they are solid...refreshing. Kate Gilead also had my heart pumping fiercely during the race scene, which played out in my mind like an action film and my nerves were shot at times...well done. *I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book*
Motorhead is such a sweet, sexy tale. I love how adorably sweet, yet sexy and gentlemanly Mark is with Marie. When Marie and Mark meet, the sparks are flying. But, will her overbearing and overprotective father and protective older brothers make a relationship between the two difficult? Or will the fact that he's a client of her family's business be the thing that breaks them apart?
I love that once Mark sets eyes on Marie, he sets about wooing her. He's steady and patient, and loyal, and doesn't let her family dissuade him from being with her. For Marie's part, although she's quite a bit younger than Mark, she's smart, she's mature, and she knows what and who she wants, too, and doesn't let her family get in their way.
Although I haven't read the rest of this series, I now plan to, because Mark and Marie have made me a big fan!
This author is still fairly new to me so I didn’t really know what to expect from her writing. I was blown away by her writing of this story. It’s the first in the Maple Hills Books I’ve read and now I’m definitely going to have to go back and read the rest! Mark and Marie both have a love of cars. He wants to run his own mechanics shop. She wants to do something other than working for the family’s company, that just happens to be one of the biggest in the auto repair world. Can they make it work with Marks company competing against Marie’s family’s business? This book is a must read that will keep you hooked through the entirety of it. Marie, the only daughter but with 5 brothers is studying and also working in her father’s auto supply shop. A great race driver, Marie is expected to race in an upcoming event being sponsored by her family’s business. One night out with best friend Brenda, she meets Mark, who is Brenda’s brother-in-law and the mutual attraction is instant. Mark, who owns an auto repair shop decides to enter the race as the large monetary prize will help his financial problems. The only trouble is they will be competing against each other. This was a good, well written story. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Marie is a business administration student working at here family's automotive parts store, meets Mark , the owner of an auto repair shop, when she goes for a girl's night at her best friend's house and he is there to pick up his brother. Sparks fly and eventually things combust as they get to know each other as well as deal with Marie's overprotective family and other roadblocks. An adrenaline rush of romance abounds for readers 18+.
Marie is used to every man she wants to date being scared away by her father and brothers. Mark is busy getting his new business off the ground and doesn't have time to date. Love has other plans. Will Mark be accepted by her family? Will Marie be able to step out of the family limelight?
Steamy read! Loved the instant attraction between these two. I understood Marie's need to please her family, but was proud when in the end she decided to put her foot down. LOVED how Mark was this big macho man, but when it came to Marie he was tender. Great read!

While racing isn’t my bag, Motorhead could almost change my mind. This book is filled with hot guys, fast cars, and even faster women. It really gets your juices flowing...if you catch my drift. The storyline is awesome; the characters fully fleshed out; emotions are all over the place; and the run to the HEA...priceless. Get this bad boy today!! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and was totally impressed.) ❤️
This is a solid 3.75 for me. It didn’t blow me away but the parts that made an impact were strong. Mark is a dominant older GENTLEMAN. Marie is young but is determined and mature. This story is drama and sexy and sweet all at the same time. I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.
I love this series! I'm gonna hate it when this series is over! This was a really good read despite being a slow start. The plot was great and interesting. I loved being back together with previous characters from the other books. The characters were well-developed and easily relatable. I can't wait to see what happens in Maple Mills next.

Definitely a book for 18+ adults. You are going to get a steamy, sexy read that will get you from the get go. Marie and Mark are perfect for each other and the chemistry these two have is so so hot.....
Mark is starting up his own car repair shop and Marie is the daughter of the Sinclair’s. The Sinclair’s is the biggest automotive parts sales in the region. Between a car race, overbearing father and nosey friends Mark and Marie just my have a chance for their own HEA.
Marie and Mark are perfect for each other. I loved how he was trying to be more gentlemanly on their first date and not take things to fast. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
