I want her, I always get what I want. Only this time it will be for good!!!
Sean
She’s more beautiful than ever. She nearly broke down the walls of my mental fortress two years ago when we slept together. I can still taste her sweetness on my lips. It had been so difficult to walk out on her and yet I had to.
I thought I would never see her again, but I couldn’t stay away. Rachel is like a drug and I’m hooked. Her breaking point is where I’ll take her!
Fate is inexorable and our destinies are entwined; the day we meet again we will be bond together. I know that now, and I will do all it takes to get her.
Rachel
It’s him again, the man who impacted my life once already; the experience was not a good one despite the searing hot passion.
He’s super intelligent, insanely gorgeous with beryl green eyes and richer than Croesus.
And now my company is on the brink and I have no choice but to seek out this sinful billionaire in an attempt to save everything I worked so hard for.
Will I succumb to his devilish charms once more… Never; I despise the man with a vengeance.
And Yet…
He claimed me once before and took me past my breaking point – there was no way back from that, and to this day, I think that there never will be
*This is a second chance billionaire romance story with a happy festive ever after, no cliffhanger, no cheating, and of course sexy steam. Surprise Inside Story content included.*
J.B.Baker is an author of contemporary romance books living in London (United Kingdom) When J.B is not in a coffee shop writing stories then its Netflix and a glass of red wine.
J.B.Baker’s books are an engaging read, especially for women and any other lovers of the romance genre.
I love a second chance story line. I love a book with a bit of angst. Or a lot. I love a good HEA too. And this book brought me all of these attributes. From what I can see, this is the first book from this author and as far as first books go, it's put together really well. The storyline is unique in the chain of events that occur and that is something hard to do in the romance world with so many books and so many amazing authors out there. My favorite part of the book is how descriptive the author is about small details that a lot of authors will pass over. For example, something as simple as Rachel drinking the wine....I seriously could taste that wine as I was reading. And, is it really a brand because it made me want some. As Rachel is standing in Sean's office for the first time....I felt like I was seeing it through her eyes with all the details. And I absolutely love when an author can bring that to the table. I think that's a unique gift from a storytellers point of view and it's obvious it's one that this author possesses. I really enjoyed the dynamics of the characters....their back story, their history, what happened to each of them during their time apart, and how the author brought them back together. I loved reading Sean's realization of his feelings for Rachel, and the extreme measures he took to get her back. One thing, it was short. And sometimes short is good but I wanted more. And I wanted to the extended HEA because I'm a greedy reader like that. While the author did a great job at being descriptive, at times it felt a little clinical when characters feelings were being written about. It's hard to put into words where this feeling came from, but it was just something that came to mind as I was devouring the book. Because regardless of these minor things...I still did just that....devoured the book in about 45 minutes. I would love to see more from this author, and I would also love to see more from these characters....like...hint hint....a story about the daughter maybe?? Just sayin!! Breaking Point is the debut novel for author JB Baker. This story is a second chance, billionaire romance, and it’s a steamy short read. The characters have the right kind of chemistry between each other. They burn hot when they are around each other. Rachel is a successful business owner, and I really enjoyed her character. She was witty and strong, and made me laugh in some parts, especially the bit based around the look alike receptionists. Sean is a rich playboy who is used to getting exactly what he wants. It took me a bit to warm up to his character. I found him to be a borderline pain in the rear(putting it nicely). He did however redeem himself by the end for me.
The story had a nice flow and was really well written. It was a quick read with some seriously steamy scenes. I would, however, have liked the love connection between Rachel and Sean to be explored in more detail. I just felt it was a little bit rushed towards the end, but other than that it was a really good story. I look forward to reading more from JB Baker.
Breaking Point by JB Bakers is a Second Chance Romance, I received as an ARC and reviewing voluntarily. Rachel an business woman owns a communication consultancy, Saunders & Mitchell with her friend Michonne and their major client is Sunbeams Energy Crops. When their client's company is taken over by Courtney Holdings Incorporated, which is owned by Sean Courtney, with whom Rachel had a one night stand two years back but resulted in losing her job. Now after they are in a merger, Sean is cocky in his attitude but Rachel is no way to fall for his charms. In the beginning it seems like how arrogant and chauvinist he is, but later the pain behind his behavior is heart wrenching. This book doesn't much of my time, I felt it like a quick read but actually, I never noticed the time, it as interesting and fast moving story with erotic sex scenes and with most sensitive emotional peoples. I just loved it.
I don't know what to write about this book. I can't say that it's bad, but I have problems with it. First what I liked about the book that the hero, Sean was a billionaire and finally he wasn't twenty something! He was 40 years old. And I liked this. Rachel was 31 years old (same as me), not a silly twenty years old virgin. The book was written in alternate point of view. And I love to read both of the character's thoughts, but I couldn't feel their situation, their feelings weren't believable for me. I liked the storyline. It was a second chance romance. I liked how they met again. BUT I think the whole book was too short. There were little conversations in the book. The inner monologes were too much for me, and because of this I couldn't imagine the characters, their feelings. I think this book would have been better if the story was more elaborate. However the writing, the author's style was good. So sorry, it's just 3* from me..
Destinies Forever Entwined. Best read of the Month. Wow what a long way this fabulous author has come. I could not fault this fantastic story at all. I loved the inside story first as it gave the main story a lot of depth of the characters straight away without spoiling the outline of the story, well done JB a brilliant idea. Rachel and Sean’s story was perfect. Rachel hated Billionaire Sean as she thought he was arrogant, chauvinistic and shallow, little did she know. Some of the prose made me cry as it was so beautifully written. This story was one hot and erotic read. I loved it. This is my honest review of an ARC I received.
I received a copy of this book and I voluntarily leave my review. This is the 1st book I’ve read and reviewed for J.B Baker and I really loved it. This is the story of Rachel and Sean, Rachel owns a communication consultancy and Sean owns Courtney’s Holdings. Sean and Rachel had a one night stand two years ago but he had to leave her, but now he’s back and he will do anything to get back into Rachel’s life. I loved the characters and storyline and the chemistry between Rachel and Sean. I recommend this book and it’s a fantastic read.
This is the first book I have read from this author. This story is a fast paced, easy to read and steamy! This is a great second chance romance. This is the story of Rachel and Sean. They have history, fast and furious. Which left Rachel with a bit of bruised heart. When I first read about Sean, I didn't like him too much. He was a player, and treated Rachel atrociously in his past. As I continued reading, I could see why Sean did what he did. Then I began to appreciate him more.
There was a couple of editorial errors, but they are minor. I can't wait to see what comes next!
Breaking Point is a well written second chance romance. The relationship between Rachel and Sean is intense and runs the gambit of emotions. Not gonna lie, in the beginning I thought Sean was a total douche. Throughout the book you get a sense of where that comes from, and he definitely redeems himself. It wasn't hard to read this in one sitting, since the story pulls you in and holds you until the HEA. Overall, great read! I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
For the second time in two days, it appears that the "books" authors are putting up on Instafreebie are nothing more than 2-3 chapter previews with buy links to get the real book.
Second author in as many days to end up on my Hell Nah list. This is nothing more than bait and switch. It's illegal. Think about that, authors.
Extremely entertaining, captivating, and very interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Very exciting story. It is exciting, suspenseful, emotional, hot, intriguing enjoyable, sweet and so much more. Two people with a history and issues that need to be worked out. He wants her but she is afraid. He left her before. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
