Christmas Candy is a second chance romance box set with loads of heat, guaranteed HEA and absolutely no cliffhangers! Includes extra steamy holiday bonus content for your reading pleasure!
This is a 3-book box set of second chances, plus some bonus books for your continued enjoyment. Below is a review of two of the books as an example of the stories in this set.
>>> Reviewing “Christmas Wishes” <<< Cara Tyler had an unusual job that she loved! She was a part-time interior designer working from home! Her enthusiastic attitude tended to draw the oddball clients with peculiar requests; but her job encouraged a “don’t ask-don’t tell” environment, so anything was “fair game”. But a design based on Fifty Shades of Grey was giving her a bit too much information about her new client. Her best friend and roommate, Michael, walked in and, seeing her face, immediately guessed what design the client probably asked for. Curious, he asked to look at her design and critiqued it expertly, which made her ask how he knew so much about such a room? He smiled and told her not to ask unless she truly wanted to know! They then continued to comfortably banter back and forth like the best friends they were.
Mike asked Cara to come with him on a movie date with Laura. Apparently she had a friend and they didn’t want him to feel awkward. In truth, Mike wanted her to meet someone to get over dwelling on Jack whom she couldn’t even talk about without crying. Laura’s friend, Kristoff, was a douche bag, very unfriendly until Cara spilled her soda and it made her blouse see-through. After the movie, Kristoff suggested they get a room and said she should feel lucky that he propositioned her since big girls probably didn’t get asked out much. She punched him in the nose! Michael ran over and was about to go after Kristoff too for insulting his best friend. So to distract him, she groaned and pretended her hand was injured from the punch. She asked to be taken to the hospital.
Mike fidgeted while they waited, but at last Cara was taken to an examining room. The door behind opened and she turned to see Jack – her ex, Dr. Jack Frost, turned out to be the ER doctor! When Mike left the room to take a phone call, Jack tried to apologize to Cara for their breakup. It seems he wanted her back, but was the pain going to let Cara forgive him? Did she want to risk her heart again? If he hadn’t changed since their breakup, what would be the point of trying?
>>> Reviewing “Christmas Kisses” <<< Julie Evans was looking at dresses with her friend, Melissa, in preparation for attending a wedding. She just couldn’t get enthused at the expensive garment. But she needed to have a dress, even if it meant starvation ahead.
At the wedding reception, a man asked Julie to dance. But as they danced, he got bolder and moved her closer against his body, eventually spinning her out and back in so her back was against him. He held her a bit too close, but as she wiggled to imply he should loosen his grip, he did the opposite. She was starting to panic. She threatened to scream and he clamped his hand over her mouth. So she head-butted him and slipped out of his grasp as he held his bleeding nose. When he called her a slut, she punched him. Strong arms went around her and dragged her away. She bit him and spun around, stopping in shock as she stared at her ex, Chace. Seeing how shaky she looked, he asked her if she would like to sit down -- and she promptly sat on the floor right where she had been standing!
Julie had dreamed of this moment ever since their breakup. She wanted to apologize, and ask him if he would give her another chance. He was all she ever thought of, and he was worth whatever she had to do to get him back. He apologized to her that his fear of what to say to console her when her grandmother died made him instead pull away. But he wasn’t sure about a second chance. He never wanted to go through pain like that again, even though his heart wanted her back too. So now what? Was he too afraid to let her convince him they belonged together? Would he walk away? And could she survive if he did?
As with the previous story, this was another slow-moving story. The banter between best friends Julie and Melissa at first was humorous, but it got to feeling forced to the point of being annoying. It kept going on and on, and it just didn’t flow well. The story line didn’t get to the reason for Julie and Chace breaking up until I had read well into the story! Their excuses for the breakup were kind of weak, and by that time, I wasn’t really invested in either character’s happiness. This wasn’t horrible, but was not a book I was excited over reading. I do believe in second chances, but these two books didn’t make me eager for that outcome. No one put forth much effort for that opportunity. However, this is just my opinion and it may resonate better with other readers. I received a copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review with my honest opinion.
Hoo boy, I couldn’t finish this box set because the first book was an absolute mess and I didn’t want to waste more of my time with the others.
But here’s my review of the first story, Christmas Kisses?. I had no clue where this book was going for the first thirty percent. Why? Well, because in my copy, Cara’s (the h) best friend is named Jack, so for a while I thought he was the love interest considering this story was originally published under the title ‘Jack Frost’. But then I find out that the ex boyfriend is ALSO named Jack. Needless to say, throughout the rest of the story, it managed to cause plenty of confusion.
Cara and Jack#2 had a bad breakup that the reader only gets bits of information about. The H/h hardly spend any time together and the H was really underdeveloped. I knew almost nothing about him except for his profession and that he has depression... I think? It’s not quite clear. Really, the story’s just a bunch of messing around between Cara and her two best friends. Their banter and interactions are cute and funny, but after I bit I started to think ‘if I wanted to just read about some people hanging out, joking around, I’d spend my time with my friends instead of reading about others’’.
Proofreading: sjack1 was used 24 times, norJack 13 times. Why? Not sure, but my guess is the author was using them as placeholders so she could go back with the actual words she wanted after thinking it over. That’s definitely something that shouldn’t be missed.
The story has potential, but thanks to poor editing and an underwhelming relationship between the H/h, it’s a pass.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is a quick read about Cara who is a strong independent woman after a messy breakup. Dr. Jack broke Cara’s heart and almost her spirit. Cara has a best friend also named Jack who has been there for her and keeps her going some days. After a double date Cara stands up for herself and ends up physically hurting herself and goes to see a doctor and you, Dr. Jack is the one to see her. Things are intense and to Cara’s surprise Dr. Jack makes a huge confession. Cara leaves and her mind is running around everything that just happened. Can Dr. Jack earn a second chance with Cara and open up and be emotionally in the relationship? Will Cara be able to risk losing herself again if things don’t work out? I enjoyed all the additional stories, some I have previously read and enjoyed them all again! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Christmas Wishes The story features Cara Tyler and Jack Frost. The story is about great friends, forgiveness and second chances. The basic story line was good but way too much filler story. We don’t really need to know what these characters are doing 24/7.
Christmas Kisses The story features Julie Evans and Chace Matthews and is a second chance romance. This story also has too much filler story. I’m also not a fan of story lines that involve cheating in any form.
Christmas Bells The story features Jordyn and Tom and is also a second chance romance. The grammar and wording in this story almost feels like a rough draft was published instead of a finished story. The many errors in this story made it hard to follow. The basic story line is great but again with too much filler story. I did enjoy this story the best out of the three in this book.
This box set rated about 3.25 stars for me. All of the stories had potential to be great but unfortunately fell flat. The characters lacked passion and to a point, integrity. There were no grand gestures or premeditated thought to win someone back. The opportunities were just coincidental. And to get to those coincidences and ultimately the Esther rushed endings seemed to drag on. Rushed and dragged- strange but true. I received this set for a a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.
rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. It was kinda meh for me. Basically every story was about second chances with past loves over the Christmas holidays. One book in the anthology Christmas Kisses has Julie at a wedding being hit on by a crude man and she punches him. The next thing she knows she is being dragged away by none other than Chace...her ex. After talking they decide to give their relationship another go...bit will things be different this time around? Or will past mistakes be the ruin of their new relationship?
Very well written with great storylines and plots. Full of expanse and hotness. Absolutely a box set worth the read. Enjoyable hot second change stories.
Great stories with a twists and very enjoyable reads. There are laughs, drama, revenge, passion, emotions, hot scenes, twists and lots of chemistry.
I like the main characters and how they develop. Very captivating from first to last chapter. The author has delivered a box set that is worth the read!

A trio for Christmas..
This box set includes a trio of men looking to win the love of the women they love. Needless to say the women won't make it easy for them. Maybe a little Christmas magic in the air will help true love win. All three of these stories are great reads on their own but are even better as a trio.
Three different stories of second chances that happen at Christmas time , I enjoyed reading these books. There is Christmas Kisses which is Chance and Julies' story. Christmas Wishes is Jake and Cara's story and Christmas Bells is Jordyn and Thomas story about a loss that tore them apart but now they might have a second chance at their marriage. It was pretty slow going for all the stories in this set. I don't mind a slow build, but I don't feel like it ever got to a good climax. I think an up in the pacing would do well for the story. Also there are some things that don't make much sense like the ending of some of the stories. It took too much time to get there, and then got rushed in the end.

Three books all second chance romances with happy endings. I love second chance romances and they are even better when they end with an HEA. Enjoyed every story in this three box box set and also loved the bonus story and a small teaser Xoxo, Meme Chanell Book Corner
