Into the mists is the second book in The wardens series. There are 7 full-length books in total and a couple of spin-offs. This is a reverse harem relationship scenario. Our main character is Macey a princess kelpie. At the end of the last book (From the deeps), Macey has been kidnapped by the enemy which means she’s found a warden but lost her men.

The group need to reunite and figure out how to fulfil their destiny. The story is based around Scottish mythology. It’s a fantasy adventure story with romance including incubus and two wraiths. Each warden is special in their own way.

Into the mists gives us a clue of the types of enemies the series will concur. We have new and old characters along with new relationship dynamics. In this instalment, the romance isn’t a focus of the journey.

I really like this series so far Angus Yellowlees offers a range of voices and reads the story well. This is a continuous story and needs to be read in order.

*Into the Mists contains Adult content.

*I received an ARC of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I also have a copy of the 1-4 boxset and a paperback copy of this novel.

This picks up where the first book leaves off. I absolutely love Macey and her guys, and I really enjoyed Amber. There’s secrets and twists that kept me glued to the pages.
You don’t want to miss this series it’s fantastically written, filled with humor, and keeps you on your toes.

This was narrated by Angus Yellowlees and there couldn’t be a perfect man for it. His accents and how he distinguishes between voices and species (or beings?) is fantastic.

Macey has been kidnapped...again. This time by The Voice. Alone, in a dirty cell, she's at the mercy of The Voice and his cruel mind games. Although she knows that Amber is in a nearby cell, the only company she has is a talking, secretive, sassy mouse. Luch. Unable to passively wait for a rescue Macey and Amber with an assist by Luch stage their own escape. Reunited with her wardens, Jared, Cam, and Flint and Amber with Izban, the wardens go back to their mission. Restore the Starhan to health' save the world. Along the way, they encounter new allies, new enemies, and as their tasks become more clear, secrets are revealed.

Into the Mists picks up where book one left off and doesn't miss a beat. It's a non-stop adventure. Macey is really growing into her role as a warden and as a leader. The friendship between Macey and Amber is lovely and each girl's relationship with her warden(s) is sweet and sexy. I enjoyed the incomparable Aunt Nessie and loved the introduction of Ronan. I hope his role continues. Luch is an unexpected bonus. Her character is so complex and eventually had me in tears. The ultimate enemy is both fascinating and frightening. It will be a difficult battle for the wardens.

I need to note how much I appreciated the illustrations. I am unfamiliar with all of the creatures featured in this book. It's wonderful to have an image to work with. Makes the story more meaningful.

The excitement and tension grow book by book in this series. I can't wait to see what's in store next for the wardens. As imaginative as this series is, it's sure to be entertaining.

Great continuation! I love how solid she is in her love for the guys and I love that Amber and Izban finally got together. Is she going to add Ronan to her harem? Cannot wait til June 😍

Amazing

My fave Kelpie is back to kick some butt in this new installment to this series. We pick up right where book one ended with Macey being held prisoner. The story just gets better from there as she gets free, meets back up with her men, meets new friends, and learns all kinds of things. The story building is just incredible and you can't help but love the characters. A must read for fans of paranormal reverse harem romance novels. Macey really needs some waffles now. I loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

Macey thinks she finds herself with her beloved men when she wakes after a recent battle, but where is she really?

She meets lighting Beither Amber and discovers both that they are called together and that they are trapped by an evil voice.

He seems to take on the power of deception and doubt, and can apparently reflect their fears and their hopes back to them to use against them.

Belief in themselves and their talents can free them, for now at least, but the biggest battles are ahead.

Interesting that over coming self doubt is among the hardest challenges.

a steamy and sexy saga, with much adventure and somewhat frustrated romance.

If you enjoy story cycles like the Silmarillion and Lord of the Rings, but prefer an adult twist, this could be your next fun read - or whole series of reads - great as standalone, or as part of the series!

I enjoyed this more than the first book! I loved that we learned more about the history of the Seven Wardens and got to see new mythical beings. This book had more secrets, characters, and was packed with new information and adventure. Macey has some great character development in this book and I’m excited to see what happens next!
There was improvement in this recording compared to the first since I didn’t hear any static background. Angus did another amazing performance with this book! He used so much emotion to breathe life into the story and each character in it. He definitely has that voice that will have you hooked until the very end and wanting more!

Sorry no spoilers of any kind because I’m not the type that does that. I don’t have the right words to describe this book so all I’m going to say about this story is that it’s ABSOLUTELY AWESOME and so are the authors that wrote it! I’m so looking forward to reading the next book because I have to know what happens to Macey and the rest of the gang. So if you are asking me if I recommend this book? Well it would be a big HECK YES I am recommending that you read it but first start with From The Deep before you start on this one that way you don’t get confused on who’s who! Skye MacKinnon and Laura Greenwood are gifted story weavers, basically they ROCK! So if you haven’t read any of their books, well get busy because I can definitely guarantee that you will not be disappointed at all!

Angus Yellowlees did another amazing job narrating this book. Into the Mists picks up soon after the end of From the Deeps, with Macey waking up in a cell after being kidnapped by Malan (the entity that Macey nicknamed The Voice). The storyline progresses with Macey escaping, connecting with new characters that join her on her quest, reconnecting with her men, eventually finding out new information about her own family history, and learning more about what the roles that the Seven Wardens play in the big picture. Obviously, there is a lot that happens in this book, but it is all laying the groundwork for the rest of the storyline of this somewhat lengthy series (there are 7 books, plus a prequel and a spinoff story). This book was entertaining and provided clarification about some things, but introducing other issues that haven't been resolved yet. It does not end in a cliffhanger, but ends in a way that allows Macey, her men, and her new friends to have a little bit of a break before they start the next leg of their journey. I look forward to reading/listening to the next book in this series and seeing what will happen next to these memorable characters.

This second novel in the Seven Wardens series (i believe it's a trilogy but I'm not sure) pretty much takes off right from the end of the first one with it's doozy of a cliffhanger with Macie being kidnapped by the Voice, Mahoun. Though it doesn't seem like it at first. Clever authors, keeping us guessing!

It turns out the sickness of the Staran isn't a simple thing and not the only task of being The Wardens. And neither is their task simply dealing with The Voice. There's a lot more going on. Including Macies past and the long history of The Wardens. Absolutely loved this! Make sure you read the first one and i highly suggest reading through the storm so you can get to know Amber and everything about being a Beither

Ok so plot twist! We are dealt a ton of information in the second Seven Wardens book. And I mean a ton. We learn more about the Seven Wardens in general. We learn more about magical creatures that exist in this world and we learn more about Macey. She’s not everything that we thought she was. The Seven Wardens finally come together in this book by they still need to figure it a way to save the world in only a short amount of time. I can’t wait for Beneath the Earth!

3 stars overall, 3 stars story, 5 stars narrator
A good urban fantasy but an annoying heroine

This is the second 5-hour audiobook of a romantic urban fantasy series. The books must be read in order because the series is one continuous story. Whereas the first book ended on a cliffhanger, this one ended at a good stopping place. The series is told from the single perspective of the primary female character, Macey, the shapeshifting kelpie (Scottish water horse).

I have very mixed feelings about this audiobook. First, there are many things that I like about it. I love the Scottish mythology, including Macey's aunt Nessie (the Loch Ness Monster). I love the few new characters in this book. I really like how there was more fantasy and action than romance in this book. You almost forget that it has a reverse harem romantic relationship in it. Macey’s three paranormal soulmates are all likable and respectful without being overprotective. I also enjoyed the action scenes and the plot development. However, I think that Macey is very annoying. This is a major problem because the entire book is told from her perspective. In the first book, I had assumed that I didn’t like her only because of her emotional immaturity, but I was wrong. Macey matured a lot by the beginning of this book. What I find most annoying is her thoughts. She has a chaotic, easily distracted mind, and the reader is forced to listen to every single random thought (and there are tons of them). Macey’s mind is more focused and cool during the action scenes, but I find her to be terribly annoying in every other scene. Because of this, I am giving up on this series. I have never read another series by either of authors, so I don’t know if they write other characters who have such distracted thoughts that don’t flow well.

I do adore the narrator’s performance. Angus Yellowlees's cast of authentic Scottish accents are perfect for this series. In addition, I love the special effects touches that he adds, such as the echoing effect for a supervillain's voice. He is great at pacing, too. I am sure that he elevates the book far beyond the ebook with his masterful performance. Every male and female character voice is excellent. I will search for more of his work.

This is the second full book of the Seven Wardens series and sees Macey having gotten comfortable with her three men, although Jared is an incubus and Cam and Flint are both wraiths, who allow the others to travel along the Staran. At the end of the first book, the four have found Izban, with the assistance of the cat-man, but the Voice manages to take Macey. She had begged them not to try and find her if that happened, as the Voice had already informed her that it only needed four Wardens for whatever it had planned! What she finds in the dungeon cage she has been thrown into, is another young woman who is clearly being tortured and is obviously the Lightening Warden they are meant to rescue. Macey also meets a small mouse that can talk to her, who prefers to be called Luch. The Voice has been pushing a particular nightmare, as well as lots of awful memories, to Amber as part of their torture of her. One shows her how she is going to die, repeated often and repeatedly.
When Macey is pulled up to a courtyard, she sees Amber under the Voice’s control and Amber is told to kill her, but still has a little bit of her own self still able to work in her mind. The Voice’s plan for her and Amber is not good news and his plan is even worse for all the worlds and their life forms. He has taken on the legend of the devil, as known by many in different forms, but none of them truly know what he is nor how to defeat him! Macey is determined to fight her own way out of her prison, rescue Amber and reunite with her men. She’s a Princess and thinks she can do without men having to come to her rescue. Amber and Macey have a fight on their hands, but are lucky to have made a friend in Luch, who is not quite what they seem. There is a problem with the Staran, surrounded in mists, but being affected by something and the Wardens must first figure out it out, once they are all reunited. Macey also gets saved by Ronan, a selkie, the absolute enemy of the kelpies. It seems like lots of lies have been spread about each of them and how dangerous they all are. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Audio Narrator Review:
I absolutely love Angus as the narrator for the Seven Wardens series. I don't think anyone else could do it justice haha. I think Angus does a great job with all his distinguishing voices, especially the different guys (even if I am not a fan of Flint's voice so much). I thought Angus was inventive with the different "beings" and the echo-ing he did, since they were all different (for The Devil, the lady spirit I am gonna butcher if I try to spell haha, and the mouse's hubby). Can't wait to listen to more of his audiobooks, he definitely needs to stay on for the rest of the series ❤️

Book Review:
In honesty book 2 is not my favorite of the Seven Wardens, so I couldn't give it 5 stars like book 1. I think because this one had some lull moments that book 1 didn't (when Macy was kidnapped by the voice/devil). Also the part about self-doubt didn't hit me like I had hoped it would, compared to the other baddie of the story. I also noticed that some phrases/feelings were often repeated and just needed to be edited a bit to make it cleaner/more impactful. Despite those things, I am loving how the story is progressing with Macy, her guys, Ishban and Amber, and now the intrigue with aunt Nessie! I was sad to see a character go, but I loved how it was done/the reasoning. It was bittersweet to be sure. I am also intrigued about the Selkie character and if he fits in anywhere/continues on with the story.

Can't wait for Book 3 on audio, hopefully will be here is a couple months! I am able to get through so many more audiobooks compared to normal books and definitely will continue to download the Seven Wardens on audio 😍

Well, this is a horse of a different color! This second book in the series goes in another direction, which I had not anticipated. It's still a fantasy, with lots of adventures. The main character, Macey, is still in a relationship with three males, so technically it's still a reverse harem, but the romance stuff is set way back (until the second half and the super steamy epilogue). Because of the second kidnapping, there is a lot of danger, as well as the focus changing from romance to more of an epic fantasy.

I'm not complaining, though, as the writing has improved, the characters feel more fleshed out, and the action is almost non-stop. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'm excited by how much Macey has matured. Her world has expanded, both literally and physically. Her quest to find the rest of the Seven Wardens is achieved. Her mission to help heal the Staran seems to be accomplished. I especially like how the hardest obstacles are overcome by the females in the story, whether they are alone or helped by their male friends or mates. I also loved the battle with Self-Doubt! Totally a nod to the classics and the idea of the hero and his/her dark reflection!

While some questions have been answered, more have popped up. I love that. What problems will be faced and/or solved in the next book? Will the villainous Voice continue to attack? Was the Self-Doubt thing able to call for help? What happened to the guys in the dungeon? When will there be waffles?!?!

Several typos, but nothing too distracting.

Lightening is found! Amber and Maceys story is a wonderful friendship blooming under difficult circumstances. There is always that one friend you meet that you just look at them and know "that's my new friend." Macey and Amber are that one.... of course The Voice is trying to get them to off each other, good thing both girls are stronger than they look or think they are! They are being held prisoner in an old castle, The Voice tricks them into thinking they escaped but Macey figures out the trick and gets Amber to wake up and see it to. They then figure out how to really escape, helped by Luch, and fly out of the castle trap by Amber flying them out. They make it back to the guys and get at least 1/2 a day to rest and then they are off n running again! They meet up with some selkies, find air and move on to the next part of their adventure. Amber and Izban get to work things out and Macey, Flint, Cam and Jordan get their recharge time also. Luch takes them to an island where the orginal Warden started and tells them tales of the first and how things were. They find the crystal and Macey identifies the problem with the Staran and ends up in a bit of a bind, but with a group effort 1 blob of the problem is dealt with on to the next one.... after some rest. Lots is going on and lots to look forward to.

These ladies bring a seamless transition from Book 1 to Book 2! Great to see further character development with nothing feeling rushed in regards to the connections being made/sustained between Macey and the other wardens. Good to see the introduction of new supernatural beings and having them different to their stereotypes - just like in book 1. Interesting to see that we still don't know much about "The Voice", except that he is continuing to torment the Wardens, and now isn't the only one involved in all that is happening.

Again, love having illustrations throughout the book to help us picture the supernatural beings from the books.

Can't wait to see where we go. Just how is Nessie involved? How will Izban and Macey create their magical bond? Just what is next for the wardens? Can't wait to read Beneath the Earth to see the next instalment in the Seven Wardens saga!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author for review consideration.

This books is a RH, so if you are not into a FMC having multiple partners and sexual content, this is not for you.

The Voice has kidnapped Macey and taken her to a castle somewhere where she meets Amber, the Lightning Warden. Both women struggle to survive and return to the other Wardens. Meanwhile, something is killing the pathways they use to travel. How will the Wardens find out how to heal something created so long ago no one remembers? How will this effect the world if they can not succeed?

Join the Wardens as they struggle to fight an unseen enemy and find out how to become the Wardens of the Prophecy. And while you are there, join me on the Kelpie Club Bench... *pats seat*

This is Book 2 of the Seven Wardens. I have always loved kelpies but had not found many books where they were featured let alone having the be the main character! The co-authors have really thought out the mythology and characters which makes this an enjoyable read. This book will introduce you to multiple mythological creatures you have never heard of (or I had not) and make you want to run out and learn more about them.

Captives of the Voice . . .

Continuing on from the previous book, Macey was kidnapped and locked in a prison by the evil Voice. Amber, the Lightning Warden, is also held captive there and being tortured with mind images played over and over. Luch, a talking mouse, is a surprise addition and quite helpful in making sure Macey and Amber escape.

When Macey is reunited with her wardens, Jared, Cam, and Flint, and Amber is back with Izban, the wardens turn again to their mission. They encounter something wrong with the Staran and the Wardens must figure it out when they are reunited. Macey, a kelpie, will even get saved by Ronan, a selkie, and we have already heard how those groups hate each other. They find that lies have been spread to make both groups look bad to each other, and sometimes things are not what they seem. It’s good to keep an open mind. Grab your copy and keep up with this amazing story line. The characters are so well drawn to show us their personalities and let us see how they interact. It all enhances the reading and imagination, which is perfect in a story like this.

The book opens with Macey and her men visiting Nessie, only it's not Nessie and it takes a bit for Macey to figure it out. Macey is in a dungeon, the Voice is torturing her. When she wakes, she meets a mouse, Luch. It's Luch who tells her that Amber is also imprisoned here and not in good shape.

Now the Voice has been torturing Amber far longer than Macey. In the visions the Voice has projected on her a kelpie will kill her. She is sure she will die now and by Macey's hand.

With the help of a mermaid they get to Scotland and a messenger from Malan is there waiting. Before she would get their men she wanted to meet Nessie, who had thus far been ignoring her. A touch of blackmail if you will. Once reunited with their men, they find they actually have a bit of a time limit to fix everything.

A visit to the Sith and Macey takes on the final warden Air. Some mysterious chairs, a secret revealed, plenty of travel and new folks and just one thing solved.

I love these books, they are creative, sexy and full of suspense and intrigue.

Into the Mists is the second book in the Seven Wardens Series. It's a supernatural reverse harem story. You must read these books in order. If you haven't read book one, I highly suggest you go read it before starting this one. This review will assume you've read the first book so if you haven't, back away from this review since it'll mostly likely have some book one spoilers.

This book picks up where book one left off. Macey and her three mates (Cam, Flint and Jared) have teamed up with Izban to find Amber who is being held captive by Mahoun the evil that Macey's been calling the Voice. Unfortunately, at the end of book one the Voice captures Macey. The journey continues as they all try to make sense of what is happening and what role the Wardens play in ending things and stopping evil from destroying everyone. This book ends without a big cliffhanger but the story not completed. I'd say happy for now with more of the story still to be told.

***1/2 stars- This is the second book in the Seven Wardens series. Macey, a kelpie, has been kidnapped by the Voice. She meets a mouse name Luch who helps her and Amber, a beithir, escape. After they escape the Voice, they find the other wardens. Macey is reunited with Cam, Flint, and Jared. Amber is reunited with Izban. Now that the six wardens are together, they need to find the seventh and final warden. They must also continue their quest to restore the Staran which is dying. The Staran is a magical pathway that allows them to travel quickly.

This book has nonstop action and adventure. Luch helps them with their quest. She has some surprising secrets that she will reveal to the wardens when the time is right. Luch is an interesting and fun addition to the group. The wardens are likeable and interact well together. The authors are building an interesting world with lots of mythical creatures. Overall this was a good book. I plan on reading the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Our heroine is kidnapped again, but this one is for nefarious purposes. No time to wait for rescue here.

This is book two of the series, but it works pretty well as a standalone. All the essential bits are covered early on.

This is a paranormal romance story with a reverse harem theme and a dose of Scottish folklore thrown in for good measure. The story is well written and easy to read as I would expect. The characters and setting are also well developed and quite intriguing, almost as much fun as the plot itself. I particularly liked the Scottish elements seeded throughout. Speaking of the plot, it is a good one including plenty of mystery, twists and turns to keep things interesting. All together, this made for a fantastic read and I look forward to reading the next book of the series.

Highly recommended.

First, this book continues on, so no HEA, with that being said... I really liked this adventure 7 Wardens series, loved the romance and the characters and plot. I was highly disappointed in the fact that the book ended! It is a must read, now I have to be patient and wait for the next book to come out to find out what happens. Okay, I’m addicted to this adventure series, just when I think the book is wrapping up, it ends for another adventure and a wait! Sigh, I love the characters and the steamy scenes. Interesting this is where Macey meets Amber, how the two of them fight together to get free of the Voice with the help of a little fury friend. Still trying to figure out why Izban is so crouchy and irritable with everyone, perhaps that will be explained in another book.

Into the Mist was a great continuation to the Seven Wardens series. This novel started right where the first book left off and had me hooked until the end. With non stop action, this fantasy novel was past paced and intriguing and had a bit of everything, interesting new characters, fascinating plot, secrets revealed, twists and turns and a hott, steamy scene at the end.
I listened to the audible version of novel which was narrated by Angus Yellowlees. As with the previous novel he did an amazing job with the characters in this book. His voice was clear and understandable and he brought the story to life. I enjoyed listening to him narrate this series.
Into The Mist was a fascinating story and I absolutely loved it. Worthy of a 5 star status I would highly recommend it to all lovers to Fantasy reverse harem romances.

Into the Mists by Skye MacKinnon and Laura Greenwood is a paranormal reverse harem that I listened to on audio narrated by Angus Yellowlees. This is the second book in the Seven Wardens Series.

I absolutely love Laura and Skye's books! In this book the seven wardens are finally united. I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. The book does end on a cliffhanger but that wasn’t a surprise since it’s the second book in the eight book series. I can’t wait for the next book in the series Beneath The Earth to be released on audio.

Angus did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of his work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like reverse harems, paranormal romances, or Scottish mythology.

Macey is captured and taken to where Amber is. So now there are two elements together, water and electric. The Voice has taken over their thoughts and imposed his own. He tries to force Amber to harm Macey..only Macey survives the electric and even gets a tattoo from it. Then they find themselves free but are drawn back by the Voice. Then Luch, a mouse, helps them finally escape. Now they;re with Macey;s aunt Nessie. Then she;s reunited with her men while Amber is reunited with Izban. Now they need to plan on how to save the world.
Twists and turns, plots and more plots, adventure galore as well as a curse and life gets even more interesting.
Fantastic second story to this wonderful series!

Continuing the Scottish mythology by Skye MacKinnon and Laura Greenwood in this second book in the fabulous series. princess Macey has been kidnapped yet again but this time she is in real trouble but she knows that she needs to rely on herself to get out of this mess. There are fantastic characters - many more introduced in this book with plenty of action, suspense, tension, red hot s@x scenes and so much more to keep you riveted to your seats. Beautifully written so that I didn't want to put the book down as this is a delight to read and such a terrific storyline. Bring on book 3 please. I am absolutely loving the story of Macey and her men. In this second story in the Seven Wardens series Macey is captured or kidnapped and is stuck waiting to see if her men will rescue her. She is locked up with Amber but really can only communicate with her neighbor Luch. This story is adventurous and exciting. I love Macey and how she is totally in love with her men. I also appreciate how this story continues Amber's story and we find out about what happens to her. I can't wait to read the next story about Macey and find out about what happens next. I really, really recommend this series to any readers who love fun, adventurous reverse harem reads.
