The Mystery of Ghost Island The Mystery Series Bk 8 by Paul Moxham Review 1-11-18
Are you up for a thrilling adventure?

What did I like? A great book that will keep your kids or the big kid in yourself glued to the pages. I love the detail in this authors books, I have never been to Britain before but when I read his books I feel like I am right there. I also felt that this book was loaded with a lot more action than the previous ones have to date.

What will you like? Mystery, intrigue, fog, FEAR, demanding exercise and major action! Talk about fear being in the headlines, it takes over this whole story. From being trapped in a flooded room to having to swim from the island to the mainland is quite a feat for a little girl to have to go through. Don’t miss another thrilling adventure with our favorite foursome. I received this from the author for an honest review.

The Mystery of Ghost Island by Paul Moxham
This book starts out with series listings of the authors works and praise for his writing.
Story is about the children and Will's father invites them all to meet his friend in France.
I can't even imagine all the fun places they are going to find: ghost island, caves, submarines, earthquake and paintings by a dear friend of theirs.
Children camp out in the yard and really get to explore the location and run in Quigley who loves the area himself. Love how he tells them of a location he's been to before, so much in detail they will be able to use it themselves.
As always the kids get intro trouble, run away, get caught, escape, etc...
Love how they reason out a problem til a solution is found. This would make an awesome movie because everything is described in excellent detail you can just picture it all in your mind.
Like how they find great places and people they meet.
Authors listing of latest works and just released are summarized along with buy links.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

A familiar ring

An Enid Blyton clone, minus her more objectionable aspects, as well as her parents and animals.

How lovely that everyone spoke English in France in the 1950s, that people could travel throughout Europe without passport control, that tsunamis could hit and leave a town dry (although damaged) moments later, yet mysteriously manage to slowly fill up a bomb shelter. People were great in the 1950s. They could be hit and pinned by falling debris and say they’re fine.

My favorite part was a badger being described as a small animal. True, they’re small compared to a cow, but are a robust creature.

Enid Blyton was very popular, so I could see children enjoying this book. Unfortunately, it wasn’t for me.

The plots in the books in this mystery series are similar to each other, but it's a fun read for kids around 7-10. The characters never show fear or anxiety, and the parents seem to give them free reign. It's a blend of the Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys series except geared to a younger reading audience.

My children love these little books. They thoroughly enjoy each and every story, as if they are all unique and individual without any cause for similarity among them. Even though sometimes, they might seem tedious and repetitive to me as a parent, I do enjoy being able to read short-stories to my children that are clean and respective.

I haven't read about braver kids than these kids. WOW! They just didn't seem to have any fear as they plunged head first into this mystery with no thought of letting it alone. There is lots of action in the story.

3 1/2 stars. A fun mystery for young readers, along the lines of Enid Blyton. There’s plenty of action with all the kids getting a chance to be heroic and help solve the mystery.
