Tempting Jane is a good read if you like the office romance trope. Well written and light, it was a fun read that didn't require much thought. This is a book you just read to enjoy! It is a bit predictable, but again, that just meant I didn't have to worry about what might happen. Sometimes, there is comfort in this type of read for sure! Both characters (Jane and Lincoln) are likable and entertaining!

PS: The heroine's name is Jane Rochester! I loved it!

Tempting Jane by Monica Burns is the first book in her brand new Rochester Sisterhood series. A contemporary romance told in dual POV with the focus on main one couple with wonderful secondary characters (mainly the other Rochester sisters *wink*) and a happily ever after this was a wonderful read. Well-written and well-paced, the story of Jane and Lincoln flows effortlessly off the pages.

Jane Rochester is the owner of the Thornfield Staffing Agency and, as such, when her hand-picked staff all are unavailable to step in for a client's emergency staffing needs, she herself steps in. Little does she know, thanks to a phone conversation on the elevator with her younger sister, she steps right IN IT in front of the man on the elevator with her who happens to be the client and owner of Chandler Enterprises.

Lincoln is both amused and annoyed by the woman and her conversation on the elevator. While not trying to eavesdrop he can't help but hear the conversation and know it is him she is discussing all while unaware that it is him in the elevator. While annoyance wins out at first he can't help but be intrigued by the beautiful woman in the unflatteringly professional clothes doing her best to not stand out.

A wonderful ride through the ups and downs of their meeting, begrudging friendship and growing relationship. The world-building was fantastic and I was sad to see them get their happy ending as I just wanted more Lincoln & Jane. Excited to see which sister is up next!

Jane and Linc are a most improbable couple, thrown together by the perfect storm of a business contract. Their initial contact is in an elevator; the situation is hilarious, compounded by Jane's phone conversation with her sister. This provides the impetus for the high speed affair they embark upon. Only...Jane and Linc are both leery of relationships with coworkers. The book explores their journey as they attempt to trust each other while falling in love.

Both H and h are very likable characters, especially with their human weaknesses. The witty banter is a hoot, especially with Adele. The secondary characters are a great complement to H & h, exposing more facets of their personalities. And be ready for lots of steamy sex! I can't wait for Helen's story.

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

Tempting Jane is a contemporary romance hit! Its adorably sweet, tempting, fun, sigh-worthy and full of great banter, smart and smooth characters and a hell of a too cute plot!

The one thing that really called out to me was this gloriously sweet looking cover. It screams of a romance that you will find to pure goodness and will have you swooning and honestly, I felt like I got that and more from this book. This is a light entertaining read that can make you smile and will make you feel warm and gooey inside. Its a worthy read in my opinion and worth every penny!

Tempting Jane gets a DELIGHTFULLY LIGHT AND SWEET FIVE WHOLE SHOOTING STARS!

This is a fun, enjoyable book.  The characters, including the wider band of sisters, are colourful and witty, and the chemistry between Jane and Lincoln is explosive.

I have one main niggle with this plot line - and that is the office/co worker element of this, given the issues that Jane had with a previous employer.

The story does follow the established formula for a story of this nature.  But it is delivered with style.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Tempting Jane is a satisfying, cute, fluffy read that was light-hearted and fun from beginning to end.

Perhaps it was my personal knowledge on the staffing agency world, but Jane's perfect storm of issues that lands her in the temp job instead of running the agency as she normally would, felt all too familiar.

I found Jane to be quirky, if not a bit too straight-laced, but overall a fun heroine who I could root for. She was definitely ambitious to a fault and often over compensated leaving her open for mistakes or clumsiness which was funny and relatable. Even funnier when those aspects landed her temping for a high profile real estate development mogul, Lincoln Chandler. The attraction is instant even though both of them try valiantly to remain professional. He's a bit broken from past betrayal and his skepticism of Jane keeps him guessing and making some mistakes here and there. However, I tend to swoon for a business man who can fill out his suit in all the right places, and Lincoln hit every mark in that aspect.

Monica Burns is an author I tend to enjoy, even though her works are mostly all historical or light paranormal so this straight contemporary was a pleasant surprise. Tempting Jane is light and fun and definitely worth the read.

I give Tempting Jane by Monica Burns 3.50 stars!
