Well, I did not entirely plan to re-read this but seeing that I had no idea what I was even talking about in the "reaction" from 2013 plus that it's only three pages long, re-read it was.
And I have to say that I still agree with myself (Quite shocking, I know). Overall it is a fun, quick read but I still have a little issue with it.
So, that next time I remember what I actually meant:

W-what?? Really? That's all we get :( ? That was the biggest damn tease EVER!!! It's Dimitri's POV for crying out loud and all we get is 3 measly pages! B-b-but its Dimitri!!! I love him and that was just not enough. I'm sorry, I just needed MORE. Okay... okay fine, it was really cute while it lasted. The Vampire Academy series IS and forever will be MY #1 favorite ever!!!! Rose and Dimitri are the best fictional couple and they go together like pb&j :D

this is a little short story in the 10 anniversary Vampire Academy book. It gave a little peak as to what Dimitri thought of Rose when they first met!

And yes, even in the poor lighting, I could see that she was beautiful—in a deadly way—and that struck me too. Her pictures hadn’t done her justice. Long, dark hair framed a face filled with the sort of hard-edged beauty a man might easily dash his heart against. Her eyes, though filled with hatred for me, still managed to be alluring—which only added to her danger.
I don't think I need to point out what didn't work our for me. -_-

So I've read this short story after reading the Vampire Academy and I was happy to read Dimitri's POV here. I've noticed there was an insta-love going on? Anyway, this made me conclude that somehow, Dimitri and Rose's feelings for each other was mutual since the very beginning. Nothing special really happened in this short story, but it was worth a read nevertheless.

It was nice revisiting this world for the sake of nostalgia. I honestly did not like this story much because it had “insta-love” vibes which I refuse. I do not believe our Dimitri was attracted so quickly to a teen.

It's cute to read about how fondly Dimitri has thought of Rose from the very beginning, but when you really think about it, it kind of takes away from the story as we know it from the primary series. I mean, I always thought Dimitri fell for Rose after at least getting to know her more, instead of it being more like insta-love. And I just feel like it would have been better if it had remained the former.
Also, it feels so unlike Dimitri to be wholly focused on this random girl's (which Rose was for him at that point in time) beauty and fierceness when in battle with her to save the princess.. Like, dude, come on.
In the end, this quick story doesn't add much to the series as it's so incredibly short, but I did enjoy the read.

Richelle Mead, I adore you. Is there a cult somewhere that I can join? Because I feel absolutely blessed for Dimitri. And Adrian. And Seth. And Roman...Carter. Dorian. Pretty much every love interest you've written.
Oh, am I supposed to review this short with something than utter fawning? I'll tone down the adulation but overall: it's a nice, fun short. Rose is being her kick-ass self. Oh, and it's in Dimitri's perspective!! Some slaying action going on.

Regarding this short story, I can't say I liked it. It is unnecessary and it feels like it takes away something from the original story.
Regarding the series as a whole:
FANTASTIC
This is without a doubt one of my favorite YA Fantasy series.
I do love Richelle Mead, her series Succubus Blues is also one of my favorite UF series ever.
What you'll find in this series:
Entertainment from beginning to end. Action, emotion, badassery, growth, adventure, VAMPIRES, fighters, excitement, suspense, intrigue, passion, love.
Great plot. Brilliant story evolution, believable succession of events and excellent plot development.
Fantastic characters and character development. Intelligent, brave, responsable, tough and feminine heroins that make smart choices. Hot, mysterious, loyal, intriguing, inteligent and badass male main characters. Characters than mature, learn and behave accordingly to their ages, circumstances, and life lessons.
Incredible relationships. Intense and developed romance with out of this word chemistry and longing. True bounds of friendships and loyalty.
Exemplary.
This series has it all. I have reread it many times and I will do it again. I eat this series up!
My favorite book within this series is Blood Promise (Book 4), which is one of my favorite books of all time. However, the book that truly made me a hardcore fan of the Vampire Academy was Shadow Kiss (Book 3), the final part enthralled me and trapped my heart.
I do have some issues with Book 5 and 6 regarding Rose's relationship with Adrian, her thoughts and actions regarding him and Dimitri. It bothered me, and I don't really see how it was that relevant to the story. The way the relationship unfolded made little sense to me, specially because of the small time-lapse everything happened in. If we had had a much longer time interval, her feelings and thoughts would have made more sense to me. As it is, it is lacking affective responsibility, which I think is what bothered me most.
The audiobook narrator is very good. My first time with these books was by paperbacks, after that, all my rereads have been by audiobooks.
I highly recommend this series, both to YA and adults, females and males. It is just great.
P.S.: The movie is appallingly TERRIBLE and does an atrocious disservice to these books. It should be staked in the heart!

My reaction when I found out there was a Dimka POV
HERE IT IS OMG.
Oh, Dimitri, my love.
SWOOOOOOOON. LOOK AT THIS FINE PIECE OF MAN. ROSE YOU LUCKY WOMAN.
I can't even contain my happiness. Dimitri's POV was great!
Now, it wasn't perfect. It was completely different from what I was expecting. But then, Richelle Mead probably didn't think too much of this since it was a very short scene. I loved how Dimitri was so allured by Rose, it was so flipping cute!
From what I've read, Richelle won't be making a full length novel of VA from Dimitri's POV.
Despite fans of Vampire Academy's pleas, we probably won't get another Dimitri scene in a while. Sad, I know. But maybe if we bug Richelle even further she might?! Or just get annoyed... but OPTIMISM IS THE WAY, PEOPLE.
In conclusion. READ THIS. I don't care if you aren't a Dimitri fan (but let's be real. THIS IS DIMITRI) READ THIS.
I am so excited for the movie too! *Le sigh*

oh, I remember that... it was a public-competition and Richelle Mead promised that if she won the prize for the Last Sacrifice she would write the first meeting of Rose and Dimitri from Dimitri's POV. She didn't win the prize, but - as good a person as she is - she decide to write it anyway.
I really don't like all these new trends that we need to know what the man of our lovely duet thought when he first saw the girl (aka Edward from Twilight, Four from Divergence or Grey from 50 shades - bliah...), but Dimitri is a level just himself!
And he is cute... and lovely... and fictional....

Remember when Rose and Dimitri first met in the first installment of Vampire Academy? Remember how awesome that was? No, well how about reading this from Dimitri’s POV? Doesn’t that sound amazing? Guess what! It was amazing! So amazing! Dimitri Belikov finally gets his own POV in something written by the lovely, Richelle Mead. It was literally the best thing to read if you’re waiting for The Fiery Heart and need something to reenter yourself into the world of VA and Bloodlines.
Dimitri is forever going to be one of my favorite fictional heroes ever. He is so swoon worthy that it should be a crime. I absolutely love him and only gifs could describe my deep love for Dimitri Belikov.
I'm an array of emotions when it comes to Dimitri Belikov.

Rose Hathaway through Dimitri’s eyes is so… amazing to see. I’ve always wondered what Dimitri thought when he first met Rose and it’s so interesting to see his perception of her. Can we just have VA written in his POV, but only the steamy parts? Rose is one of my favorite heroines and she will always be my favorite to go back and read about.

I loved Dimitri in the beginning in the Vampire Academy series but as the series progressed I didn't love him as much. But I absolutely love the Vampire Academy series and this universe, I'll read anything set up in this.
I already suspected Dimitri's inner thoughts and this snippet confirms that. Although Rose and Dimitri are not my OTP, I can't deny that their chemistry was really amazing in the first half of the series. A quick and an enjoyable read that made me reminisce reading the whole series.

Dimitri's POV of the first scene of Vampire Academy when he brings Rose and the princess back to St. Vladimir. This is not exactly how I remembered Dimitri sounding... yes he is quiet and brooding but he's kind of soft in this scene. Still, it was fun seeing how enamored he was with Rose and his perceptiveness shone through when he gleaned so much information from Rose without either of them saying a word.

OMG!!!! DIMITRIS POV WAS F*CKING INSANE
When my cousin sent me the link I was like;
Well let's begin, shall we?
As we all know, all the VA addicts were wating for this moment to eventually come (and it came!)
Knowing what Dimitri was thinking while meeting Rose Hathaway was amazing.....
It seemed like he already knew that it'd definitely be some attraction between the both of them...and I think that Rose sparked almost immediately the light in his heart,soul and thoughts....
He saw Rose as a teen who needed help and he'd most definitely like to help her with it. To achieve her goals...
It was clear that he would be there for her no matter what...
Dimitri for one more time looks enigmatic but magnetic and charismatic as well....

The Meeting is a three-page long novella (#1.1) in Richelle Mead's young-adult, paranormal series titled Vampire Academy. This super short story offers Demitri's POV during one of the first scenes in Vampire Academy when Rose and Lissa are caught from runaway status.

I have a strong compulsion to put 1 star for this.. actually it didn't even register to me as a dimitri pov.. cz he didn't sound like dimitri.. also it was short.. and more than that it seems like richelle forgot her own book.. cz dimitri actually saw rose get bitten by lissa, and he was not hiding.. he was standing right under her window and she saw him..
I voted like crazy for dimitri to win so i can get his pov.. but what did i get instead.. i got a meaningless short thing that didn't even sound like dimitri, plus that was his first impression of rose and certainly wasn't satisfying cz it was so void...
I only put 3 stars for the sake of the series that i love.. but clearly richelle didn't put much effort in this..
And come on dimitri would never say "wild girl" it is so cheesy and stupid..

Seriously! Richelle why didn't you just alternate the POVs of the series between Dimitri & Rose *sigh*.
Having the opportunity to be inside Dimitri's mind & seeing the meeting through his eyes was so refreshing. He was instantly attracted to Rose. Its truly beautiful & amazing to see how Dimitri perceived her ahhh! ASDFGHJKL.
I loved it! And if you're a huge fan of the series as am I, this is a must read. Thank you Richelle for this little treat!

Oh Dimitri Dimitri! I could never ever get enough of this man! Totally loved it! Consumed it within minutes! Even though he seems so serious and with control, he is such a sweetheart, having these thoughts for Rose, we knew he was like that but we guessed what his thought would actually be like! I want to read more from his point of view :D

Seeing Dimitri's POV in this scene from the beginning of the first book was really interesting. He's quite a difficult character to understand, so delving into his mind is such an added bonus! It helps us see how he's human after all, not as cool and stoic as he makes out to be. I would love to see more of Dimitri's POV.

This is a very quick little scene, from Dimitri's POV, of the moment he first meets Rose and Lissa in Vampire Academy.
