This is a story mainly based on the gorgeous heroine Olivia, but unfortunately I could neither connect to her nor to her relationship with Ronan.
There was romance, twists, angst, little drama and suspense.

One more time, I had the pleasure to read a book of a new to me author and again fell head over heels with their writing talent and their book. Lisa Shelby blown my mind while reading Gorgeous! The story reminded me few well-known romance series I have read (I won't mention their titles) whereas it can be described as exceptional and unique as the others. The author's power of words in her narrative was that hooked me at first. Still, the grand winner of my attention was its incredible plot...
Roman McKinley is a man who can reign the world, however, he losts the ground under him when he set his eyes on Olivia Adams. Her response to his proposal wasn't the one he was keen to hear; But when she finally accepted their affair didn't take long to bloom. Throughout the story, Roman looked too good to be true. Honest, caring, attentive, sentimental in so many different ways; he was a man any woman would die to have by her side..but was he someone to be trusted?
Olivia Adams has accomplished her goals, despite her tough past, by never rely on somebody else but herself. She works as an event planner and she is one of the best. Roman's McKinley proposal throw her off balance but her agreement didn't take long to come and she begin working for him. The pull between them was strong, his attention heartwarming so it was inevitable Olivia's guards to began to crumble around her. Then next was her own life...
Oh my! Oh my! Lisa, what have you done to me? You took Olivia's and Roman's story so deep and then...boom...you blown my mind and heart to millions pieces, waiting now impatiently the continue of Gorgeous duet. I was totally invested into the story, needing to see where it could take me. Gorgeous unique storyline is a delicious combination of love and romance set within the complexity of its heroes lives and the mystery they carry. I love Roman and how the author presented him into the story. And I adore Olivia's powerful character. I could literally feel her!!! The chemistry between them is off the charts and that because of the author's incredible way of writing. Do I say more? Only that I totally recommending you to read it.
I hope I intrigued your imagination a little and make you grab the book, finding out what's really happening because there is no way to tell you myself. Until next time, enjoy your free time reading great books with the most unforgettable stories.

Lisa is a new author for me and I was very happy to receive this book from her to review.
Ronan and Olivia meet at a charity Gala where she is the organizer and he is a donor. Sparks fly between them and Ronan is immediately smitten. Olivia cannot believe that the gorgeous billionaire would be interested in an ordinary girl like her so she brushes the meeting off and leaves the gala. However Ronan is determined to see her again, so he offers her an interview for a job to work for his company as an event planner and personal assistant.
Eventually Olivia takes the job and although very attracted to him she tries to keep the relationship professional. The story reminded me somewhat of Fifty Shades in the way that Ronan seemed to be overly obsessed with Olivia but I loved how it unfolded. Ronan so strong and forceful falls in love and becomes putty in Olivia's hands, Olivia fights hard against being the stereotyped "getting ahead by sleeping with the boss" kinda girl. When they finally did get together I began to think that it seemed too good to be true and I was wondering when the shoe was going to drop, but WOW I was not expecting that ending!!
Unfortunately it is a two part story so now I have to wait to see what happens.

I really enjoyed the story and the characters. That cliffhanger ending was great and I was happy to have the next book available to jump right into. This was my first Lisa Shelby novel and I will be reading others.

Angsty and Swoony at it's best! Plus, you get a little suspense! I love that you also get both POV. I read this book in a day. Couldn't put it down. Can't wait for the second book, so I can finish Olivia and Ronan's story because where she left it off was not what I was expecting at all!

Ronan's life changes instantly when he sees Olivia at a charity party. The moment he lays his eyes on her, his world becomes more colorful. He has to know who she is and he needs to be with her even more. Besides the fact that Olivia is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen, she's also a very skilled event planner. He tries to impress her with his wealth, but he's in for a shock when Olivia isn't easy to persuade at all. Ronan finds out that for Olivia less is more. Will he be able to show her his true colors?
Olivia has known how to take care of herself from the moment she was taken from her mother when she was just a young girl. She's been looking over her shoulder ever since. The man who made her watch when he killed her father promised to come back for her to finish the job. When Ronan offers her a job she can't refuse, she has issues with the spotlights that come with working for a million dollar company. She once changed her name, so she could hide in the shadows. Will this still be enough to keep herself one step ahead of trouble?

I was rooting for Ronan and Olivia to be strong enough to choose the only love in life that matters, the unconditional kind.

Olivia is a proud woman and she has worked hard to become a successful event planner. I enjoy reading about strong female characters and thought she was a perfect match for Ronan. Lisa Shelby is a new author for me and she made an unforgettable first impression with Gorgeous. I loved the amazing chemistry between the main characters and think she has written a fantastic sexy book.

Oh where to even start....
Gorgeous has romance, angst, suspense, a sassy girl, a hot guy, and some teary eyed moments...I mean seriously how can you go wrong??? Oh and sexy time is hot...hot...hot...and sometimes sweet and romantic.
From page one I was captivated with this book. Olivia is an independent woman who has a secret. Ronan is the hot, billionaire who is a hard@ss to the outside world but a softy when it counts. When Ronan sets his sights on Olivia a series of events turn both their lives upside down.
I loved watching Ronan and Olivia’s relationship form. One was very strong willed and wouldn’t give up. The other was scared and had trepidation. What ensues between the two had me smiling more than not throughout the book. I truly felt like they were meant to find each other in one way or another.
Secrets are revealed.
Feeling are shared.
Trust is born but is that enough. Towards the end of Gorgeous I was on the edge of my seat reading page after page needing answers and them bam I read the words “To be continued...” and I literally said it can’t freaking end here I need my answers. You know you are engrossed in the book when you didn’t see that ending coming and you end up talking to your book. Thanks Lisa for making me look crazy in front of my family 😀.

Olivia is a strong woman and has been independent and on her own for most of her life.She is an event planner and meets Ronan at an event she held. And Instant chemistry. Ronan begins off with an cocky attitude but slowly warms into my heart. Ronan is the son of wealthy parents and runs the family business.
She is not not impressed by his money and that makes him like and appreciate her more.
They both have difficult pasts. Olivia's lack of parents and Ronan's lack of affection form his parents.I really like the character development of Ronan. They are both stubborn in their own way and it was an engaging read and had me finish the book in one sitting up until the cliffhanger.yes there is a cliffhanger and a really good one at that.

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author. I have never read this author but my friends she makes you want more. So Ronan and Olivia meet at a shindig an are instantly attracted, however Olivia wonders if he is could really be interested in her she is just an event planner. Ronan is intrigued and finds her an offers her a job, now she does not others thinking she is sleeping to the top. Now I can tell you more, but I won't because you need to read but be aware that it ends in a cliffhanger!! Enjoy!!

I'm one of those readers that doesn't bat an eye when a cliffhanger pops up at the end of what I'm reading. Especially, if I know the continuation is coming soon. Be prepared, because it's definitely one of THOSE type of cliffhangers. 😜 Gorgeous: Book Two arrives soon, so no worries.
Fort the most part, Gorgeous is a sweet contemporary romance, but with some foreboding suspense and angst. Seriously, you just know it's coming and can't stop reading to see how it all plays out. It's also a quick read with an equally paced storyline. This first part only touches on the angst and the cliffhanger gives it the push to be something so much more. I'm looking forward to it's conclusion. (This is my voluntary and unbiased review of an advanced copy of Gorgeous: Book One.)

I am in to this writer. She’s crafted three cavity inducing sweet romances with the You & Me Series, but in her latest release, she has definitely taken it up a notch! I love that she once again is using dual POVs because if she wasn’t – you’d be dying to get into Ronan McKinley’s head! Shelby has once again given us a beautiful specimen for all of us to wish he was real, and a strong female character to root for in Olivia! And let’s just say Gorgeous turns up the steam quite a bit from her You & Me Series! And that’s hard to do with all that chocolate ice cream and cake pops. I’m not the type to write a synopsis with spoilers in a review, but there are some twists and turns in here too that will not let you put the book down. I read the whole book in one sitting. Yes, it’s a duet and we’ll have to wait a few weeks for the next one – but I’m sure after reading the first half, you’ll agree it will be worth the wait!

This is the 4th book by Lisa Shelby that I have read and she just gets better with each book. Romance is not usually my genre of books I read, but I have to admit that I had a really hard time putting this one down. I felt all the emotions with this one, and talk about a cliffhanger!!! Prepare to end this book feeling angry, confused and wanting more! Book 2 can't come out fast enough

This story filled my heart just like the moonlight fills the night sky with its strong well developed characters, who you can’t help but fall in love with. Also, the author will take you on a emotional roller coaster throughout this story with the unexpected twists and swoon worthy moments. Looking forward to the second book in this duet!!

First of all, this cover is GORGEOUS!!!
Olivia and Ronan have super power attraction to each other. I devoured this book in one sitting. Gorgeous is a duet. I loved this story and I'm dying to read Book 2. Ronan is the hero in this story, and he is so caring, hot, sweet and so respectful. Olivia is a sweet, independent, hard worker who has always fended for herself. 'Less is more' is somewhat of her saying. So, put in a rich guy who wants to take care of her, woo her, and they'll clash, she's not having it. There are obstacles, crazy parental drama, lust, love, emotions......I think I have a new book boyfriend. I would definitely recommend.

Five gorgeous stars! This is one of the best Office Romances I have read. I highly recommend it!
Wow! Gorgeous by Lisa Shelby is a delicious and all-consuming book that left me with a big “O” on my mouth. I am still catching my breath because this book left me wanting more. Holy cow! This book is a unicorn. It is well developed, the storyline is refreshing and the characters feel so real.
Lisa Shelby delivered a stunning story out of cliché. It’s unpredictable, haunting and too addictive. This book is so good for its own good. I love everything about it. The plot is highly addictive. Once you start reading it, you won’t be able to put it down until you finish it. This is a bookish pleasure with capital letters. Lisa’s writing is clear and elegant. She is a talented lady who promises wonderful books. Her characters are something else. All about this book is amazingly brilliant.
I really love that the heroine, aka Olivia, is a strong independent woman who knows what she really wants. She is not a damsel in distress. She doesn't need a knight in shining armour because she is capable of saving herself. Life has not been easy for her but she is a survivor and a fighter. She will be tempted by the powerful attraction she is feeling for her new boss. How can she survive him if he is making it hard for her?
Olivia will set the rules of the game but Ronan will break each of them because what they have is more than just lust. This is not the typical cliché of an employee falling for her boss. It is something deeper that leads them to give in to their most intimate desires.
Ronan won my heart with his cocky attitude. If he was my boss, I would’ve fallen for him. A man like him is hard to resist. He is handsome, wealthy and possessive. Behind his CEO personality is a tender and dedicated lover. Meeting Olive will change radically his world. He will protect the sassy woman who he knows she can take care of herself. She is not like any other woman. She is the one and he will put the world to her feet.

Hook, line, and sinker comes to mind with how book one ended: To be continued!
What?! Yes! Just when I thought the stars had aligned and all was well, the twists and turns that showed up smack dab at the end, quickly halted those ideas of mine.
The static in the atmosphere, the storm taking place in his chest, his breath falters. Across the room is a sight unlike anything:

"I feel like I have got whiplash, but the car isn't even in motion."
Synopsis is that Olivia is an event planner for the elite who meets Ronan at an event she led. They were both immediately smitten with each other but, refused to allow it to consume them and break them. I really like how Olivia is written: Smart, classy, strong, independent, and full of sass! Ronan, while being a billionaire, is actually a very kind man who has never felt loved nor met a woman like Olivia who wants nothing to do with his business nor his money.
Ronan: I seem to be stuck on the treadmill of life.
You want Olivia and Ronan to finally break through their own personal barriers, yet page after page they burn for each other without taking the first step. Both are truly equally stubborn!
Seriously! It takes until I am 44% of the way through the book for them to finally shatter the glass, the bravado gone.
As they delve into a relationship they find they both have had dark and sordid pasts with and without parents in their lives; Olivia without at a certain point in her life and Ronan with, but without love. They complete each other and, as stated before, just when you think all's well in the world, everything is flipped upside down.
Is it due to her dark past? Is is because of his domineering father?
I don't know! I can't wait to find out when Gorgeous: Book 2 gets release March 6, 2018!

They were both immediately smitten with each other but, refused to allow it to consume them and break them. I really like how Olivia is written: Smart, classy, strong, independent, and full of sass! Ronan, while being a billionaire, is actually a very kind man who has never felt loved nor met a woman like Olivia who wants nothing to do with his business nor his money.
Ronan: I seem to be stuck on the treadmill of life.
You want Olivia and Ronan to finally break through their own personal barriers, yet page after page they burn for each other without taking the first step. Both are truly equally stubborn!
Seriously! It takes until I am 44% of the way through the book for them to finally shatter the glass, the bravado gone.
As they delve into a relationship they find they both have had dark and sordid pasts with and without parents in their lives; Olivia without at a certain point in her life and Ronan with, but without love. They complete each other and, as stated before, just when you think all's well in the world, everything is flipped upside down.
Is it due to her dark past? Is is because of his domineering father?
I don't know! I can't wait to find out when Gorgeous: Book 2 gets release March 6, 2018!

Normally I don't start my reviews out by talking about how a story ended, but today is a new day in reading land! WHAT IN THE HELL LISA SHELBY?! HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME HANGING LIKE THAT?! Yeah, she's now on the list of authors trying to KILL ME DEAD, and shall forevermore be hashtagged #EVILWHORE! So, I'm going along reading about the 'Gorgeous' Olivia Adams, a smart & independent woman who isn't impressed by men with a lot of money. So when she meets the sexy & rich Ronan McKinley, his usual tricks to impress a lady aren't working on her. But his determination to hire her did, so she finally gives in to work for him. Now, they share a strong connection, but Olivia is tough nut to crack, & she's not willing to be one of "those" women (you know the kind who fall for their bosses?), so she does her job, and that's it. But somewhere along the way, she finally gives in, and they fall quickly. Now, that sounds awesome right? Yeah, he's from a rich family who likes to control people, and she has quite the past herself, so they stay secret. Ronan is used to getting his own way, as an alpha male, while Olivia is her own woman. Even so, they lit the sheets up in the bedroom during super sexy times. And of course it stands to reason since there was such a dramatic cliffy that has me singing colorful metaphors, there are twists that definitely have my f-bombs dropping, and frankly, I'm so mad that BOOK TWO NEEDS TO BE HERE ASAP BEFORE I LOSE IT! Now doesn't that kind of emotional response to the talented Lisa Shelby make you want to run out & read this awesome story?! It should because I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I was so into this book. Both Ronan and Olivia were characters that I am attached to. I needed to know their story, I wanted to know what was going to happen to them, and they HAD to end up together. There is no doubt in my mind that they belong together. They are perfect for each other, they understand each, push each other to be their best, and give each other the space that they require.
In Gorgeous there are stories within stories. Olivia’s past is a great sub-story. Learning of her childhood made her adult life make sense. You could see what she was reluctant to rely on anyone else, why she was so closed in, and why she was afraid to open herself up. Ronan’s past is explained much earlier in the story with the introduction of his father. Just meeting Ronan’s father made me thankful that Ronan had a nanny and uncle to love and nurture him when his own parents were not willing to do so.
This is a 2 book series. Book one ended with my mouth hanging open and me being anxious for the next book to be released. Luckily they are being released only a few weeks apart so I will learn the rest of their story soon.
Lisa Shelby is a new author to me and I will be making time to go back and read her other books. I definitely recommend picking up your own copy of Gorgeous: Book One ASAP.

This book was wonderful! I absolutely loved it! And that ending! I cannot wait until the next book.
Lisa Shelby really knows how to tell a story. Ronan and Olivia are beautiful together and I'm glad that she finally said to hell with her professional side and let Ronan jump her bones. It's pretty hot.
This story is one that will really unfold in book two. There's not too much action in it, but I know that the next book will be full of it and I'm waiting and ready for the shit to hit the fan.
The cover for this book is absolutely to die for.

Lisa Shelby! I shouted that as I finished this book, and you will too, I’m sure. I have to note, that after reading some of this author’s previous works, I have to say her writing talent was truly exemplified during this novel. The author had the power to concoct these two very likeable characters that you genuinely feel everything for, but at the same time punch you in the gut during the end of this book, and boy, did it hurt so good!
I truly loved the instant chemistry that existed between Ronan and Olivia-but also the need to remain professional. It was clear boundaries were going to be crossed, and the burn for us to get there was absolutely delicious.
One thing that I especially loved about this book was Olivia’s character. She was definitely a strong, independent woman that rose to the top with extremely hard work and dedication. She also, was definitely far from a door mat-and stood up for herself. She was hesitant to relocate and take a job with Ronan-and she really expressed her opinion which I loved.

Major cliffhanger alert!! I hate cliffhangers, but was drawn to this story anyway. I absolutely loved it!! The twists at the end leave you breathless and wanting the next book in the duet right now!!

(Warning: Found out at end that this is only part 1. ) Interesting opening to the story. I really appreciated the development in the move to San Francisco. Private jet from S.F. to one of the many airports in So. Calif for private. ‘Catalina Island Marina’? Really? I spent my summers on that island. The size boat doesn’t just drive up to either the pier at Avalon or Isthmus. Research is important. Also, Catalina is under conservation …. Building is usually not allowed. But, I decided to ignore reality. But, I decided to ignore reality. Ah ha! She rode bikes in Two harbors (that is the combo name for Isthmus and Catalina Harbor) so, they didn’t got to Avalon, they went to Isthmus … which means they needed to tie up boat and use dinghy to get to pier … and I won’t go over the building issue again. Grins. Ooops. Nope. They are in Avalon. This author has never been to Catalina or even looked at a map of the Island. Grins. Interesting developments in relationship and family backgrounds of both … perfect ending… nope… have to read the sequel.

I knew going in that this was going to end in a cliffhanger and I don't love them but the blurb intrigued me and the author is amazing so I gave it a chance and I'm so happy that I did . Gorgeous was a good read it had me hooked from start to finish and what a finish that was WOW so did not see that coming I need to know what is going to happen it's so driving me crazy plus alot of answers need to be answered .

Ronan and Olivia are a super sweet couple! She didn't want to be with him. She knew that he could become too important to her. But he offered her a job and she could not refuse what he was offering. Now that he was so close to her, all he wanted was to be with her. She was set on keeping it professional. Once she finally gave in, all bets were off..... except she wanted to keep it a secret so she wasn't know as the girl that slept her way into the job. She has her reasons on why she didnt want to become emotionally attached to anyone. Ronan knew these. Through the whole story I was waiting for the other shoe to drop.... and it did..... at the very end followed by a "to be continued".... so now I can not wait until part 2 comes out!!! I felt like some one punched me in the gut! And my mind is still totally blown because, though I was waiting for the other shoe to drop, I was NOT expecting that!

I was really enjoying this book up until the final chapter, aka the Cliffhanger. While Olivia’s stubbornness did irk me from time to time, her connection with Ronan and his feelings for her really drew me in.
It was the cliffhanger that made me the most angry. Not so much because it was a cliffhanger but the fact that Olivia could so easily believe that Ronan would actually break up with her and fire her from the company he started almost specifically for her mere hours after he texts her that he loves her and that they were meant to be. He had just spent months proving his feelings for her and even the last few days they were together before the “breakup” where they finally admitted their love for one another. Olivia so easily believes that he could betray her like that and it honestly made me very mad. While I will eventually read the 2nd part, I honestly need to calm down before I read the conclusion of the story.
