Jewish Insights Into Scripture

Rate this book
All too often our understanding of both the Hebrew scriptures and the New Testament is clouded by centuries of Western tradition and interpretation. In this collection of provocative essays, Dr. Eli Lizorkin-Eyzenberg pulls back the curtain and helps contemporary Christ-followers to understand how the scriptures were understood by their original audience. Jewish Insights Into Scripture will deepen your appreciation for familiar Bible passages and enhance your understanding of some verses you may have previously found difficult to interpret. Appropriating these Jewish insights will help you draw closer to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob!

Scriptural understanding

Very interesting insight to different topics, most of them wrongly understood in today’s religion perspective
Very well based on 1st century Jewish culture and messianic concepts.
Congratulations to Dr. Eli for this book

Excellent book for any who seek a better understanding of scripture.

I have enjoyed the insights given in this book. By bringing the language and culture of the Jews into the Bible study, many things that were difficult to understand become clear and the meanings of some verses as understood in Western culture change. I would recommend this book to any serious Bible student.

Excellent information-thought provoking

I enjoyed the explanation of many texts straight from their original language. I believe we need to read to understand and understand what we read. Jumping to conclusions of our own without backup and reference is dangerous and off putting. Help us Lord to understand and listen to You.

Informative and astonishingly revealing!

This book is a must-read for every Christian who desires to understand the connection between Judaism and Christianity. Christians will enrich their own understanding of Scripture, and gain a sense of commonality with their brothers and sisters who believe in the Jewish Messiah.

Loved it, wish I could read in Hebrew. This was written in 2015, he made mention in the chapter of the Mark of the Beast about chips being implanted in people, alluding to this not happening. Well, it has.

This books consists of pretty short (1-2 pages) blurbs on different concepts. I really enjoyed it, but felt like some could have given a little more. But I learned new things that were really interesting and helpful.

Enjoy the Hebrew insights

I have enjoyed the book. Provide new insights into reading the bible stories from a hebrew perspective. Quite good and once I saved enough or there is discount, I will move to the next book.
