DNF at 55%
I just found it all a bit ridiculous. I'm all for scarred badass heroines but I just found myself not really caring about her in the end.

Ok
Sweet and cute.
I felt this was a lot of the same formula this author follows with an injury, long recover, and falling in love slowly.
It was also MORE of a tease of Hollow. The character that has been in many many books and is sort of mystery background character. He was more present here but still no new info and not his book.

It's been a long while since I read a book that made my heart clench. I have always always loved Shayne's books! There's just something so magical about the worlds she creates.
The scar was always the first thing people noticed. Some people never looked any further. Wayne Savage not only didn’t give a damn about her scar, he made her forget she had it.
I've been looking forward to Scars for years ever since I read the little micro-story and it did not disappoint! Brinley and Wayne were everything I dreamt of and more. Perfect, yet flawed in a way that makes you love them even more. I adore Brinley's sass and wild heart, and was serenaded by Wayne's warm, gentle strength and his bossy moments. How he was with Brinley was simply beautiful. I was tearing up every other page.
She dropped her head on the pillow. Turning her face to look at him, she added, “I really am fine.”
Nodding sagely, he said, “I had a nice chat with your doctor on the other side of your floor. To be honest, it looked like he was trying to avoid coming into your room.” “He’s ridiculous.”
“You asked him to show you his degree?”
“It was a valid question!”
His laugh filled the room and kind of stunned her for a moment.
I adore that we get to see cameos of her characters. Especially Hollow, though Brooke made my heart ache. I cried a lot over dear Rex.
An hour later, they stood together on the porch and watched Hollow’s deeply tinted SUV drive away.
Megan sat on the rail in front of them. “There’s a part of me really wants to fall in love with that man.” She turned to look at Brinley and Wayne. “The rest of me knows better.”
Me too, girl. Me too.
I do wish we could get to see how Brinley rehabilitates her horses and her kids, though that might possibly leave me sobbing.

Scars are life changing
This book is great for a fan of this author or for someone trying for the first time. It is set in Shayne’s world of people with integrity. Love that. You’ll enjoy reading because the writing is top notch.
So many of us rely on our vision to show us scars. This book reminds us that there are scars on the inside too. Brinley has the outward scar but meets a man who sees her. She understands the invisible scars that are just as harmful when left untreated.
This book is great for a fan of this author or for someone trying for the first time. It is set in Shayne’s world of people with integrity. Love that. You’ll enjoy reading because the writing is top notch.

Outstanding!!!!
If your looking for a story that will leave you floored....this is the one for you. The twists and turns of a man and woman on a different path, but more similar than it appears. I definitely would recommend Brinley and Wayne's story. Become enthralled with a world that will leave you wanting more. Shayne has brought us a world that u will never want to stop reading about. She is an author that astounds us every freaking time. Love you Shayne and don't atop writing about what the voices tell you. ❤❤

Scars Forgotten
Found this author in 2015 with the Barter System series, and now Im back to read more, much more.
Scars is so totally unexpected, sweet and original in its story; but still touches base with past characters such as Hollow.
Its a feel good story of Brinley a badly scarred but strong and beautiful young woman finding her HEA after being injured in a selfless act of saving a young child.
This story seems to weave life in a full circle with feel good moments, humor and aome steamy chemistry between Brinley and Wayne.

Emotional rollercoaster
If you are looking for something with a hea but takes you on one heck if a rollercoaster of emotions check out this story. It has a light touch of beauty and the beast feel to it but with so much more depth and not the same roles. The female character has so much strength. Take a chance and enjoy. I can pretty much guarantee you will be a fan once you reach the end.

Another hit
Brinley and Wayne, another great love story by Shayne. Complete with a bit of intrigue and suspense. And a peek at another world, one that intertwines with others. A touch of Hollow, some Sunny and just a hint of The Barter System. A great feel good, happily ever after read.

Very good, well developed story. As always, we get to learn. A life lesson as we enjoy the story. This is sweet, romantic, and has some very sexy scenes. It is a good one.

It final here!
It feels like ages since I first got a taste of this story at the end of Ms McClendon's book, Damaged. I knew it was going to be special. A few years ago this author wrote a stunning tale of hope and Love called Completely Wrecked by posting chapters on her website as she wrote them. I cannot begin to convey the excitement I felt as each chapter was posted. I mean, who does this? Raw and unedited, gathering feedback from a growing crowd watching it unfold in front of our eyes. It was a revelation of someone who truly has a gift of writing. At the beginning of November, Ms McClendon had the idea of trying this method again. There was a lot of buzz being generated on social media about a 50k word writing challenge. She took that idea and went live with a group of readers who support her thru Patreon. Every day we were treated to a new chapter, most days two. The response was immediate, everyone was THERE, if you know what I mean. This book is the end result. I'm so excited to once again read this finally in its entirety and discover what's been done to the raw story I was honored to read chapter by chapter. I'm in total awe of this author's amazing talent.

I love this book!
Ever since this came out as a short story I have been holding my breath waiting for the whole story. Not only did she meet my expectations she bless them out of the water. Brinley has moved onto my favorite character list. Yet about must read from Shayne McClendon.

Shayne is a wonderful wordsmith. Her characterization of characters makes you fell like you know the person. Her books have an HEA and show the hard path it took for her characters to get there. Not by just focusing on the event - an in-depth look at her characters growth.
