Its significance and levels by Ibn Qayyim Al – Jawziyyah is a very valuable extract from the book Madarij al-Salikin, which looks in detail at the significance of life and the various levels of life- from this world to the Hereafter . Supported with extracts from the Qur’an and the sayings of the prophet ﷺ this short section contains very important messages for the believers.
— The life of a courageous person is more superb than the life of a cowardly man
— There are times in which the heart dances in ecstasy.
— The more these characters are perfect in a person, the more his life will be complete and powerful. This is how the quality of modesty (haya) was derived from life (hayah) in both word and meaning. The most perfect person in life is one who is the most perfect in modesty.
— Abdullah ibn Mas'ud asked his followers: 'Do you know who the person of dead heart is? He is the one about whom it is said:'The one who died and was in peace is not dead, the dead is that who is living." His followers asked him who that person was and he replied:'He is the one who does not know the difference between good and bad.'
— If he comes to Me walking, I come to him running
— 'Move your heart in love wherever you like, the love belongs to the first beloved. How many places a man stays on earth, but his yearning is for the first place.'
— The essence of this effort is that you sacrifice your desire for His will and be satisfied with what He grants you. What you get should be your exclusive share and desire.
