This was the first Christian book I read after becoming a Christian. I am the only believer in my family. Through her book, Stormie Omartian provided the support and wisdom I was lacking in understanding how to grow as a Christian. I quickly finished this book and have read multiple other writings by Stormie Omartian. Blessed to have her inspiration and guidance in abundance!

15 reasons to praise God and 15 circumstances for praise. This book gives Biblical insight into the power of Praise a Prayer that changes everything. I welcome her insight, encouragement and perspective. She gives questions for further study, and Scriptures that focus your attention along with stories and teaching which make her points. It is easy to read and use as a daily devotion.

Title: THE PRAYER THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING
Author: Stormie Omartian
Publisher: Harvest House Publishers
2004
ISBN: 978-0-7369-4750-3
Genre: Inspirational/prayer/Christian Life

One of the most wonderful thing about God is that He loves to hear our praises. According to Ms. Omartian, He lives in our praises. Even though God is always with us, and we are never alone, when we worship Him, then He comes to dwell with us in power.

When we praise God, something changes within you, or about your circumstances. Hearts change, minds change, attitudes change, and lives change. You can’t be in God’s presence without being affected by it in some way.

There are reasons to praise God every day, and there are times when praise in necessary.

THE PRAYER THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING is divided up into two sections.

Part 1: Fifteen reasons to Praise God Now

Part 2: Fifteen Times when Praise is Crucial

Fifteen reasons to Praise God Now, includes ideas such as:

 Because He is my creator
 Because He is my Heavenly father
 Because He has forgiven me
 Because He is holy
 Because He is….

And Fifteen times when Praise is Crucial includes:

 When I am troubled by negative thoughts and emotions
 When I have fear and discouragement
 When I don’t see answers to my prayers
 When I suffer great loss, disappointment, and failure
 When I sense all is well

I totally believe in the power of prayer and in the power of praise, and there are times when I just have to praise Him. God is a great and wonderful God, and He deserves our total devotion and praise. I highly recommend THE PRAYER THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING as a must read. There are verses included and places for further thought and reflection, as well as applications. $14.99. 316 pages.

Really enjoy Omartian's books. She is someone who writes in a simple, easy to understand way yet it's still profound. She has opened my eyes to God as my Father and has helped me to bring everything to Him, no matter how big, no matter how small. Praise is a beautiful way to lift us up to Him, and this book gives reason why we should be praising Him, and situations when it's especially important for us to do so.

Another good book on prayer. Stormie Omartian really has an amazing prayer ministry. This book is honest and thoughtfully written, and gives the reader the opportunity to research the prayer issue further with suggestion for Bible study. The book is easy to understand.

This book was given to Shari and myself as a Christmas gift. It is outstanding - lots of perspectives on praying, when, how and how to praise God and why we do and should do that. It shows the way in terms of growing closer to HIM. As we get closer, we want to be more and more like HIM. Lots of Bible verse references, too. That is part of why it took me so long to read it - and I did not look up 100% of them, either. The author has been through some challenges in her life - the sharing of those experiences and her use of prayer is excellent.

This is hands down my favorite book by Stormie Omartian. As all her books are, this is nicely organized and laid out. The focus on Praise directed toward God in every circumstance is practical meat for Christians- and this book serves it up well. Consider it a kind of "Playbook for Praising God". Christians would do well to read and practically apply. Useful, well written, an excellent resource for prayer devotional time. I would strongly consider using this in ministry with a group. Excellent! I'd go through it again!

This could have been a really great study but for three things: whomever edited could have done a much better/more thorough job, the book really dragged on and most likely should have been split into a series of two or three books, and most importantly, her verse selections were many times taken unnecessarily out of their context, from as little as two surrounding verses to as much as six or ten. For the newer believers they really need that context to help them understand what's going on. Other than those points it had some very moving, thought provoking lessons.

Ive read and enjoyed many of Stormie Omartian's works and she always gets me praying and thinking. Her insights are powerful as she shares her experiences and her own prayer life. All of Stormie's books are "re-readable worthy." Once may not be enough. As I've read this work, I felt the love and hope for those I care about. My perspective changes as does my prayer life all for the better. Mrs Omartian, I would so like me to meet you.

A great reminder that when we're praising God for who he is, we tend to remove our focus from our miserable situations into a place where God can work in the situation.
I liked that it was read by the author as she had a soothing voice, and made her story more real. Very encouraging, and only a few hours to listen to.

God has given Stormie Omartian many gifts. She definitely has the gift of words. She uses her words to give God's grace, encouragement, and practical teaching that she learned from Him through the tremendous pain she has experienced.
I can't imagine how jaded someone would have to be to not be touched by her devotional.
I'm grateful for her writings.

Really helped me see and think about the importance of worshipping God. Read half straight-through on vacation and the rest devotional-style, in little bits. So much highlighting and underlining, I will be referring back to this quite often. Good stuff!

This book was truly inspired! Stormie was transparent in sharing her past and eloquent in teaching how to pray through praise and worship. The prayers at the end of each day's reading brought me closer to God and the questions were thought provoking. A must read!

This audio book tackles many rough issues of life and explains so clearly the Bublical perspective on how to cope. It addresses dreams, desires, hopes, fears, concerns and needs. Stormie Onartin's style reminds me of Joyce Meyers. Prayer is the key to change.
