Elmora: Realm Walker Series

Rate this book
At 30 years old, I thought I had my life under control. The only interesting thing going on was my re-occurring dream of a night out with a tall sexy man. When he shows up at my door one sleepless night, my world changes. And the most outrageous thing about him? He wasn't just a man…he was an Elf. An actual effing elf like Legolas except with short hair and ten times more sexy. In Elmora I had to come to grips that I did not control my fate. That there was more to who I am than I ever imagined and more men in my life than I ever dreamed possible. **************This is a full length reverse harem novel.****************** AUTHOR'S NOTE**** I want to apologize for releasing a sub-par product in December 2017.

Started out as a great book and then it turned cheesy

The concept of this story was great! An Elf showing up at her door and her story begins! Yet halfway through, things start to become odd. Character choices and even the way the story was written became so ridiculous. What started out as a great book then turned into not wanting to read it anymore.

I know some readers like involving music into their books, but for me it just doesn't do it unless it's actually made up music that is part of the world in the book. Vera suddenly wanting to listen to music from the Earth realm and then having to read the lyrics in the book was just not for me. Unfortunately, it took me out of the world the author built and into my own.

it truly is such a shame that i never got into this one. i think i like the concept & plot enough but i have a hard time liking the way the story is narrated and the way the characters are portrayed. narration: at times i am reading, most times i am skimming large chunks of pages. characters: i never truly got into them to either like or dislike any of them. bottom line is, there are brief moments i like what i'm reading but not long enough for the interest to root deeply into me. i think it's a genuine case of it's not you, it's me. ps another good thing is that it doesn't end in cliffhanger, unlike so many other new rh releases.

I so wanted to love this book!

I was really excited to start this novel... It sounded amazing with faeries and magic and love and adventure. And I got really involved with the characters almost from the get-go. There were a couple of instances where I wanted to question the story line but overall i was happy and excited about this new read...

But then I reached a point where the formatting of the novel was driving me crazy. I can deal with a lot but obnoxious formatting is one of my big pet peeves that will almost instantly drop a book down a few notches in my eyes. This novel contained japanese? or chinese? symbols instead of English characters leaving me to guess at what the word should have been every couple of lines. But the worst part was the fact that some of the chapters didn't have quotation marks! I mean absolutely none. And this book has some thoughts that are read/sent so to have no quotation marks often had me completely confused.

The formatting was so distracting that half way though the novel i found myself skimming the lines and barely paying attention to the character development. As I continued to read, I kept distancing myself from the characters and their development because I couldn't focus on them when my attention was focused instead on trying to figure out the words that were interrupted by the random japanese characters or deciphering what sentences were said aloud in the story vs. just part of the inner dialogue.

I have this book 3 stars because I do think it is an interesting novel with an interesting concept. But unfortunately for me the formatting errors took away some of the positives of this book. If you are someone who isn't bothered by these kinds of things then I say download and enjoy. But if you are someone who cringes and gets distracted by these types of errors, be prepared going into the novel.

Otherwise I did think the length of the novel was really great as was the storyline. I did feel like the characters were almost rushed by the end of the book to resolve the conflict but I was also skimming so maybe I missed some key points which explains the fast pace ending.

Again, I really started to distance myself from the novel and therefore characters about halfway through but I was a little disappointed by some of the character development and actions of Garrick. I thought he was a more solid character than he was portrayed as by the end of the novel and since his character was almost weakened, it really wasn't a fan of him by the end of the novel. I think the character development overall was a little weak but I would be willing to read this book again and give it a second chance as soon as the formatting is fixed.

So now you know my thoughts and I hope they help you decide on whether this is a book you might be interested in!

I loved this story, don't get me wrong. It had interesting characters, a well thought out plot, and I enjoyed it greatly. However, technically it was a freaking nightmare. Grammar, spelling and lack of sentence structure truly let it down. Some people don't seem to be bothered by such things, but it made my head hurt and my eyes want to bleed. It seemed to lack the most basic proofreading. I would encourage the writer to keep up the good work creatively, but if you cannot afford professional proofreaders, perhaps join a writers group and ask someone to help.

Solid story, great strong heroine. Grammatical errors keep it from being a 5 ⭐️

Elmora is a great solid entertaining first book in a series. The heroine is well balanced, developed and grows at a good pace, eventually coming into her own plus more! Her men are all different and compliment her very well. The grammatical issues are really the only thing that keeps this book from being a solid 5 stars.

Surprisingly good

I didn't have high expectations for this book, mostly because I had never heard of it, but I was pleasantly surprised. The plot was intriguing and the characters were likable. There were a number of typos and grammatical errors that need to be fixed. Overall it was an original story that I greatly enjoyed.

The plot and characters are good!

I really enjoyed this book. It does need some hard editing, but other than that I liked how everything flowed!

Good start

This is a good book with a pretty good plot. It has a few typos but nothing that distracts from the story or interactions of all the characters.
