The new book by Professor Oleg Salychev, head of TeKnol Ltd., is dedicated to the latest achievements in the field of MEMS-based inertial navigation systems made by the team of engineers led by the author. The discussed MEMS-based systems can be used in integration mode with different external sources of navigation data, as well as in pure inertial mode, which is exceptional for this kind of navigation sensors. The above possibility can be achieved due to the new method considered in this book, which is based on so called multiplatform navigation solution. Here the different calculated platforms are implemented using the same raw data with different self damping error procedures depending on motion parameters. Each platform has its own damping control law and as a result has error behavior with different dominant frequency. The master filter combines these platform solutions in order to provide the optimal one for all possible motion modes. The great scientific and research experience of TeKnol Ltd is implemented in wide spectrum of MEMS-based inertial systems, which are described in detail in the book. The book is intended for engineers and postgraduate students involved in inertial instrumentation development.
