We are the last humans. We are hunted. We are refugees. We must return to Earth. The alien scorpions attack us across the galaxy. They butcher millions. Humans are now an endangered species. But we have not given up. We still have a few starships. We still have some hope. And we have a map home. On Earth, we can be free again. On Earth, we can stand tall. On Earth, we can rebuild what we have lost. Earth is but an echo, calling from beyond the darkness. We will answer her call. We will find our lost world. We will defeat our enemies. We will rise again!

This series by the author Daniel Arenson is only getting better and better with each new book. Truly an amazing imagination and penmanship are overwhelming and are pure joy to listen in Spatial audio on Apple AirPods Pro’s.
Beautiful narration by Jeffrey Kafer for each of the characters in this creation.
Just when you think the war is over for the humans, another war is beginning. Having battled fiercely against the Scorpion empire for freedom, the humans must now find a way to defeat the Basilisk that now inhabit the Earth and threaten to wipe out all humans.
I'm done with this story. I just can't take anymore ridiculous scenarios. I don't expect a story to be perfectly accurate on every detail, but this writing....I don't even know how to properly articulate how bad it is. On so many levels.
So far this series us worth the read. Each book is not a stand alone, you do have to read in chronological order. Daniel Arenson, is gifted with a good imagination, making his series woth reading.
Whenever a human was in danger, the Heirs of Earth will be there! The ultimate battle for the Milky Way Galaxy between the forces of the Inheritors and Concord Alliance against the Skra Shen and the Heirarchy.
It's been two thousand years since Addison Elizabeth Linden-Emery ate her last hotdog, since Marco Emery wrote his last book, since Einav Ben-Ari, the Golden Lioness, had led the forces that saved the Earth. Two thousand years since the Earth was lost and humans had been forced to scrounge for survival with nowhere to call home, reviled and scorned by alien races, exterminated as pests by most species.
Descendants of the famous families, David Emery and Emet Ben-Ari had acquired a small fleet of spacecraft, mostly freighters, which they armed. They established the 'Heirs of Earth' to protect humans across the Milky Way galaxy. Their oath 'Wherever a human is in danger the Heirs of Earth will be there' became their battle cry as their small fleet crossed space seeking humans in trouble and rescuing them. They sought to save humanity while searching for their homeworld, Earth, lost for hundreds of years. Their only memories of their home came from the Earthstone, a crystal data store of all Earth's history and culture, literature and art. A difference in their goals and methods drove a rift between the founders, Ben-Ari and Emery, and eventually split them apart. David and Sarai Emery, with their two young daughters, Jade and Rowan, left the Heirs to make their own way, taking the Earthstone with them. They had not been seen or heard from for nearly 15 years.
Emet Ben-Ari and his daughter, Leona, held the Inheritors together, rescuing humans wherever they could with the help of fellow Inheritors. Emet's son Bay had left the Heirs of Earth after the death of his girlfriend, killed by Scorpions. He blamed his father for her death and spent his time drinking, gambling and wasting his life.
Rowan Emery found herself abandoned and hiding in the airducts of space station "Paradise Lost", kept company by a tiny dragonfly shaped AI and the Earthstone she wore on a chain around her neck. She didn't remember much from before Paradise Lost, only something about a crystal cave and her sister Jade.
These characters form the basis for the Children of Earthrise series, a remarkable new series by Daniel Arensen. The characters are vibrant and colorful, brought to life by this master storyteller. The action is bloody and dark, raising chills with heart-pounding ship-to-ship battles, hand-to-claw skirmishes, blasters vs. bullets combat, some of the most intense action readable (or hearable)! I found it impossible to put the book down.
You don't have to read the Earthrise series first, but why not? The references to that story and characters are found throughout Heirs of Earth, but aren't really spoilers. So you don't NEED to read Earthrise, but you WILL enjoy it!
Spoiler Warning -
If you haven't read the first two books of this series - The Heirs of Earth and A Memory of Earth - then stop reading here, there ARE SPOILERS ahead!
SPOILER WARNING !!
In An Echo of Earth, book 3 of Children of Earthrise Series, the Heirarchy - the scorpions Skra Shen and their allies - have conquered system after system, killing every human they found. Their goal was to conquer the galaxy and exterminate humanity.
Arrayed against the Scorpions were the forces of the Concord - the Aelonians, the last unconquered races of the Milky Way and the Inheritor fleet. Emet Ben-Ari and his Heirs of Earth had gathered a fleet of a thousand ships containing all the humans they could rescue. The Concord's fleet numbered in the hundreds of thousands, but they faced millions of Skra Shen strikers and battleships. They knew their only hope was the fabled God's Blade, not seen for years, since Rowan and her sister Jade had played with it in a crystal cave they were hiding in on a world far away. On a mission to find the God's Blade, Rowan and
Sorry, that's all you get. I'm not going to give away the most exciting and intense action in the series so far, maybe Nope! You don't get no more! Especially in the last half - I was chuckling at the dialogue one minute and gasping for air, trying to help no! The brilliant storyline had me laughing hysterically and sobbing, tears rolling when uh uhh! On a tip to the location of Earth, Leona okay. That's enough!
In case you haven't guessed by now, I really loved this book, and I'm super confident that you will too! Now I just have to chew my wife's fingernails off (I don't have any left now!) until The War For Earth, Children of Earthrise book 4, to be released.
Fast paced story and easy to follow. Not really hard science fiction, but the universe is consistent at least. Thank you to the author for finishing one story line before introducing us to the next chapter.
So the humans are heading back to earth but yet again face another enemy wanting to stop them. When are they ever going to catch a break? Read on my friends it gets better and better as the story grows. On to book Four.
Our story advances. They lose so many people, it makes it hard to read sometimes, but you feel competitive to read on! Wonderful worlds the author has created, if a bit dark! Good read!
