This is another children's book I purchased from my local library's used book store to benefit the library. I pass these along to my grandchildren.

This book is part of the Smithsonian Oceanic Collection, and relates the life cycle of swordfish. Its small size will make it easy for children to handle, and the colorful illustrations that serve as the background for the text will hold a child's interest while they learn about the biology of one of the ocean's inhabitants. The story is probably best to be read to young children, but could be handled by mid-elementary grade students. I'd recommend this one for those homeschooling their children as the topic goes in just enough depth to be informative without being too technical for a youngster.
