Rate this book
Advocacy skills are essential for individuals with disabilities.   Once Upon An A Book About Learning Disabilities tells the journey of Matt who is diagnosed with a LD, learns to embrace it, finds he isn't alone and learns what it means to advocate. This book is excellent for all ages-readers with and without disabilities!  Mixing humor, illustrations and a workbook at the end, helps for the book to come alive.   It is great for classrooms, doctor offices and community rooms.

I loved it. It was much better than Cats. I'm going to see it again and again.

A helpful book written for children to better understand what it means to have a disability, need accommodations in school, and other terminology and experiences of disabilities. I read this on my Kindle, so it's possible the formatting is better in book form, but if I were to give this to my students, the text felt too small and cramped (and some of the vocabulary was pretty advanced) to be easily understood by younger students.
